I guess Morgan Wallen uncanceled himself

All I knew about him was that he was such a racist and called someone the "n" word that even country stations dropped him.

Now he's got the #1 song on the biggest pop chart.

by Anonymousreply 65January 8, 2025 2:27 PM

I bet he's WELL HUNG racist.

by Anonymousreply 1March 14, 2023 6:21 AM

Hasn’t this happened before? Some country singer was exposed for saying the N word and all the country fans got his album to #1?

I mean it’s really no surprise.

by Anonymousreply 2March 14, 2023 6:26 AM

Good song or worse omen?

by Anonymousreply 3March 14, 2023 7:01 AM

His voice is horrible.

by Anonymousreply 4March 14, 2023 8:45 AM

Haha. People are either angry about this, or wondering who the fuck he is.

by Anonymousreply 5March 14, 2023 2:25 PM

Good for him.

by Anonymousreply 6March 14, 2023 2:56 PM

He said that word to another white guy, while drunk, it was captured on his busybody neighbor’s Ring doorbell camera, and very clearly he said it with the ‘a’ at the end. It was in the way white boys try to imitate rapper behavior because they think it’s cool. It was in no way meant in a racist context.

The rap music industry indoctrinated an entire few generations of young men to think it was cool to act hood and what do expect? People are parrots for what they think is cool.

He made a million apologies. Who fucking cares?

by Anonymousreply 7March 14, 2023 3:04 PM

Very talented guy

by Anonymousreply 8March 14, 2023 3:06 PM

I would suck his dick, he's a cutie.

by Anonymousreply 9March 14, 2023 3:54 PM

Canceled or uncanceled, dude can sing a song. This is good.

by Anonymousreply 11March 14, 2023 4:04 PM

Lil Durk chose to sing with him after the n-word incident.

[Quote]Lil Durk has come to the defense of country singer Morgan Wallen following their collaboration that came months after Wallen's racial controversy.

[Quote] "My boy," Durk began. "He ain't no racist. That's my boy. We had a long talk. He had his public situation... I vouch for him and he good."

Huge fan here. The incident was not a big deal and I’m glad the world has moved on.

Don’t care.

by Anonymousreply 15March 14, 2023 4:31 PM

Morgan Wallen isn't the problem. The problem is the trigger finger response that is given every time some one speaks out of place. If the man had not apologized, or said it anger to another black person then i would understand. As for his talent, I have been listening to country music for over 50 years. He sounds like a drunk redneck at the bar singing along. If he wasn't cute he probably wouldn't be our face. Talent- ha! He lacks talent the way those who attacked him lacked balls.

by Anonymousreply 16March 14, 2023 4:47 PM

He has a Princess Tinymeat face and no bulge. Puny cocklet and no doubt bad hygiene.

by Anonymousreply 17March 14, 2023 4:49 PM

Sorry, but if you use racist language (doesn't matter what you "mean" by it) around your white friends because you know that's how they all talk, that doesn't excuse you. You know what word you used, you know what it means. It's 2023. Not sure what I expected; we're in the midst of some "non-apology tour" with Ezra Miller, Armie Hammer is pretending he didn't say a bunch of disgusting stuff and is emerging from his own exile.... not buying it though.

Another reason I'm not buying it: as a white person who lived 40 years in the same midwestern city, I've seen how whites like to talk about black people in all-white spaces. It's disgusting and normalized. And if they get caught or called out, we hear the usual "I didn't *mean* it", "it was just a joke" excuses, then you hear the same person six months later saying and doing the SAME BULLSHIT.

by Anonymousreply 18March 14, 2023 5:41 PM

Fuck off, R18. You're just as exhausting as all of those cancel culture assholes who spend their lives trying to find something that offends them and then getting it canceled. All of you can just go to hell.

by Anonymousreply 19March 14, 2023 8:59 PM

R19 is a RACIST!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 20March 14, 2023 9:00 PM

R16 Sorry to disagree but the guy is incredibly talented. He has a unique voice that adds big emotion to songs. I think “Sand in my Boots” is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. The melancholy tone he brings can almost (almost*) bring me to a tear.

by Anonymousreply 21March 15, 2023 12:23 PM

Did he say the N word or was he singing along with a song? I thought it was the latter.

by Anonymousreply 22March 15, 2023 12:25 PM

R22 I don’t think this guy is racist at all. I do think that he listens to hip-hop and was mimicking rappers that night. I fully expected him to be wearing a white sheet and carrying a burning cross before actually watching that clip. This is behavior is fairly common among drunk White dudes who are familiar with hip-hop culture. He wasn’t calling someone a ”Ni**er.” He was emulating rappers saying “What you got, ni**a” while bowing up.

