And Trump is ready to tweet about how awful some actress looked and that also she is the worst actress of all time.

by Anonymousreply 1February 26, 2023 9:27 PM

Ever since they joined up with the weather people and local on-air personalities, why would anyone pay a bit of attention to their choices. They made themselves a joke and once in a while someone's talent is too overwhelming to overlook and coincides with celebrity & popularity so they manage to sound reasonable for that one moment.

SAG at one time was the real deal - even more than the Oscars - and it sacrificed that for the more powerful union. SMDH.

by Anonymousreply 2February 26, 2023 9:28 PM

Enough of the Klan Granny nonsense, OP. That is strictly for Meghan and the Spare, neither of whom are part of this tonight, as far as I know.

May the best actors win.

by Anonymousreply 3February 26, 2023 9:43 PM

Team Colin. No blubbering, fragile, fat ex-stars and no five-headed noobs who can’t speak with their genuine voice.

by Anonymousreply 4February 26, 2023 9:49 PM

Lifetime Achievement Award - Sally Field

by Anonymousreply 5February 26, 2023 9:51 PM

#SAGsoboring

by Anonymousreply 6February 26, 2023 9:52 PM

[quote] And Trump is ready to tweet

He still tweets?

by Anonymousreply 7February 26, 2023 9:53 PM

I DECLINED a SAG award

I can't watch, I don't subscribe to Netflix.

by Anonymousreply 10February 26, 2023 9:55 PM

No, Rose. Trump sent smoke signals about Rihanna at the Super Bowl.

by Anonymousreply 11February 26, 2023 9:56 PM

R10 You don't need to this year. It'll be on YouTube.

Next year, it moves exclusively to Netflix.

by Anonymousreply 12February 26, 2023 9:57 PM

I want it on Netflix now though. Watching it via a YouTube channel is annoying, at best.

by Anonymousreply 13February 26, 2023 10:00 PM

[quote]DL Klan Granny's

Oh, dear.

by Anonymousreply 14February 26, 2023 10:04 PM

I might be wrong…but I’m going to call it now and see if I’m right that Michelle Yeoh beats Cate Blanchett tonight

by Anonymousreply 15February 26, 2023 10:30 PM

Is the same dude doing the red carpet for E?

by Anonymousreply 16February 26, 2023 10:37 PM

R16, No E! red carpet coverage for the SAGs.

by Anonymousreply 17February 26, 2023 10:39 PM

Another jerk off awards show? How much adulation do these overpaid children need?

by Anonymousreply 18February 26, 2023 10:44 PM

Red carpet starting now on YouTube. Jeremy Parsons is cute.

by Anonymousreply 19February 26, 2023 10:48 PM

R12, Thanks!

by Anonymousreply 20February 26, 2023 10:51 PM

JLC got her BEWBS out.

by Anonymousreply 21February 26, 2023 10:52 PM

Can one of you kind bitches post a link to red carpet?

by Anonymousreply 22February 26, 2023 10:54 PM

So looking forward to not watching this and just reading the DL thread.

by Anonymousreply 23February 26, 2023 10:54 PM

Not even on TBS/TNT anymore?

by Anonymousreply 24February 26, 2023 10:55 PM

I’m in Weho. No one cares SAG here

by Anonymousreply 26February 26, 2023 10:57 PM

Thanks @ R26

by Anonymousreply 27February 26, 2023 10:57 PM

Thank you for chiming in for all of Weho. Are you the meisterberger of Weho?

by Anonymousreply 28February 26, 2023 10:58 PM

Faye should get the Lifetime Achievement Award one of these years.

by Anonymousreply 29February 26, 2023 10:59 PM

If Austin Butler wins tonight, I'll assume he's a shoo-in for an oscar. He did do a great job with the speaking voice of Elvis as well as his moves. He gave it his all. As much as I love Colin Farrell, I wouldn't be pissed if he loses to Austin.

by Anonymousreply 30February 26, 2023 10:59 PM

Do they award people who are sagging?

