An even better picture

Wish he'd had more of a career after Adam-12.
I need to find Route 66 on streaming so I can watch him on that with another of my faves, Glenn Corbett.

Very cute and good looking guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||March 8, 2023 5:03 AM|
He was one of my partners when I was on Password. Amazingly striking looking man, and I got to sit just a couple feet away.

Weird, just caught some of him in what I think was his first role, one of the redhead sons in Life With Father on TCM!
Thought he looked familiar there and confirmed on IMDb. Good timing.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||March 8, 2023 5:41 AM|
[quote]Ooooh,[R4] please tell us more!
He was on with Greg Morris of " Mission Impossible." The thing I remember the most is that was very friendly, unlike some of the others. We spoke through the commercial breaks; he didn't ignore me, as " Timmy's mother" had done on a previous show. I remember his very attractive eyes and, most importantly, we won.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||March 8, 2023 9:49 PM|
Oh, no, R4/R8! Don't tell me my beloved June Lockhart wasn't rude/cold to you!
|by Anonymous||reply 9||March 8, 2023 10:08 PM|
Before my time but I sometimes catch the show on MeTv (it's on right now) Him and his partner were so hot in there uniforms
|by Anonymous||reply 10||March 8, 2023 10:35 PM|
He was on a Twilight Zone episode, Mirror Image, with Vera Miles.

Dan R8. Greg Morris was fine as hell, too.

A while ago, I watched "Adam-12" all the way through. That's my favorite time period nostalgia-wise. I loved looking at all the places and people of LA at that time. Both of the men were hot.

Shame on you Queens...
Mel : You're spending a lot more time than necessary with that fag.
Neely O'Hara : Ted Casablanca is NOT a fag... and I'm the dame who can prove it.

R8. Cool. That’s more than I could ever say about spending several days with Alex Trebek—he was a dick until my 4th of 5 days. I felt like saying—oh, now you’re friendly ;)

Kent McCord, Randolph Mantooth & me = a teen-age wet dream 🤤
|by Anonymous||reply 17||March 9, 2023 12:16 AM|
R14. I love looking at those areas of LA. They seemed to film in areas that rarely get seen in TVMovies.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||March 9, 2023 12:17 AM|
Love him and Kent on Adam 12 and watch it daily on MeTV. He was a BABE in his day.

For those who like feet...
|by Anonymous||reply 20||March 9, 2023 12:20 AM|
I'm convinced that his "Pete Malloy" held a torch for Kent McCord's "Jim Reed" in Adam 12. It was all in the care and concern that he showed for Reed in several episodes. Malloy rarely had a serious girlfriend, and would often rebuff the advances of several women, including those who Jim and his wife attempted to fix him up with.

The dirty secret of Adam-12, and Dragnet…a full-on PR campaign by William Parker, long-time LAPD chief (he created the modern LAPD in the image of the Marine Corps—literally). He was not a good guy, and there was long-lasting damage from his “reign.”

Nothing against Martin Milner, but Sharon Tate was the only person in that movie who came across as a real human being.

When I was a lot younger, I went to the San Diego-area house where Martin Milner lived. His son (who was living with Martin Milner) was a friend of a friend. No, I didn't go inside the house, but I do remember looking into the house (through a window or an open door) and seeing dog shit on the floor (not carpeted), inside the house. The son was talking about the housekeeper or something. I just remember not liking that there was dog shit on the floor.

[quote] "Nothing against Martin Milner, but Sharon Tate was the only person in that movie who came across as a real human being."
And her performance is so endearing because it's similar to her own story. She was the natural choice for the role. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about Sharon Tate as a person (outside of tabloids blaming her for her own murder, suggesting it was due to nefarious activities).
And I don't think they would have even if she hadn't been a victim in one of the most brutal crimes of the Twentieth Century. By all accounts, she was as beautiful internally as she was externally. I mourn her when I watch this film.

