Pros:
A really inventive opening scene.
Melissa's acting is a lot better.
Ghost Billy only appears twice and briefly.
The violence is really brutal, one of the most of the franchise.
Gale lives, just barely, but she puts up a hell of a fight before getting stabbed a few times. Dewey's lame death is NOT repeated.
Lot of eye candy for the gays and girls.
Lot of nods to past killers who aren't Billy and Stu.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | March 9, 2023 6:47 AM |
Cons:
A romance subplot between Jenna Ortega and Mason Gooding, who have 0 chemistry.
The main killer (there are multiple) kind of flops during the motive scene at the end
I'm sure I'll have more thoughts but wanted to get this rolling for my fellow Horror Queens..
by Anonymous | reply 2 | March 9, 2023 6:50 AM |
Who’s the killer or killers?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 9, 2023 6:50 AM |
R3 Richie's Dad and two siblings. Dad is no Debbie Salt, I'll say that much. He wasn't bad, but you of course immediately compare it to the end of Scream 2, and there's only one Laurie Metcalf.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | March 9, 2023 6:54 AM |
Two siblings? Names?
BTW, motive?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | March 9, 2023 6:55 AM |
Oh, god, they’re pulling a Scream 2? The last film was god-awful. It was Scream on a budget. How are people interested in this stale shit that’s repeating itself?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 9, 2023 6:56 AM |
R5 I was trying to be a little vague in case someone falls in by mistake.
The motive is revenge for Richie. Obviously.
R6 if you hated 5, give this one a chance. It's definitely an improvement.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 9, 2023 6:57 AM |
There's also a nod to real world conspiracy theories. It's widely chatted by the Scream version of QAnon idiots that Sam was the killer in 5 and framed Richie and Amber.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 9, 2023 6:59 AM |
Did anyone watch the MTV series? How’d they keep the Ghostface killer thing going with that?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | March 9, 2023 8:47 AM |
If true, Gale should live though they’ve not really written her up to par in 4 or 5.

by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 9, 2023 10:44 PM |
From what I’ve heard, Gale’s chase/kill is one of the best in the franchise.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 9, 2023 11:02 PM |
R15 correct. They very much did not give her a lame scene like Dewey's death.
One thing that's funny: in every movie from 3 on, they use ONE photo from Courteney and David's marriage. It's like in the decade or so that they were together, Gale and Dewey picked up a camera ONCE
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 9, 2023 11:30 PM |
Wait, Gale died? Noooooooo!

by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 9, 2023 11:58 PM |
I do have some issues with the way they’ve written Gale since 3. She’s a really popular character, she’s also badass like Sidney, but more interesting. She didn’t really have any great scenes in either 4 or 5. It sounds like she finally gets a good one in 6, but she’s almost defeated and doesn’t take out a Ghostface. Maybe I’ll be happy with the fight she puts up and Ghostface didn’t end of killing her so I don’t know. I feel they’ve really missed a lot of opportunities with her character. Kevin Williamson was originally going to make her the center of one of the newer films when he was still involved along with Dewey. Reportedly Gale was Wes’ favorite characters and forbid her being killed off.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 10, 2023 12:01 AM |
From what I’ve heard, this movie is very satisfying and subverts who you think will die and I am actually very happy about what was done.
The only negative I’ve heard is how the last act plays out. Apparently, it went a tad campy (this is one aspect of Scream I wish they’d nix).
In the end, I’d like Sidney and Gale being the sole survivors.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 10, 2023 12:08 AM |

The NYT review has a funny mention of Neve Campbell.
it’s also the first “Scream” without Neve Campbell’s Sidney, which goes to show that Hollywood contract negotiations are more horrifyingly fatal than any cinematic maniac.

R28 you and I have very opposite feelings. He's VERY hot, but the character is a nothing burger. They need to throw him on the body pile in 7.

by Anonymous | reply 34 | March 10, 2023 12:35 AM |
It's pretty obvious who at least two of the killers are. When you see a character covered in blood but didn't actually see them attacked? Likely fake. Then that character has a family member who is also in the film, vowing to avenge the (fake) death. Well, there's two Ghostface killers.
There are technically five in this film.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | March 10, 2023 12:46 AM |
Yes, the opening is clever and you won’t see it coming.
Yes, there are technically 5 GF killers.
CC does look good. Really good.
Sidney wasn’t missed. It becomes too much about her in every film. Others need to shine which is why I agree Gale should have been given more.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 10, 2023 12:49 AM |
At the theater about to watch so as I go in the last 5 minutes of the last show are on and I see who all survives just as another character runs up naming the 2 killers and the others add a 3rd name.
Usually when I enter a theater the shit on screen is Maria Menounos or the M&Ms.
Oh well I'm sure I'll still enjoy it.