by Anonymousreply 31February 26, 2023 11:02 PM

R31 it’s really more reflective of the key demos. They get saggier every year.

by Anonymousreply 32February 26, 2023 11:04 PM

I hope Abbott Elementary gets cancelled so Sheryl Lee Ralph will go away. I used to love her. (Same goes for JLC.)

by Anonymousreply 33February 26, 2023 11:04 PM

OP please rename this thread: SAG AWARDS are DEAD TO ME.

by Anonymousreply 34February 26, 2023 11:07 PM

Next year I hope we'll be talking about Joaquin Phoenix as Napoleon. He's my favorite actor beginning with To Die For and to my mind, the only one who can challenge DDL as the best. Just a random thought. '

by Anonymousreply 35February 26, 2023 11:12 PM

Love Tyler James Williams look.

by Anonymousreply 36February 26, 2023 11:38 PM

This red carpet is garbage

by Anonymousreply 37February 26, 2023 11:41 PM

Why is this the only award show I ever see Fran Drescher at? Is she president or smthng?

by Anonymousreply 38February 26, 2023 11:58 PM

R38 yes. She is president of SAG-AFTRA

by Anonymousreply 39February 26, 2023 11:59 PM

What are these women wearing??

by Anonymousreply 40February 26, 2023 11:59 PM

Fran Dresher looks good

by Anonymousreply 41February 27, 2023 12:01 AM

These 2 red carpet hosts are trash. The black chick is a disaster.

by Anonymousreply 42February 27, 2023 12:02 AM

Really r42? I think she’s much better than the guy.

by Anonymousreply 43February 27, 2023 12:03 AM

No one sags like Lizzo.

by Anonymousreply 44February 27, 2023 12:04 AM

R43, she asked Sally Field the most awkward questions, about Robin Williams and her memory.

by Anonymousreply 45February 27, 2023 12:05 AM

Great answer by Sally on the red carpet. Lol

by Anonymousreply 46February 27, 2023 12:05 AM

Sally Field looks lovely. One of my younger brothers has had a huge crush on her for ages. I think that is all Sally's hair. Her wearing glasses is endearing to me.

Fran could hit it. She:'s truly a beautiful lady who has aged very well. Great figure!

by Anonymousreply 47February 27, 2023 12:06 AM

[quote]And Trump is ready to tweet about how awful some actress looked and that also she is the worst actress of all time.

That's "female actor" NOT actress, if you please.

by Anonymousreply 48February 27, 2023 12:07 AM

The Woman King has arrived

by Anonymousreply 49February 27, 2023 12:07 AM

Only two more ceremonies until Cate Blanchett retires.

Something to look forward to.

by Anonymousreply 50February 27, 2023 12:08 AM

Viola looks smashing and beautiful as always.

by Anonymousreply 51February 27, 2023 12:09 AM

These 2 are so lame that the actors are running away from them

by Anonymousreply 52February 27, 2023 12:09 AM

R50 why do you think Cate will retire? She has a few movies and TV show coming down the pipe

by Anonymousreply 53February 27, 2023 12:10 AM

Danielle for best actress.

No more smug bitches.

by Anonymousreply 54February 27, 2023 12:10 AM

R51 Violas annoying husband

by Anonymousreply 55February 27, 2023 12:11 AM

Lame red carpet

by Anonymousreply 56February 27, 2023 12:12 AM

Cate said she longed to return to Australia to work in her garden.

She'll be reduced to giving these stern, self-important speeches to clerks at her local garden centre.

by Anonymousreply 57February 27, 2023 12:12 AM

Pencil neck said she would retire. Even though it was most likely a pathetic grab for Oscar three she should be held to her word.