He can't handle the dialogue in Sweet Smell of Success as well as Burt Lancaster and Tony Curtis but he looks good.
|by Anonymous||reply 34||April 1, 2023 8:40 PM|
In the musical version of "Sweet Smell", Milner's part was played by former (WHET) DL fave Jack Noseworthy. It starred John Lithgow, Brian D'Arcy James, and a very young Kelli O'Hara.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||April 1, 2023 8:52 PM|
He was also in 'The Private Lives of Adam and Eve' and 'Sex Kittens Go to College' opposite Mamie Van Doren from cornball producer Albert Zugsmith.
He was in the William Castle production '13 Ghosts' and child actor Charles Herbert said Marty was mean to him and jealous because Charles got top billing.....

I watch Route 66 every morning on Me TV+. Episodes now are currently airing ffrom Season 3.
Route 66 also streams on Amazon's FeeVee. However, they do have commericials in them.
Milner is luscious in Route 66.

I was a contestant on Password and Martin Milner was one of my partners, the other one being Greg Morris of " Mission Impossible." Martin was an absolutely beautiful person in looks and personality. At times, I found it difficult to concentrate, because I was just thinking," Take me right here, right now." The best part about it was that we won.

r23 Parkers legacy was far more complicated than you mention. He actually cleaned up the rampant corruption in the department as was the mandate given him by the LACC.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||July 21, 2023 12:49 AM|
Sorry, Charlie…quoting the LAT on Parker is a non-starter.
Ask anyone who actual historical experience directly with the LAPD…’cause you clearly don’t.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||July 21, 2023 1:02 AM|
LAPD has never been clean. Parker > Rampart > Rodney > Riots. A continuum that’s lasted decades and still goes on.

R51 so you have nothing....
|by Anonymous||reply 53||July 21, 2023 1:10 AM|

|by Anonymous||reply 59||July 21, 2023 1:33 AM|
Yeah, Mike Davis. He is a one trick pony. I didnt say that Parker was perfect by any means but he isnt defined by only race relations and the 60s. lets not be binary thinkers.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||July 21, 2023 1:33 AM|

|by Anonymous||reply 62||July 21, 2023 2:04 AM|
Marty was major league beautiful back in the day. I've always been partial to hairy chested blonds. They are so scarce. Him paired with the staggeringly gorgeous Kent McCord set my young loins afire in the 60s and 70s. The thought of them pulling off into an alley when they called in for a code 7, and having a go at each other was fodder for many a wet dream back in the day.

|by Anonymous||reply 65||July 21, 2023 4:28 PM|
As a 9 year old boy, rushing home from school every afternoon to catch Milner in Adam-12. I wasn't able to understand it or have the vocabulary to express it- but, yeah, I lusted after that man.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||July 21, 2023 4:49 PM|
He was a true beauty. I remember crushing on him watching reruns of Route 66 and Adam 12. Years later I saw the film Life With Father (1947) for the first time and I recognized him as one of the teenage sons. He was probably 14-15 in the attached photo, upper left. He had a pretty good career, and by all accounts he was an around good guy.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||July 21, 2023 5:12 PM|
Malloy would've been the bottom, Jim the top.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||July 21, 2023 5:16 PM|
I don't know, I think they both would have been vers.
|by Anonymous||reply 69||July 21, 2023 8:40 PM|
Jim was so innocent and naive at times. Malloy definitely could have hit that if he’d have worked the angle right.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||July 21, 2023 8:54 PM|
He was ute, but Kent McCord did it for me...
|by Anonymous||reply 71||July 21, 2023 9:46 PM|

Kent McCord at 80 and he's still a fine, sexy hunk of man.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||July 21, 2023 10:33 PM|
I met Kent several years back at a convention, and he is not only still very handsome, but he gives quite a strong handshake.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||July 21, 2023 11:05 PM|
A friend sent me a video - yes it was that long ago - of Marty and Kent playing on Bowling With the Stars or some such nonsense.
Their opponents were Angie Dickinson and Joseph Campanella.
Marty and Kent were both smoking like chimneys even when the were throwing the balls. They were hilarious in their comments and were both very handsy with Angie which she didn't mind at all.
Angie & Joe won!
I've posted this before but it's hilarious......Reed & Malloy on Laugh-IN.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||July 22, 2023 5:45 PM|
That Bowling with Celebs episode used to be available for streaming. I don't remember Kent smoking (or either of them being handsy), but Marty was definitely lighting 'em up.