I’m not moralizing. Probably NOT a good idea for him to do it BUT white men purchase the same amount--if not more--hip-hop music as Blacks. How the FUCK can we be upset with the Morgan Wallens of the world, when we add “N*gga” to every other song THEY download?

by Anonymousreply 23March 15, 2023 2:08 PM

You know what...I don't know if he's NOT racist or what. Wish we had an edit function so I could remove that.

by Anonymousreply 24March 15, 2023 2:10 PM

Awful garbage. People who like this clearly don’t like music.

by Anonymousreply 25March 15, 2023 2:10 PM

I never heard his name before. Does it mean that I'm old or that it's just not my kind of music? Is he worth giving him a listen?

by Anonymousreply 26March 15, 2023 2:15 PM

[Quote]Did he say the N word or was he singing along with a song? I thought it was the latter.

R22 He says it around 0:12, after a "rowdy" night out with friends. He supposedly said it in the same way certain Black people say it.

Country music is barely music.

by Anonymousreply 29March 15, 2023 3:48 PM

Country music fans liked him more after his "accidental" slur.

by Anonymousreply 30March 15, 2023 3:53 PM

First : R29 fuck off! Country music is, next to jazz, the music of America. R21 he is a horrible singer. Just because a song touched you doesn't make him talented. A broken clock is still right twice a day.

by Anonymousreply 31March 15, 2023 3:53 PM

"Nigger" is offensive to black people the same way "faggot" or "dyke" is offensive to gay people, and "kike" is offensive to Jewish people, etc. Clean and sanitize ALL the offensive terminology across the board, otherwise it's just selective outrageous and meaningless umbrage... it's all equally offensive, so be offended and say something when it's directed at a different group as well.

by Anonymousreply 32March 15, 2023 4:04 PM

He looks greasy.

by Anonymousreply 33March 15, 2023 4:24 PM

“the same way "faggot" or "dyke" is offensive to gay people”

FAGGOT

by Anonymousreply 34March 15, 2023 4:30 PM

He looks great here. And he's 29 years old.

It's hilarious the outrage that this minor incident instigated-- a private, jovial moment between someone & his friends. It's even more hilarious that those most bothered most likely found President Biden's condescending comments about blacks not being blacks & being put back in chains completely justified--comments that were made with serious intent & in public, official forums. Fake, overblown outrage really devours all perspective in feeble minds.

by Anonymousreply 36March 15, 2023 4:46 PM

R32 you know who says “faggot” the most?

Black people, I know from an informal poll of who has called me that word the most.

by Anonymousreply 37March 15, 2023 4:48 PM

R36 it was a hit job because he was a country singer, it was a move against country music.

by Anonymousreply 38March 15, 2023 4:49 PM

[quote] you know who says “faggot” the most? Black people,

R37, I believe it’s the white men and women in power (elected by people who look like them) in several states who are working feverishly to reverse our rights, progress. They are using using the ‘F’ word through their actions and legislation.

by Anonymousreply 39March 15, 2023 5:00 PM

R39 you’re right!!! Now that I know that, all the black folks calling me a “fag” to my face is fading from my mind. Thank you!

by Anonymousreply 40March 15, 2023 5:02 PM

If I’m with someone and they use the word “f*g” in any way other than to bum a cigarette from a passerby, we’re having it out…right there. I don’t care about how it “slipped” out, I don’t care if you’re “not like that”…your mask slipped and you’re trash and need to be cast out.