Most insufferable actress currently working So people even watch her movies anymore?

by Anonymousreply 58February 27, 2023 12:15 AM

Laura Linney just came from an oil spill.

by Anonymousreply 59February 27, 2023 12:17 AM

Even the people of Australia can’t stand how smug she is.

by Anonymousreply 60February 27, 2023 12:19 AM

Uhm take your ass to the Cate Blanchett thread to wax poetic about her future plans, lame stalker

by Anonymousreply 61February 27, 2023 12:21 AM

Let's continue ripping the overrated bitch apart.

by Anonymousreply 67February 27, 2023 12:32 AM

Eddie has gotten much gayer with his awards show attire

by Anonymousreply 68February 27, 2023 12:32 AM

Michelle Yeoh wearing the remnants of a paper shredder.

by Anonymousreply 69February 27, 2023 12:32 AM

Why is Eddie dressing so feminine lately. Is he transitioning?

by Anonymousreply 70February 27, 2023 12:32 AM

Angela Bassett is doing the thing in that dress

by Anonymousreply 71February 27, 2023 12:33 AM

Cate’s retirement is the only good thing from this award season.

by Anonymousreply 72February 27, 2023 12:33 AM

Looks like Eddie has breasts in that photo at R66

by Anonymousreply 73February 27, 2023 12:36 AM

Is Eddie wearing a skirt?

by Anonymousreply 74February 27, 2023 12:38 AM

I'm always in awe of Angela Bassett's magnificent cheekbones.

by Anonymousreply 75February 27, 2023 12:40 AM

Cate looks amazing!

(Sorry, haters!)

by Anonymousreply 76February 27, 2023 12:41 AM

WTF is this?!

Aubrey Plaza thinks it’s the BET Awards.

by Anonymousreply 78February 27, 2023 12:42 AM

Aubrey Plaza in DC’s Legion of Superheroes?

by Anonymousreply 79February 27, 2023 12:42 AM

Aubrey Plaza is really leaning into being the “it” girl

by Anonymousreply 80February 27, 2023 12:43 AM

I hate Jessica Chastain. There I said it.

by Anonymousreply 81February 27, 2023 12:43 AM

R76 Yes, from the neck down.

by Anonymousreply 82February 27, 2023 12:43 AM

R47 she does - and it’s a double challenge to dress for the red carpet not just as an older woman but a shorter woman. Conventional wisdom as to what type of dresses to choose for an awards show at that age don’t really work well on someone 5’2”.

by Anonymousreply 83February 27, 2023 12:44 AM

Cate is threatening retirement if she doesn’t get her Oscar. It’s their last chance to give her one. gasp

Jamie Lee is telling people that if you give her the Oscar it’s an award for a POC because Michelle Yeoh made her and asked for her specially to be the movie.

These actresses are coming up with some really ballsy bullshit to get a trophy this year.

by Anonymousreply 84February 27, 2023 12:46 AM

It looks like Audrey's breasts are down in her ribs

by Anonymousreply 85February 27, 2023 12:47 AM

Shit, Bill Murray looks awful.

by Anonymousreply 86February 27, 2023 12:47 AM

[quote] Fran could hit it.

Fran who?

by Anonymousreply 87February 27, 2023 12:47 AM

Cate Blanchett does not deserve a third Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 88February 27, 2023 12:48 AM

"Austin Butler, tell us about your struggles."

Really, interviewers.

by Anonymousreply 89February 27, 2023 12:48 AM

This mess.

by Anonymousreply 90February 27, 2023 12:48 AM

OMG Austin Butler is still speaking with the Elvis voice. My goodness. LET IT GO

by Anonymousreply 91February 27, 2023 12:48 AM

Austin is a phoney

by Anonymousreply 92February 27, 2023 12:49 AM

Austin is way too skinny, which in turn is narrowing his face. The Oscars are in two weeks. Eat some burgers and ice cream to fill out more before your potential big night dude.

by Anonymousreply 93February 27, 2023 12:49 AM

[quote]Fran could hit it.