She did something and she has fucked with her face since 2016 because she looked horrible in part of that Friends reunion. She looked good, to me, in part 4. She looked old, but good, in part 5. She looks older, but better than part 5, in part 6.

This movie tells us that Gale never spoke to Ghostface on the phone before now. That's interesting but it's true. I kinda hope that they don't bring Sidney back after this. Gale can carry the nostalgia on her own.

While attending the star-studded screening, the 58-year-old Friends star and teenager, 18, who she shares with ex David Arquette, rocked a black minidress, velvet blazer, semi-sheer tights and a pair of matching stilettos.
The Golden Globe nominee completed her look with a pair of gorgeous hoop earrings, a $17,500 diamond Tennis necklace and one-of-a kind white gold onyx and diamond circle ring by Jennifer Meyer.

by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 10, 2023 3:25 AM |
Throughout the movie, I went back and forth on whether or not I liked this. By the end, I decided I did. It' a step up from 5, even though it still has issues with the writing, casting and even worse killers.
The opening felt like something out of Tales from the Crypt. Very refreshing for this franchise. But I wish Samara Weaving had a bigger role. Maybe have her be the fakeout death and Richie's sister instead of Lianna Liberato.
Dermot Mulroney and Hayden Panettiere are hilariously bad. Especially the former.

They limited Sidney Prescott when they made her a mom. It was dumb for her to leave the kids at home to run around after GF killers in Scream 4. Leave that to the authorities, lady! Stay at home with her kids who need you.
Gale is the True Final Girl in this franchise.

R59 you mean 5? It made sense. Dewey, the only useful cop was dead. She could either go on the offense and kill the killer or what for them to show up at her door.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | March 10, 2023 4:55 AM |
It really didn't make sense for a mom of three to charge into the fray like that, putting herself at risk. She should've been in the Witness Protection Program if she was truly afraid... if any of this were based in reality, which it's not.
Anyway, I'm glad she's gone. Her story is complete.

I guessed the killers both times because duh… all this series is now is a tired retread with minority actors instead of whites and where the equation is minorities=good, white people=bad. Welcome to the new Hollyweird racism. So the killers in this one are the white family avenging the white killer from 2022
Even the girl who taunts the Melissa B character on the street is white. Whities are the worst!!! So evil!!!

R68 and they still can't have a gay or bisexual MALE character, despite the fact that the series was created by a gay man and the movies have a huge gay male fanbase
Instead we get a lesbian, who gets to make out with a girl in Scream 5 AND survive
In all honesty, the straight guy Scream fans, judging from Facebook groups, would have an epic snowflake meltdown if they brought on a gay/bi male character, these are the same people who have been calling ALL gay men groomers ie pedophiles but they sure have no problems with lesbians
Gay men really do get treated the worst

They could EASILY bring back Parker Posey as Jennifer Jolie in Scream 7
Yes she was stabbed and shot once but she fell to the floor and was never confirmed dead, Gail, Dewey and Sidney survived worse
They could continue having Jennifer be obsessed with Gail Weather's and she left acting to become a reporter like Gail and the two go at it as rivals
Hilarity ensues

There's a scene in the trailer with Dermot with a gun and a bruise on his head. I thought there's no way they would put that in the trailer so I was in the minority that it wasn't gonna be him. I thought it was going to be Ethan and Quinn or Ethan and Anika. I knew the motive would have something to do with either Richie or Amber. So overall I would say this was a pretty easy Scream to figure out. Next time they shouldn't reveal so much in the trailer.