I 100% agree and have always felt the same. My personal theory has always been that Malloy was closeted and secretly in love with Reed. (And on some level, perhaps Reed was in love with him, too, particularly given how badly he and his wife got along sometimes.) All of which is just fanfic, I realize, but that's the way I saw it.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||July 23, 2023 1:02 AM|
R79, I agree, and there is a fanfic out there that has a similar scenario in which you've described. If I can find it, I'll post the link here.

Reed helped a little boy get out of a tree once - I think this was around the time his wife gave him a son.
That protective daddy stuff always turns me on.

Route 66 had a TON of homoerotic content. The evil Rod Steiger kidnaps Martin Milner, ties him up, gags him and leers at him. In another, Marty and George Maharis rent an expensive hotel room where there's only a single, queen size bed, George lays down and motions for Marty to join him.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||July 24, 2023 10:57 PM|
Martin Milner's The Twilight Zone episode, "Mirror Image", is on tonight on MeTV. Also starring Hitchcock fave Vera Miles.
|by Anonymous||reply 91||August 5, 2023 3:51 AM|
Marty drew me to the show, but it was Kent McCord who grabbed my attention- such glossy hair, white teeth, and an awesome chin.
I’d transfer this lust to Richard Hatch during the BattleStar Galactica years and welcome Kent back for a B G tv movie.
|by Anonymous||reply 92||August 5, 2023 4:15 AM|
McCord couldn't act for shit, but who cared? I never listened to him anyway, as I was picturing him naked.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||August 5, 2023 12:28 PM|
So did he get the gig because Jack Webb had a hard on for him?
|by Anonymous||reply 94||August 5, 2023 3:56 PM|
[quote]Marty drew me to the show, but it was Kent McCord who grabbed my attention
I read an article about the show recently in which someone said the producers must have been crazy. Why on earth did they choose to make Reed played by Kent McCord -- who would no doubt be the main draw for female viewers -- the boring family man and make Malloy played by the older Martin Milner the single one? Given the obvious sex appeal of the younger McCord, you'd think they'd have done the opposite.
By the way, I don't think they meant it as an insult to Milner, who was quite handsome in his own right, just saying that from a producer's viewpoint, it made no sense.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||August 5, 2023 4:22 PM|
It was written with Malloy as a bachelor, and since Malloy was the lead character and Milner had better acting chops, they probably decided not to switch the character backstories.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||August 5, 2023 5:02 PM|
Milner was really good in the Route 66 episode "The Thin White Line." His character goes nuts after accidentally downing a drink laced with a psychedelic drug, which was meant for someone else.
|by Anonymous||reply 97||August 5, 2023 5:43 PM|
Martin Milner was cute on Adam-12 (see below), but I much prefer how he looked on Route 66.
|by Anonymous||reply 98||August 5, 2023 8:40 PM|
Well, he was younger in Route 66, which ended in 1964. Adam 12 began four years later, and he still had that youthful look.
|by Anonymous||reply 99||August 5, 2023 9:05 PM|
[quote] George lays down and motions for Marty to join him.
And since Maharis was a well known lover of the peen I can just guess what was going through his mind during the filming of that scene.
|by Anonymous||reply 100||August 5, 2023 10:29 PM|
R31 and R75 make me chuckle, because right this minute on FETV (streaming) is an episode where Malloy didn't realize his driver's license had expired (his Sgt. busted him during the shift lineup/inspection), and Reed gets to drive.
Malloy is PISSSSSED!