Hit what? That doesn’t even make sense.

by Anonymousreply 94February 27, 2023 12:49 AM

Austin will overdose.

by Anonymousreply 95February 27, 2023 12:49 AM

Who is this fat man?

by Anonymousreply 96February 27, 2023 12:50 AM

Sally Field really came with her tits out?

by Anonymousreply 97February 27, 2023 12:50 AM

by Anonymousreply 98February 27, 2023 12:51 AM

R90 damn! She can still get it. (I think that’s what they meant, not hit it)

She has to be almost 70.

by Anonymousreply 99February 27, 2023 12:52 AM

Fuck off with the Klan Granny nonsense OP. You’re a double digit IQ moron.

by Anonymousreply 100February 27, 2023 12:52 AM

I can't with the voice and the exploitation of the Lisa Marie tragedy. Just give him the Oscar so he doesn't go on to anything of significant substance ever again.

by Anonymousreply 101February 27, 2023 12:53 AM

[quote]Shit, Bill Murray looks awful.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 102February 27, 2023 12:53 AM

by Anonymousreply 103February 27, 2023 12:53 AM

For all the Cate haters on here, she doesn’t give a fuck what you think ok.

by Anonymousreply 104February 27, 2023 12:53 AM

R102 he’s looked that way for at least 15 years. He’s fine he sends his love.

by Anonymousreply 105February 27, 2023 12:54 AM

Bill Murray looks like Grandpa Joe from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

by Anonymousreply 106February 27, 2023 12:54 AM

Bill Murray is Irish. They age terribly.

by Anonymousreply 107February 27, 2023 12:55 AM

[quote]These actresses are coming up with some really ballsy bullshit to get a trophy this year.

Privilege, if you know what I mean. Cate also gets major side eye for participating in that sketchy Andrea Riseborough shit as well. She knows what she's doing.

All the shit Viola gets, she would never be THIS desperate to get an oscar.

by Anonymousreply 108February 27, 2023 12:56 AM

I refuse to watch unless Angela does the thing.

by Anonymousreply 109February 27, 2023 12:56 AM

SAG is at best the diversity trophy, a consolation prize for the minority/POC runner-up to the Oscar. Either way, if Michelle wins or loses it, she's not winning the Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 110February 27, 2023 12:56 AM

Ooops. Forgot to vote.

by Anonymousreply 111February 27, 2023 12:58 AM

Is Austin Butler only going to do interviews as his latest character from here on out? Is that it? He annoys me to no end.

by Anonymousreply 112February 27, 2023 1:01 AM

Selena looks like she's had work done on her face.

by Anonymousreply 113February 27, 2023 1:02 AM

Again with the tables.

by Anonymousreply 114February 27, 2023 1:02 AM

[quote] All the shit Viola gets, she would never be THIS desperate to get an oscar.

Honey, she says that anyone who doesn’t see her awful projects are racist and goes on and on about how she’s worth so much money. She’s a desperate cunt.

by Anonymousreply 115February 27, 2023 1:02 AM

I am not liking the "old lady" look Sally Field has been sporting lately. I know shes no spring chicken, but she was always one of those who can pull off looking a decade younger...easily.

by Anonymousreply 116February 27, 2023 1:02 AM

R114 Are you new? SAG has always done tables.

by Anonymousreply 117February 27, 2023 1:03 AM

[quote] SAG is at best the diversity trophy, a consolation prize for the minority/POC runner-up to the Oscar. Either way, if Michelle wins or loses it, she's not winning the Oscar.

That’s not the way it works.

by Anonymousreply 118February 27, 2023 1:03 AM

I love Niecey, but that bit went on too long.

by Anonymousreply 119February 27, 2023 1:03 AM

The crowd went wild for JLC

by Anonymousreply 120February 27, 2023 1:04 AM

Can't stand this woman

by Anonymousreply 121February 27, 2023 1:04 AM

JLC's dress is hideous.

by Anonymousreply 122February 27, 2023 1:04 AM

R107, he's 72. What's he supposed to look like?

by Anonymousreply 123February 27, 2023 1:04 AM

JLC has her Tits hanging out

by Anonymousreply 124February 27, 2023 1:04 AM

So sick of JLC.

by Anonymousreply 125February 27, 2023 1:05 AM

JlC bit was too long. Annoying and boring nepotism granny

by Anonymousreply 126February 27, 2023 1:05 AM

This is JLC way of saying she earned her way in Hollywood on her own and not because she’s a nepo baby

by Anonymousreply 127February 27, 2023 1:05 AM

That dress doesn' tlook good on that Abbott Elementary shortie.

by Anonymousreply 128February 27, 2023 1:06 AM

The Abbot Elementary people arggh

by Anonymousreply 129February 27, 2023 1:06 AM

R116 I know people always rag on actresses keeping the same hairdo but - she really should have kept the same hairdo - it still worked for her beautifully.