R87 - NYT says : In one of its gruesome kills, a knife doesn’t just go for the throat, it shoves it down and twists....There are a couple of truly frightening, patiently established suspense scenes, including one inside a subway car during Halloween that’s filled with people in costumes of horror villains, including multiple Ghostfaces. It’s a nicely staged vignette that, in keeping with the spirit of “Scream,” operates as a meta commentary on the glut of scary movies. But it’s tricky business balancing disturbing terror and jokey film criticism, and while this sequel occasionally pulls it off, the weight of obligations to the dictates of the franchise ultimately drags it down."

I think Eva Longorria should play the mother of Jenna and Melissa in the inevitable Scream 7.
Whiole you saw people in costumes, the city didn't look particularly seasonal.
I enjoyed the movie. Many of the set pieces were fun. I was partcularly disturbed by the bodega and subway scenes. I think in the next one, the two sisters should be the Ghostfaces getting revenge on asshole social media types and just end the franchise on that note.

The Yellowjackets actress almost had her arm cut off but the following scenes didn't show even the bulk of a bandage through her shirt. Then she got stabbed in the stomach on the subway and was running around and joking with the other survivors at the end of the film.
Were the directors drunk when they filmed this? I know it's ~a movie~ but c'mon. At least characters in his Scream movies staggered around after getting attacked.

^That should read, "Wes would never." I just woke up.
Dewey survived the first Scream and limped in every scene afterwards until he was killed. Maybe David Arquette is a better actor than I've given him credit for.

Yeah, it happens over & over again in the movie. To me, the worst case of this was Chad. We see him repeatedly stabbed in the chest with big ol' hunting knives by 2 Ghost Faces simultaneously, yet he's still found alive some time later. I mean, even if he hadn't died immediately, wouldn't he have bled out before then?
I think Mason Gooding is hot, so I'm glad he lives to see another sequel -- but I can only suspend my disbelief so far.

I like Scream 2 only slightly better. Laurie Metcalf is always brilliant. I love how the surprises still shock after you haven’t seen it in a while. And Jada’s opening scene shows what a natural she truly is. She has great screen presence and sinks into the role.
But the first is a classic and set the standard. Scream made me fall in love with filmmaking.

Thank god Courtney barely has a role in this.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | March 12, 2023 2:42 AM |
It was much better than 5, but it was still kind of lacking. The opening sequence was great. Melissa's acting improved. The conspiracy plot point was done well. Neve wasn't missed.
The rest was... meh. The twist was fine, but it was easy to predict that Ethan was part of it. Both Mindy and Chad should have died from their injuries. Mindy is an insufferable character with her explanation about the rules.
Speaking of which, this franchise's hook about being meta really doesn't work in 2023, because everything is meta and self-aware now. But that won't stop a Scream 7.

The reveal scene would have worked if they had cast a better actor as Bailey. Dermot is a serviceable actor but that's it. To pull off camp, you need to have a good sense of timing and be able to know when to turn it up to eleven, dip back down so it isn't just non-stop screaming, and then turn it up again. Laurie Metcalf has that precision, which is why the ending of Scream 2 worked even though up until that point, Debbie was a peripheral character. They should have cast a Broadway actor who does some TV; maybe Brian D'Arcy James.
Mindy should died. Have her and Gale survive their attacks back to back really brought down the tension, and I choose Gale surviving over her any day. That said, I don't think Courtney looked any less awful in this one compared to 5, just less bloated in the face. Kirby's work was more distracting though; her face from under her eyes to her top lip is completely frozen.
But over all I really liked it, much more than 5. The beginning kills, the bodega, Gale's apartment, and the subway scene were the stand outs.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | March 12, 2023 2:24 PM |

I think he needed her to be his alibi. She could vouch that he wasn’t the Ghostface who stabbed her.
But really, how could he count on her surviving?
I guess all the legacy characters ended up stabbed and survived. Maybe not Samantha? There was a lot of stabbing in this one. Even barely featured actors with a couple of lines ended up stabbed.

Sure the acting is nothing to write home about it's a Scream film after all so I wasn't bothered by that. I was disappointed that it ended up being Dermot. From the moment he was announced, everybody said he was going to be the killer so they really should've went with somebody else.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | March 12, 2023 11:45 PM |
The consensus is right: the kills brutal, the chase sequences thrilling, and the opening brilliant. On the other hand, you could see the killers and motives coming from a mile away. Also, I just can't warm up to the "core four." They're all so annoying and unlikable.

Dermot. He talked about applying Quinn's makeup and the son was at the study group giving him an alibi.

