When she was a hot commodity, they probably would've wiped her ass if she asked them too, so it's hard to believe they weren't funneling the best material they could find to her.

Whatever the case, none of this does her any favors because it cements in people's minds that she's the bitchy mean girl, who was the tide has turned on her, claims she was never responsible for the stuff she did.

r268 That's not how it works. CAA gets 10% of the booking fee, unless its Tom Cruise, who was able to negotiate a lower percentage 15 years (or more) ago.

At that level, there's no fighting over projects. Queally's agenting Winslet and Blanchett at the same time proves that. An agent at that level doesn't fight to get roles for anyone. They cover the industry. If it is a big role with a great filmmaker, all she can do is set a meeting and hopes it goes well, then negotiate a contract. Which is largely left to legal. If its a studio gig, the studio knows if it wants Winslet or Blanchett more and makes an offer. The only fight an agent can put up is getting their client a meeting with the director.

Ultimately, its up to the financier and director to decide who they want to go to first. And there's no shame in going to Winslet after Blanchett turned a role down, or vice versa. At that level, it's all about if they want to do it, if the meeting with the director goes well, if they have notes on the script and how well those are received, and what the financier is willing to pay.