Like I said before - it’s tricky dressing when you’re short though - she typically wore shorter dresses or suits to these type of shows, but I guess you get to a point where you don’t want or show your legs anymore (there are alwsts tights though)

by Anonymousreply 130February 27, 2023 1:06 AM

Enough already

by Anonymousreply 131February 27, 2023 1:06 AM

Don't worry it will all be in short videos on youtube. You'll be able to see it all later. When you want.

SAG, a shadow of its former self.

by Anonymousreply 132February 27, 2023 1:06 AM

Geez that Quinta Brunson woman has a huge forhead.

by Anonymousreply 133February 27, 2023 1:07 AM

Are these 2 black women the hosts of this thing?

by Anonymousreply 134February 27, 2023 1:08 AM

Viola Davis has a very gummy smile. I guess she's too cheap for gum contouring.

by Anonymousreply 135February 27, 2023 1:08 AM

Who is wearing the mask behind Viola?

by Anonymousreply 136February 27, 2023 1:09 AM

R136: Jessica Chastain.

by Anonymousreply 137February 27, 2023 1:09 AM

Zendaya always changes her dress for awards shows. She has a red carpet dress and then an inside dress lol

by Anonymousreply 138February 27, 2023 1:11 AM

Zendaya is so so pretty

by Anonymousreply 139February 27, 2023 1:11 AM

PAUL MESCAL 😍😍😍😍 my babe

by Anonymousreply 140February 27, 2023 1:11 AM

So, that was Jamie Lee's pitch and plea. Like Laura Darn continuing to remind voters people both her parents were also actors.

by Anonymousreply 141February 27, 2023 1:11 AM

Why is Taron Edgerton there?

by Anonymousreply 142February 27, 2023 1:11 AM

R138, don't blame her... with a body like this . I would be showing it off in every dress

by Anonymousreply 143February 27, 2023 1:12 AM

Someone please tell me what the hell this voiceover situation is?!? It is ruining the entire experience. “Niecy smiles from her table.” What is happening?????

by Anonymousreply 144February 27, 2023 1:12 AM

Niecy Nash was robbed.

by Anonymousreply 145February 27, 2023 1:13 AM

lol the "fall"

by Anonymousreply 146February 27, 2023 1:13 AM

Niecy should have won. Or Amanda Seyfried.

by Anonymousreply 147February 27, 2023 1:13 AM

Paul Mescal looks so nervous.

by Anonymousreply 148February 27, 2023 1:13 AM

I think you may be on the descriptive video feed, r144.

by Anonymousreply 149February 27, 2023 1:14 AM

Bitch, come up with your stunts.

by Anonymousreply 150February 27, 2023 1:14 AM

Jessica, STFU

by Anonymousreply 151February 27, 2023 1:14 AM

play her off

by Anonymousreply 152February 27, 2023 1:15 AM

Lol r144

by Anonymousreply 153February 27, 2023 1:15 AM

“We are what our thoughts create”? Really, Jessica?

by Anonymousreply 154February 27, 2023 1:15 AM

[quote]Why is Taron Edgerton there?