I loved the kills but hated the characters you were positive were going to die didn't. There were Fucking 4 of them!
Mindy - pretty much gutted in the subway.
Chad - 2 GFs were repeatedly stabbing him and he lived
Kirby - got shot and bled like a stuck pig but she's okay
Gale - amazing chase sequence but the EMTs save her. I guess it's kind of the pass because she's the only OG character.
And the fat ginger is 'murdered' but lives

Some thoughts after watching it for a second time =
I guess Harvey's bro was the one listed in the end credits.
Ethan being able to make a yell for another kill round (after being "knife twisted" in the throat) made me LOL the second time I viewed it.
Sam stabbing cop dad so many times with little to none blood splatter was so unrealistic.
Film girl getting out of the hospital (after being stabbed in the stomach) to go see anyone is so unbelievable.
Little troll sis can run up to a multiple stabbed victim, take off his oxygen (so considerate) in order to plant a selfish kiss was also unbelievable. The fact that he can talk & didn't have more blood on him clothes/body was also unbelievable.
No major character died in this other than film girl's galpal who we just met & really didn't care for much as a character. Everyone knew she wouldn't make it across that ladder as the final person to go across. She was bleeding out so much on the bed but as she went across the ladder not even a drop LOL! So unbelievable.
by Anonymous | reply 176 | March 15, 2023 8:19 AM |
Also Gayle shows no outrage/concern for her token black boyfriend who was just killed seconds ago & was making jokes was just poor character development. She should've had Dewey flashbacks in some manner at the time. Also if Quinn was the one to kill him how did she throw his bigger muscled body thru that wooden thing so easily not to mention overpower him in that struggle behind Gayle so easily/quickly?).
I call bs on so many things in this film. No one knows cop dad 's son was a famous killer before he was hired onto the force? Not Gayle or any other reporter in the crowd? Not Kirby, Sam, Film girl or Little troll sis? The minorities getting offed by whites (other than last film's Asian girl - the first minority Ghostface ) is so unbelievable. So out of 12 Ghostface killers only 1 non-white killer & 4 female killers. Yeah that's believable. This franchise needs a reboot more than it needs tired old Sydney or painful to look at Gayle in the driver's seat again.
I like Kirby but I struggle to believe her character as a FBI agent. She needs to eat something & the film never reveals if she really was a FBI agent or was taken off for her Ghostface issues as it was implied. Lots of problems with this film compared to the other ones that came before it.
I prefer the first 4 films over the last 2 based on the scripts. I hope the Core Four gets taken down to one in the next film (Sam being the last one alive) & maybe she or Gayle sees Dewey like we have to put up with the Billy visions. This one was too afraid to pull the trigger on killing any major character. No guts & no glory for it.
by Anonymous | reply 177 | March 15, 2023 8:37 AM |
The directors said they felt guilty about killing Dewey and thus didn't want to kill any legacy or new character in this latest installment. I highly suggest that they kill one of Sam, Tara, Mindy, or Chad in Scream Seven. They're all so charisma free and this Core Four being all minorities just screams (pardon the pun) stunt casting.

Regarding the lack of concern for Gale's bf R177 - she was fighting for her life and trying to work out where the killer was, do you expect her to break down in tears and leave herself open to attack?
I agree that you have to have a slight suspension of belief when it comes to how the killers manage to do everything and they often get a beating themselves and then later show up without any visible effects, but I'm not looking for super realism here so it doesn't really take me out of it.
I thought it was pretty damn obvious that the cop just made up that story about Kirby being kicked out of the FBI. Oh and it did show her eating something!
I do agree that there needs to be Core 4 offed assuming 7 will feature them again.

Hasn't always been that way. After Mickey crashed the cop car at the end of Scream 2, when he revealed himself as a GF, he had a huge bruise on his face. This was Wes Craven's attention to detail that the new filmmakers simply don't have. Maybe the Core Four have supernatural abilities and that's why injuries don't affect them? If you told me that Scream 6 didn't really happen and was Sidney Prescott's fever dream, I'd probably buy it.

R180 Gayle was like ho hum & even made a joke shortly after her boyfriend's body was tossed on the floor.
She was basically over him before his corpse hit her luxury flooring. Maybe Cox just can't cry on cue during phone calls LOL.
Also she left herself open to attack by leaving her locked closet where she stored her gun (which is how she ended up in the hospital clinging to life). Did you not see this film or pay close attention?

