Mandela effect. I thought he was already dead.

by Anonymousreply 2March 9, 2023 11:38 PM

OP you are what my Grandmother would call a “crepe hanger” or someone who gets some weird pleasure from announcing deaths to others. You need a new hobby.

by Anonymousreply 3March 9, 2023 11:40 PM

Heaven gained a murderer. Sweet.

by Anonymousreply 4March 9, 2023 11:41 PM

I loved him in Los Highway

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 5March 9, 2023 11:41 PM

He was crazy but he was perfect in "In Cold Blood." Even looked a lot like Perry Smith. I don't think he killed Bonny Lee Bakley. She was a grifter. She had a lot of enemies.

by Anonymousreply 6March 9, 2023 11:46 PM

R3 you must be new here.

by Anonymousreply 7March 9, 2023 11:49 PM

I forgot he bear the murder rap. Thought he was in prison.

When will stupid old men, especially famous ones, learn to wrap their dicks if fuck women under 50.

by Anonymousreply 8March 9, 2023 11:51 PM

R6, I think he did it but she was a head A scumbag and there were plenty of people who didn’t mind that she was dead. Very unsympathetic victim.

by Anonymousreply 9March 9, 2023 11:52 PM

[quote] she was a head A scumbag

A what now?

by Anonymousreply 10March 9, 2023 11:54 PM

Grade A scumbag.

Oh, for an edit button…

by Anonymousreply 11March 9, 2023 11:56 PM

He was a fantastic actor...he and Anne Heche had the same crazy intensity that always pulled me in. They were both kind of nuts, or at least disturbed.

by Anonymousreply 12March 9, 2023 11:57 PM

He was batshit crazy and ugly as fick. Thus, having to get involved with a serial grifter whore like Bakley. I too thought he was already dead.

by Anonymousreply 13March 9, 2023 11:59 PM

His tv show Baretta was a hit.

by Anonymousreply 14March 9, 2023 11:59 PM

In Cold Blood is one of my all time favorites. One of a few movies I can rewatch multiple times. I have an autographed photo of Scott Wilson .

by Anonymousreply 15March 10, 2023 12:06 AM

Any clips of him doing pull-ups in his underwear in that film, Electra Glide In Blue?

by Anonymousreply 16March 10, 2023 12:14 AM

You can take that to the bank!!!

by Anonymousreply 17March 10, 2023 12:23 AM

Robert Blake called ugly by Orson Welles.

by Anonymousreply 21March 10, 2023 12:26 AM

I'd have done him back in the day, but he couldn't live forever...

by Anonymousreply 22March 10, 2023 12:27 AM

I think he killed her. He was great as Perry, for sure.

by Anonymousreply 23March 10, 2023 12:28 AM

Wasn't he the last of the Little Rascals/Our Gang kids? Are there any still alive?

by Anonymousreply 24March 10, 2023 12:28 AM

Awww. That's a shame. He was a terrific director. I can't decide whether my favorite is Breakfast at Tiffany's or the Pink Panthers.

by Anonymousreply 25March 10, 2023 12:30 AM

He was a hot little twunk back in the day.

by Anonymousreply 26March 10, 2023 12:33 AM

R24 - I would think so - he was one of the youngest alums.

by Anonymousreply 27March 10, 2023 12:34 AM

R24, Sidney Kibrick is alive at 94.

by Anonymousreply 28March 10, 2023 12:34 AM

Like all nuts, he was a good actor. What a weirdo. Rest in whatever.

by Anonymousreply 29March 10, 2023 12:34 AM

He was textbook Ugly Hot.

by Anonymousreply 30March 10, 2023 12:37 AM

He was also in Treasure of the Sierra Madre.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 31March 10, 2023 12:37 AM

by Anonymousreply 32March 10, 2023 12:38 AM

R3 is not a Datalounger.

by Anonymousreply 33March 10, 2023 12:38 AM

89 is long life .

by Anonymousreply 34March 10, 2023 12:38 AM

Too late to make the In Memoriam on the Oscars?

by Anonymousreply 35March 10, 2023 12:41 AM

He was great in In Cold Blood. I enjoyed all his 'inside' references to Sierra Madre. They had nothing to do with Perry Smith, never mentioned in Capote's book, but referenced Blake's first film as a child where he worked opposite Humphrey Bogart.

by Anonymousreply 36March 10, 2023 12:42 AM

Why haven't they turned the murder case into a TV movie by now? I'm disappointed.