Egerton is nominated for best performance - male in a TV miniseries or movie for Black Bird.

by Anonymousreply 155February 27, 2023 1:15 AM

MIichelle Yeoh is tiny

by Anonymousreply 156February 27, 2023 1:16 AM

Bet Courtney Vance won't be jumping out of his seat to help someone up the stairs again tonight.

by Anonymousreply 157February 27, 2023 1:16 AM

That dress Yeoh is wearing looks like the stuff you fill a box with before shipping.

by Anonymousreply 158February 27, 2023 1:16 AM

Yeoh's dress was designed by Ore-Ida.

by Anonymousreply 159February 27, 2023 1:17 AM

Love Aubrey Plaza but that dress is a no

by Anonymousreply 160February 27, 2023 1:17 AM

I could see Plaza's whole plaza.

by Anonymousreply 161February 27, 2023 1:18 AM

Why was Jessica wearing the mask until her category came up and suddenly it’s gone.

by Anonymousreply 162February 27, 2023 1:19 AM

The SAGs always have the most unpredictable winners.

by Anonymousreply 163February 27, 2023 1:20 AM

It seems SAG doesn't like Jeffrey Dahmer series

by Anonymousreply 164February 27, 2023 1:20 AM

She's in a play in NY. She's probably worried about getting covid like many did during the Globes.

by Anonymousreply 165February 27, 2023 1:20 AM

Sam Elliot has great hair

by Anonymousreply 166February 27, 2023 1:21 AM

At least they didn't give it to that Ryan Murphy alum Evan Peters.

by Anonymousreply 167February 27, 2023 1:21 AM

The Jeffrey Dahmer series was unsettling and I think the actors who vote nominated it because it was worthy but won’t reward a show that glorified a killer.

by Anonymousreply 168February 27, 2023 1:21 AM

For my money, Sam Elliot should’ve won for Lifeguard, back when he was PRIME beef!

by Anonymousreply 169February 27, 2023 1:21 AM

R165 she should have stayed home

by Anonymousreply 170February 27, 2023 1:21 AM

There was a blind about Chastain throwing a tantrum at the Globes because the servers who were serving them drinks etc. weren’t wearing masks.

by Anonymousreply 171February 27, 2023 1:22 AM

Something from the Yellowstone universe actually won.

by Anonymousreply 172February 27, 2023 1:22 AM

Wtf is happening?

by Anonymousreply 173February 27, 2023 1:23 AM

Sam Elliott is a great actor but he didn’t deserve this award

by Anonymousreply 174February 27, 2023 1:23 AM

R170: She obviously doesn't give a shit about Broadway because her Hollywood film career will always be waiting for her. The last time she was on Broadway she didn't get good reviews.

by Anonymousreply 175February 27, 2023 1:23 AM

There are 2 Youtube streams of the Awards from Netflix 1) Regular stream and 2) Audio descriptive stream.

The regular stream currently has 186k people watching.

by Anonymousreply 176February 27, 2023 1:24 AM

She probably wants EGOT.

by Anonymousreply 177February 27, 2023 1:24 AM

Well deserved win for Jessica.

by Anonymousreply 178February 27, 2023 1:24 AM

[quote]Next year I hope we'll be talking about Joaquin Phoenix as Napoleon. He's my favorite actor beginning with To Die For and to my mind, the only one who can challenge DDL as the best. Just a random thought.'

Agreed on all accounts, but DDL did have an advantage being born into luxury and exposed to the best schools/training.

Joaquin was literally born dirt-poor in a shack in Puerto Rico (while his parents were missionaries for that crazy cult) and then afterward performed on the streets with his siblings to make ends meet before they hit it big in Hollywood. He never went to high school.

by Anonymousreply 179February 27, 2023 1:25 AM

No, he is not, r91. And don't even pretend that you've seen the movie.

by Anonymousreply 180February 27, 2023 1:26 AM

[quote]The regular stream currently has 186k people watching.