- Everyone just came off as an asshole, like the twins didn't seem phased at all by the situation and neither did their mother.
- Why would Sam be seeing Billy exactly as he was in the final act?
- What was the point of Liv, Kyle Gallner's character or Wes (aside from mentioning his name a bunch of times)?
- Dewey's death was brutal but also stupid as was the whole abandoned hospital sequence and only leaving Tara with one police officer to protect her.
- Seeing Sidney and Gale in Stu's kitchen again just seemed completely ridiculous. The killers motive didn't really work for me either and i feel like Amber's actress was trying way too hard. I'm supposed to believe that bitch took Dewey out?

R221 what has she been through?
by Anonymous | reply 222 | March 19, 2023 6:48 PM |
I suspected Amber but never thought she would reveal herself by randomly killing Liv out in the open. Her reveal was definitely the best but her motive was the worst and made no sense at all. I still think 6 has some problems but I’ll take the old revenge motive over the reboot/requel motive.

Yellowstone Park, Rose.

One of the nice things about the new film is that it gives a shout out to all past killers and not just Billy and Stu. People associate Billy and Stu with Ghostface but I think Jill was arguably the most ruthless killer. She killed her mother, boyfriend, and friends for fame. Scream 4 had a contemporary relevance with 2011 being the height of social media.
by Anonymous | reply 225 | March 20, 2023 1:09 AM |
Scream 3 is still the most fun Scream movie to watch and Roman the best Ghostface
Also rumors are that Jennifer Jolie will be back in Scream 7, she didn't die after all
The new film has a nod to her too

Jill was awesome, and I wish they would have let her live. She would've been a huge star from death row, all those incels fighting to do things for her.

R226 I just watched S3 again & I like it better than I remembered.
I forgot that the Mark in this one survived & is Sydney's baby daddy.
The black guy's fate in this one (was also presumed by some to be still among the living even thought he bled out so much) but I hope he's not brought back as he is a Elon Musk fan, against woke left politics & comes across as a fundie ala the Sister Sister gals that he co-starred with. He also is a big fan of P. Rashad who tirelessly defended creep Bill Cosby.

I think we can all agree Richie was the worst Ghostface. He made Amber do all the dirty work, his motive was lame, and nepo baby Jack Quaid was really not that menacing or attractive for that matter.

Top: Scream 1 and Scream 4. Memorable deaths, funny moments, strong villains. Story keeps moving.
Middle: Scream 2, Scream, 3, Scream 6. Strong deaths, funny moments, but some weak sections remain.
Bottom: Scream 5. Wholly unoriginal, boring rehash, unlikable actors.
by Anonymous | reply 230 | March 20, 2023 4:32 AM |
OP is an idiot with shit taste if he thinks 3 with DL Patron Saint Parker Posey was the worst in the series.

Personal Ranking: 2,1, 3, 6, 4, 5
I love the college setting in 2, felt so late 90s.
by Anonymous | reply 232 | March 20, 2023 4:34 AM |
Number 1 will always be the best! Followed by number 2.
4, 5, 6 and 3 have some great highs and lows. Some great characters and set pieces. Some really great opening scenes and some bad ones. The ending reveals can be both amazing and horrible.
Overall a great series where even the less than sequels are better than and more consistent than most horror franchises.

I take it you missed the street fight Hayden got into with her abusive boyfriend. I was surprised she came back for Scream 6.

Why does everyone hate on 4? I liked it a lot. 5 wasn't bad either.
I like they're subverting the opening has to have a kill and the main cast have to die. Very clever.
by Anonymous | reply 235 | March 20, 2023 1:14 PM |
Scream 5 wasn't a Scream film. It wasn't even a horror film. It was a dreadful comedy.
by Anonymous | reply 236 | March 21, 2023 12:44 AM |
The end when Gale smashed the Vodka bottle on the girl GF and kicked her into the flames lighting her up was epic.
by Anonymous | reply 237 | March 21, 2023 12:52 AM |
R233 yes even the "worst" Scream is still pretty good, which a lot of franchises cannot say.
And dear cunt at R231, name some great things about that movie that aren't Jennifer Jolie. (crickets) exactly. And Parker herself isn't even a fan of it.
by Anonymous | reply 238 | March 21, 2023 1:02 AM |
This was absolutely terrible. Ghostface was more powerful than I have ever seen him - Jason Vorhees level of stabbing and stalking. I don't know why they are trying to salvage all of this shitty. None of them with the sheer force they were stabbed would be able to be up and just walk it off. Gale would have been dead as a door nail. The black girl who got stabbed in the stomach with a huge blade on the subway was bandaged out and spewing witticisms in the final scene. Her brother would be dead. Terrible cast. Courtney Cox was the only thing to getting excited about and she's going too far with all the surgery - it was distracting.