This guy isn’t even shut-in cute by DL standards but the same questionable whores are giving him a pass. Some of you are exhausting, complicit and hypocritical in this bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 41March 15, 2023 5:34 PM

I think the outrage surrounding his use of the word was more of a media creation. To my knowledge, I don't think many black people (myself included) ever thought twice about it. I think even Al Sharpton came to his defense and said what he did was not an indication that he's racist.

We have plenty of real enemies (Trump, DeSantis, MAGA) to focus on. Morgan Wallen is not one of them.

by Anonymousreply 42March 15, 2023 6:09 PM

Just country music haters, who have better taste like Dua Lipa 🙄

by Anonymousreply 43March 15, 2023 10:31 PM

R37 Um…what the actual fuck does THAT have to do with what R32 posted?

You know who says “Nigger” the most?

White people, I know from an informal poll of who has called me that word the most.

Do you see how THAT works?

Look, we get that you CANNOT wait to contribute your bits of wisdom to any thread that devolves into “Us vs THEM,” but you should really work on not being so desperate. There are plenty of other boards that are ready and willing to play your game.

At the very LEAST, stay on topic.

by Anonymousreply 44March 16, 2023 12:55 PM

It wasn’t just the n-word incident.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 45March 16, 2023 1:23 PM

R44 it’s relevant. Black rappers say “faggot” in a negative, derogatory manner all the time and no one bats an eye. We’re not going to get worked up about some white trash imitating gangsta behavior.

Also, if he were pop/rock this would have been pushed aside much sooner. There was a very “see country artists are racist!” spin to it.

by Anonymousreply 46March 16, 2023 5:16 PM

Anyone with ears and a brain can hear a white boy dropping a word he thinks is cool because he worships thug rappers for their toxic masculinity.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 47March 16, 2023 5:19 PM

R46 Bullshit. Plenty of rappers have been called out for using "Faggot." Hell, even Kanye West called for an end to the use of the word in hip-hop. Eminem got TONS of shit for using the F-word.

Not sure why you think this is some competition, but you keep on trying. You seem to REALLY need it.

by Anonymousreply 48March 17, 2023 11:51 AM

R14- Have I officially Eldergay status? I didn't know who either of these people were, I know that I do know, I'd rather not.

by Anonymousreply 49March 17, 2023 12:00 PM

No, R35.

His next single will be "Bringin' Mullets Back."

by Anonymousreply 50March 17, 2023 12:04 PM

R46 Clearly, somebody got worked up about it. Also, “Pushed aside sooner?” So pop singers can say “nigga” and get away with it?

by Anonymousreply 51March 17, 2023 12:07 PM

Is it true that the "b"side of Last Night hit is N*gga?

by Anonymousreply 52March 17, 2023 12:13 PM

Karaoke Nite bland.

by Anonymousreply 53March 17, 2023 2:21 PM

R51 ever heard of Justin Bieber? He said it hard ‘R’.

by Anonymousreply 54March 17, 2023 4:14 PM

And probably cums when he does…

by Anonymousreply 60March 24, 2023 2:17 PM

It doesn't matter how Wallen meant it, the support he has received in solidarity for his use of the term -- whatever it was -- is a sign of the downfall of our nation. Morality, decency and respect are no longer virtuous. Now people are rewarded for stupidity, spite and lack of decency.

by Anonymousreply 61May 16, 2023 5:48 AM

I forgot all about this.

by Anonymousreply 62January 8, 2025 2:11 PM

I understand when fraus like shit like this but as a man there’s no excuse to be so tasteless.

by Anonymousreply 63January 8, 2025 2:19 PM

Meh, crappy voice w/ a mediocre song. Nice thighs, however.

by Anonymousreply 64January 8, 2025 2:24 PM

I never thought he was racist. Black folks cannot be mad at white boys--who've listened to rap music most of their lives--imitating rappers using the N-word. He didn't call some a "Nigger." He used "Nigga" jokingly.

As wack as the explanation is--and believe me, I UNDERSTAND that it's absurd, it's STILL a "legitimate" difference.

Look...we're talking about generational differences, here. DL will not understand it. Just like my parents don't understand MY generation using "Nigga" as a term of endearment OR the older gays not understanding using fag or queer in the same way.

Somethings aren't even worth understanding.