As opposed to the 1.8 million who watched last year’s show on cable TV.

by Anonymousreply 181February 27, 2023 1:26 AM

Half the streaming audience is Brazilian.

by Anonymousreply 182February 27, 2023 1:27 AM

Has Amy Poehler done work to her face?

by Anonymousreply 183February 27, 2023 1:27 AM

What’s up with Adam Scott’s hair?

by Anonymousreply 184February 27, 2023 1:27 AM

R183 looks like it

by Anonymousreply 185February 27, 2023 1:28 AM

Most people probably don’t even know this stream is happening

by Anonymousreply 186February 27, 2023 1:28 AM

Why was Christina so happy for Jean Smart?

by Anonymousreply 187February 27, 2023 1:29 AM

So glad that this Abbot elementary person did not win

by Anonymousreply 188February 27, 2023 1:30 AM

I’m sorry Christina didn’t win

by Anonymousreply 189February 27, 2023 1:30 AM

Wtf is happeneing?

by Anonymousreply 190February 27, 2023 1:30 AM

Quinta's career will go down the shitter in a few years.

by Anonymousreply 191February 27, 2023 1:30 AM

Everyone from Abbot Elementary has become loathsome.

by Anonymousreply 192February 27, 2023 1:30 AM

Whats wrong with Jean Smart ?

by Anonymousreply 193February 27, 2023 1:31 AM

who is this pocket gay ?

by Anonymousreply 194February 27, 2023 1:31 AM

Because, r92?

R93, Absolutely. I can see his buccal fat removal from my house. Toothpick legs, too. I don't get it.

by Anonymousreply 195February 27, 2023 1:31 AM

Jean Smart just had heart surgery.

by Anonymousreply 196February 27, 2023 1:32 AM

Heart issues.

by Anonymousreply 197February 27, 2023 1:32 AM

I think I read she had heart surgery, r193

by Anonymousreply 198February 27, 2023 1:32 AM

Snack-sized!

by Anonymousreply 199February 27, 2023 1:32 AM

R193, I wondered the same. I hope she isn't seriously ill. I adore her. I was so glad she won!

by Anonymousreply 200February 27, 2023 1:32 AM

Egads, the shoes on that "tall" dame! Somewhere a KISS member has lost his shoes!

by Anonymousreply 201February 27, 2023 1:33 AM

Gotta stop the gimmicky presentations.

by Anonymousreply 202February 27, 2023 1:34 AM

Yes it is irritating R202

by Anonymousreply 203February 27, 2023 1:35 AM

No, don't give it to Abbot Elementary

by Anonymousreply 204February 27, 2023 1:39 AM

Oh shit is the crazy one gonna sing the speech?

by Anonymousreply 205February 27, 2023 1:41 AM

I was hoping the Abbot Elementary winning streak was over. She never even sounds sincere.

by Anonymousreply 206February 27, 2023 1:42 AM

I like Abbott Elementary, but it's overrated and Ghosts is a much better ensemble sitcom.

by Anonymousreply 207February 27, 2023 1:42 AM

[quote]Sheryl Lee Ralph

EGOTISTICAL CUNT

by Anonymousreply 208February 27, 2023 1:42 AM

Quinta is getting an ego too.

by Anonymousreply 209February 27, 2023 1:43 AM

Jesus fucking Ralph needs to quit fucking posing.

by Anonymousreply 210February 27, 2023 1:43 AM

Tyler James Williams looks fine....

by Anonymousreply 211February 27, 2023 1:44 AM

This award show is really bad these days.

by Anonymousreply 212February 27, 2023 1:44 AM

Flashbacks instead of commercials. I don't get it, just do the show.

by Anonymousreply 213February 27, 2023 1:45 AM

WHET Christine Lahti?

by Anonymousreply 214February 27, 2023 1:46 AM

Nobody needs to see Miss Coozeburger.

by Anonymousreply 215February 27, 2023 1:46 AM

Are they trying to fill out a two hour slot?

by Anonymousreply 216February 27, 2023 1:46 AM

Ugh, fucking Fran Drescher.

by Anonymousreply 217February 27, 2023 1:46 AM

The Jewish Mafia Queen has arrived.

by Anonymousreply 218February 27, 2023 1:46 AM

Amy Pohler. Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig's award shows schtick has lost its luster. It's the same annoying glib, deadpan bullshit that hasn't been funny for about 10 years

by Anonymousreply 219February 27, 2023 1:47 AM

Fran Drescher is the President of SAG. It's like making Gilbert Gottfried President of the Academy.

by Anonymousreply 220February 27, 2023 1:47 AM

Is this a parody?

by Anonymousreply 221February 27, 2023 1:48 AM

Kristen Wiig is absolutely the worst actor ever. She makes my skin crawl.

by Anonymousreply 222February 27, 2023 1:48 AM

Isn't she an anti-vaxxer?

by Anonymousreply 223February 27, 2023 1:49 AM

Wtf is happening?

by Anonymousreply 224February 27, 2023 1:49 AM

Let's make some noise to pass the tax relief for the entertainment industry act.