Change the order R233. 3 & 4 are way better than 5 & 6. Anyone who can't see how bad the fifth movie really is, remains part of the problem.
by Anonymous | reply 242 | March 21, 2023 3:00 AM |
Scream 1,2,3 are the only ones that count. It's becoming too formulaic, but I'm glad a new audience gets to enjoy it. Nothing will ever be as clever without Wes Craven.
by Anonymous | reply 243 | March 21, 2023 3:01 AM |
I liked 4, I thought Jill's motive was good/solid. It's all about the motive for me. If it's something lame like "the Stab movies suck now, and we're trying to revive them!1," I lose interest. My only problem with 4 is the Culkin kid. He looks like a villain plus he's puny. I could kick his ass and I'm nothing special.
Billy, Mrs. Loomis, Roman, Jill, and the Baileys had the best motives. Amber and Richie had the worst. Stu, Mickey, the Culkin kid, and the two random GFs from 6 were meh.
by Anonymous | reply 244 | March 21, 2023 3:07 AM |
I thought Courteney looked good. She looked older in 5. She had some good shots of her in 4. She looks more natural and prettier.
The Scream series is, by far, the most consistently good horror franchise. They stay very faithful to the formula without going to space, or being a zombie supernatural killer. The excessive stabs and surviving them is a Scream staple. It’s kinda of their thing. Dewey was the obvious example. EVERY movie has seen multiple people, Sydney and Gale, stabbed or shot multiple times and walk around. At the end of 5, Sydney and Gale, shot and stabbed, aren’t even rushed to the hospital! They’re sitting in the ambulance chatting away. That would NEVER happen, but it’s a part of Scream.

Dermot Mulroney was no Laurie Metcalf that's for sure.
by Anonymous | reply 246 | March 21, 2023 3:21 AM |
Debbie Salt/Mrs. Loomis was the greatest villain in the series. Laurie Metcalf is brilliant.

That's a shame.
[Quote] I liked 4, I thought Jill's motive was good/solid. It's all about the motive for me.
Her monologue at the end wasn't very good. But Jill was definitely the most fucked up.

I think the kills are brutal but boring. Where are the kills like Rose McGowan getting her tits stuck in the garage door? The whole cast practically lived. The only kills were throwaway characters.
by Anonymous | reply 249 | March 21, 2023 5:30 AM |
[Quote] The only kills were throwaway characters.
That's one of the problems. Olivia's death in Scream 4 was brutal but the character wasn't exactly memorable. And Anthony Anderson's was just silly.
by Anonymous | reply 250 | March 21, 2023 5:44 AM |
R250 is an idiot. R249 is clearly talking about Scream 6 in which far too many new main cast members survived. Stop hating on Scream 4. It's hilarious, bloody and never becomes boring. The franchise needs to lean into more female killers. Mrs. Loomis & Jill are still the funniest, craziest, most memorable killers. They embrace the camp. The straight guys just come off as crazy rapist incels. Not as fun.
by Anonymous | reply 251 | March 21, 2023 5:51 AM |
R214 Jill didn't kill the publicist in the garage, Charlie did. He's a guy. Men are stronger than women and he could've easily tossed her off the roof. Jill killed Charlie once she no longer had need of his services. That's another thing Scream 5 & 6 didn't do: have the killers turn on each other like they did in 1, 2, and 4.
by Anonymous | reply 252 | March 21, 2023 6:01 AM |
R251. Thank you for helping make one of my points. The "white guy killers" aren't very convincing in their acting/selling the roles/motivations. Maybe if the first 2 guys were revealed to be lovers that would've helped them out in that area.
by Anonymous | reply 253 | March 21, 2023 6:04 AM |