Who could have played Bonny?

by Anonymousreply 37March 10, 2023 12:44 AM

r24 r28 Isnt Terry Kilburn also part of that group of actors?

by Anonymousreply 38March 10, 2023 12:45 AM

How many more husbands would Bonnie have had had her life not been so tragically shortened?

by Anonymousreply 39March 10, 2023 12:49 AM

He's in heaven reunited with Bonnie now, I suppose...

by Anonymousreply 40March 10, 2023 12:50 AM

Bastard ruined Vitello's for me- it was my favorite Italian restaurant in that area.

by Anonymousreply 41March 10, 2023 12:51 AM

Whatever you think of his guilt or innocence, he had a fantastic career. Our Gang, acting in films with legends like Joan Crawford, his own series Barretta. Not bad for a little guido like him.

by Anonymousreply 42March 10, 2023 12:53 AM

I eat old people’s excrement.

by Anonymousreply 43March 10, 2023 12:54 AM

[quote] His tv show Baretta was a hit.

And he fucked it up. Here he finally had this great gig, a successful tv series, and he was so troublesome that it all got ruined. What a disturbed man he was.

by Anonymousreply 44March 10, 2023 12:58 AM

Good riddance

by Anonymousreply 45March 10, 2023 12:58 AM

Had to look him up as I didn't recognize the name. Sidney Kibrick played one of Butch's buddies. He's still alive. Thanks R28.

. . .

by Anonymousreply 47March 10, 2023 1:10 AM

He had a very abusive childhood. His parents were monsters according to a story he told on an interview show.

by Anonymousreply 48March 10, 2023 1:14 AM

Celebrities die in threes. First was Tom Sizemore and now Blake. Will another male celeb be the third or will be a female celeb?

by Anonymousreply 49March 10, 2023 1:23 AM

I hate to brag, but I think I mentioned his name in one of DL's Celebrity Death Watch threads.

Orson Welles must've gotten fat "jokes" a lot. His retort sounded like something he had ready just in case.

Vitello's did seem like a nice, old school Italian restaurant. I wouldn't mind eating there.

Shuch a shweet little man.

by Anonymousreply 54March 10, 2023 1:47 AM

The death to close out the hat trick will be a woman, undoubtedly.

by Anonymousreply 55March 10, 2023 1:48 AM

I loathed his deze, demz and doze act. It was so fucking phony. He moved to LA with his family from New Jersey when he was five.

by Anonymousreply 56March 10, 2023 2:00 AM

R25 Go back to sleep Rose. You were talking while awake again.

by Anonymousreply 57March 10, 2023 2:03 AM

by Anonymousreply 58March 10, 2023 2:10 AM

That whore deserves what she got.

by Anonymousreply 59March 10, 2023 2:14 AM

I thought this would become the next OJ case in the press because it was so obvious he did it. But the press wasn't much interested in it because he was old and ugly and a has-been when it happened, and because both he and the murder victim were so impossibly seedy.

by Anonymousreply 60March 10, 2023 2:17 AM

The murder of his wife ruined his career - or what was left of it.

by Anonymousreply 61March 10, 2023 2:21 AM

Rose mentioned Hell Town on The Golden Girls.

by Anonymousreply 62March 10, 2023 2:24 AM

I loved him as Baretta, but he treated his Daughter Rosie ( the daughter with BLB) like dirt. She tried to reconnect with him, even though he killed her mother. He did talk to her and then told her he didn't want to talk to her again. Miserable bastard. R.I.P.

Here's daughter Rosie. She doesn't seem to have any undue bad feelings towards R. Blake. Rosie was raised by a much-older sister, actually (an older daughter of R. Blake).

I really really really thought he was dead already.

Maybe I have been confusing him with Phil Spector of all people?

by Anonymousreply 70March 10, 2023 2:56 AM

I’m just always grateful he gave us his son Noah, who was gorgeously muscular and always open-shirted or -vested, or else shirtless, on the syndicated TV series version of “Harry & The Hendersons” in the ‘80s.

