According to her account, she only started singing the role correctly once she left the Broadway show and performed Evita abroad in Australia. The whole experience sounds like a fucking nightmare.

OP, it sounds like you feel sorry for her for some reason, and for some equally obscure reason you expect us to feel sorry for her too.
Why would we?? This was forty-five years ago, and her career survived.

I just don’t understand. She was cast in the role. When was she going to figure out and admit to herself and the producers that she really wasn’t comfortable hitting those stratospheric notes?
She does have three Tonys. I guess that speaks for quite an accomplishment.