What's the problem with that?
by Anonymous | reply 254 | March 21, 2023 6:33 AM |
R251 grow the fuck up. Scream 6 was not the only one that had throwaway characters get killed. I don't have to share the same opinion as you on Jill or Scream 4. Get over yourself.
by Anonymous | reply 255 | March 21, 2023 6:57 AM |
Kirby needed to eat something? I thought she looked fat... and they couldn't hem her jacket sleeves so they're not covering her hands? Plus she had a country accent somehow
by Anonymous | reply 256 | March 21, 2023 7:04 AM |
None of the deaths in 6 were important characters, even if the kills were fun (the opening, the ladder, etc)
by Anonymous | reply 257 | March 21, 2023 8:32 AM |
Who cares if they weren’t important. I loved how subversive it was to NOT kill any of the main characters. It was shocking and I loved it!
The one who wants a lot of the characters killed is a racist who rants about “white killers” and “the minorities who lived.” Fuck off Klan POS.
by Anonymous | reply 258 | March 21, 2023 10:49 AM |
R258 calm your tits hun. When you have scenes like the subway and Chad getting gutted with at least 10 stab wounds and they’re just like…eh we’re fine, it undermines the scenes.
Unlike a lot of DL, I like Mindy but Chad is basically pointless but pretty.
by Anonymous | reply 259 | March 21, 2023 11:30 AM |
I'd rank them: 1 > 2 > 3 = 4 > 5 = 6
They messed up Scream 3, but Sarah Darling had a great scene; Jennifer Jolie was a wonderfully comic character; Angelina Tyler had a fun moment; I liked the jealous sibling twist, as well as the Maureen Roberts backstory. It had Carrie Fisher as well.
Scream 4 was imperfect as well, but Emma Roberts' monologue at the end was one of the best scenes in the franchise. Kirby was a great new addition.
I just don't think Scream 5 and 6 are going to age well. Jenny Ortega is the only good thing about them. Otherwise, I hate the "Core Four."
by Anonymous | reply 260 | March 21, 2023 11:35 AM |
I know Brian Tyler is their guy and he’s fine, but his music doesn’t touch Marco Beltrami. Should’ve kept him on.
by Anonymous | reply 261 | March 21, 2023 11:43 AM |
Jill Roberts beating herself up was pretty awesome. They should have ended the movie there -- the hospital scene was trash.
by Anonymous | reply 262 | March 21, 2023 1:58 PM |
Dermot and Henry Czerny should’ve switched roles. I think Henry would’ve been a much better papa Ghostface.
And whoever created/approved the main poster should be blacklisted. What a piece of shit.
by Anonymous | reply 263 | March 21, 2023 2:49 PM |
I know Billy is like the Beyonce of Scream but Jill really is an underrated Ghostface. The other killers just wanted to kill Sidney. Yes Jill wanted to kill Sidney too but she did it for fame and the way she beat herself up to look like a victim/hero - a true psycho. Also, Jill did kill the publicist (Allison Brie). Charlie was talking with Trevor and Gale when she threw her body off the roof. She killed the publicist because the publicist wanted Sidney to leave Woodsboro.
by Anonymous | reply 264 | March 21, 2023 7:33 PM |
Roman was the cutest and by far the smartest Ghostface - worked alone, bulletproof vest, tricked his victims, multiple voice changer, waited patiently for years to attack Sidney. He is the real GF. Part of me also feels bad for him - abandoned by his own mother.
by Anonymous | reply 265 | March 24, 2023 3:16 AM |
Some of the men that raped Maureen must have been goodlooking and non Harvey-looking.
by Anonymous | reply 266 | March 24, 2023 3:39 PM |
R264 I hated Emma Roberts’ shrill voice, such an annoying bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 267 | March 26, 2023 9:05 AM |
Nothing is better than the first one. Billy Loomis and Stu. I can get over the suspension of disbelief that Emma Roberts who weighs 90 lbs soaking wet or Laurie Metcalf who doesn't weigh much more would be able to commit the murders.
Ala Scream, I had a friend who was convinced those Sorority murders in Idaho were committed by a woman, a close friend, and I was like there is no way. I was correct.