A professional manipulator and whore, gets her ass blown away. Robert Blake was a national treasure.

by Anonymousreply 85March 10, 2023 3:35 AM

Robert Blake/Michael Gubitosi was a complete asshole. Yes, his parents were the worst and his psychotic mother was schizophrenic. I can understand him needing to get away from them. He lived much of his childhood in the second-floor apartment of my family home, with my great-aunt Margaret. The only one in the family that took care of him and gave him love and affection. When she died in 1987, he couldn't have cared less. Fuck you Michael Gubitosi...

Signed your third cousin Joe, who became Margaret's world and I hope she never gave your selfish ass another thought.

She was warm, kind, and strict, as a devout Catholic, but she was my favorite aunt.

by Anonymousreply 86March 10, 2023 3:44 AM

Topol was second; Robert Blake was third.

by Anonymousreply 87March 10, 2023 4:50 AM

Perhaps it's been more than three.

Ricou Browning, the Creature From the Black Lagoon, died March 1.

by Anonymousreply 89March 10, 2023 5:10 AM

R85, Blake was no prize himself, why do you think he married her? But I guess she deserved to die because she was a "whore"

by Anonymousreply 90March 10, 2023 5:12 AM

R86, he SUPPORTED his a-hole parents and siblings from the age of THREE. That's bound to make some people a little crazy...

by Anonymousreply 91March 10, 2023 5:21 AM

Thanks, R73. I was trying to remember that catchphrase of his.

by Anonymousreply 92March 10, 2023 5:27 AM

R81, R87 - R74 already mentioned the third, Topol.

by Anonymousreply 93March 10, 2023 5:31 AM

His character Mickey was the absolute WORST of the Our Gang comedies....especially when he had to cry.....well maybe Janet was worse....but he was a close second.

by Anonymousreply 94March 10, 2023 5:41 AM

R93, I was addressing R81, who asked if Topol was the third.

by Anonymousreply 95March 10, 2023 5:44 AM

I thought his Johnny Carson appearances were very funny. He was such a mess...one time he did an appearance where he was wearing a shirt turned inside out. It was funny as hell.

by Anonymousreply 96March 10, 2023 5:50 AM

Yes, R95, but if R81 read through the thread R74 already addressed it - no further queries necessary.

by Anonymousreply 97March 10, 2023 5:52 AM

I didn't make a 'query,' R97. I made a comment, which I have every right to do, your sock-expressed annoyance notwithstanding.

by Anonymousreply 98March 10, 2023 5:57 AM

[quote][R24], Sidney Kibrick is alive at 94

by Anonymousreply 101March 10, 2023 6:03 AM

R96, his appearances on Tom Snyder's Tomorrow Show were a freak show. A freak show with a full ashtray. Those were the days.

by Anonymousreply 102March 10, 2023 6:24 AM

A long haphazard chaotic life, but hopefully now at peace.

He had a long run. RIP Mr. Blake.

by Anonymousreply 107March 10, 2023 9:51 AM

I read his harrowing autobio. What a weird, wild life. And Baretta was one of the best TV shows ever.

by Anonymousreply 108March 10, 2023 10:00 AM

I genuinely thought he died a couple of months ago. Was there an article about him being sick, maybe?

by Anonymousreply 109March 10, 2023 10:01 AM

I watched Baretta when I was a kid. Blake wasn't ugly or handsome. He was an appealing little character.

Jimmy Kimmel was a dick to do that to Robert Blake's family. They're still in the mourning.

He had a batshit crazy appearance on Piers Morgan's CNN show after he was acquitted for killing his ho. Started off wearing a leather jacket then moved to a leather vest, no shirt underneath. I think he may have threatened to walk off and I believe Piers told him he felt threatened or that Blake wanted to fight him. Ranted about owning half of Santa Monica, blah blah blah. His dad's brother was his daddy which meant that the man who raised him hated him because he was the product of an affair that his wife had with his own brother. A complete mess. I'm surprised he made it to 89, but I guess that's just a testament to his scrappy nature.