Barely a whoop.

Fran get the f off the stage.

by Anonymousreply 225February 27, 2023 1:50 AM

Interesting that she's calling out state governors. I wonder if she is hinting at DeSantis or Kemp.

by Anonymousreply 226February 27, 2023 1:50 AM

The Netflix stream on Youtube is now cresting to 208K. But next year, it's supposed to be promoted and streamed live on Netflix itself.

by Anonymousreply 227February 27, 2023 1:50 AM

Emily looks young and hot

by Anonymousreply 228February 27, 2023 1:51 AM

Emily Blunt is such a phoney. I bet she and Krasinksi will be divorced in five years.

by Anonymousreply 229February 27, 2023 1:51 AM

Ugh now a smug JLC speech.

by Anonymousreply 230February 27, 2023 1:53 AM

Angela Bassett looked shook

by Anonymousreply 231February 27, 2023 1:53 AM

Jfc. No

by Anonymousreply 232February 27, 2023 1:53 AM

Will Jamie Lee bring the crazy??

by Anonymousreply 233February 27, 2023 1:54 AM

Oh boy

by Anonymousreply 234February 27, 2023 1:54 AM

Such a lame win.

by Anonymousreply 235February 27, 2023 1:54 AM

JLC is insufferable.

by Anonymousreply 236February 27, 2023 1:54 AM

R231 I'm happy about that. Angela needs to stay in her own lane and away from my thunder.

by Anonymousreply 237February 27, 2023 1:54 AM

I just figured out something. Jamie Lee Curtis is Miranda Hobbes in And Just Like That.

by Anonymousreply 238February 27, 2023 1:54 AM

Please let her speech be the death knell on her Oscar chances.

by Anonymousreply 239February 27, 2023 1:54 AM

geez....

by Anonymousreply 240February 27, 2023 1:55 AM

JLC giving me proper eye roll

by Anonymousreply 241February 27, 2023 1:55 AM

JLC is looking favorable for the Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 242February 27, 2023 1:55 AM

I would love for Kerry Condon to stand up right now and say “You’re feckin’ boring!”

by Anonymousreply 243February 27, 2023 1:55 AM

She's really triggered by the nepo baby thing.

by Anonymousreply 244February 27, 2023 1:55 AM

Her parents were poor immigrants. Poor Jamie, she must have had such a tough upbringing.

by Anonymousreply 245February 27, 2023 1:55 AM

I bet Angela wishes now she’d snuck up on stage with the Abbot Elementary people.

by Anonymousreply 246February 27, 2023 1:55 AM

This smug old bitch

by Anonymousreply 247February 27, 2023 1:56 AM

JLC really needs to let go of the nepo baby backlash

by Anonymousreply 248February 27, 2023 1:56 AM

JLC at least always look age appropriate.

by Anonymousreply 249February 27, 2023 1:56 AM

Oh FFS that speech was insufferable

by Anonymousreply 250February 27, 2023 1:57 AM

If she wins the Oscar, she is gonna top Sally Field's "You like me, you really like me!"

by Anonymousreply 251February 27, 2023 1:57 AM

The only positive outcome from this is if it CONVINCES Jamie Lee she's gonna win an Oscar and she ends up losing.

by Anonymousreply 252February 27, 2023 1:57 AM

Skinny beeyotches "talking."

by Anonymousreply 253February 27, 2023 1:57 AM

Angela BAssett is way too intense. Ugh. And Jamie Leigh Curtis is way to hammy. Whatever.

OMG, Orlando Bloom.....is not aging well.

by Anonymousreply 254February 27, 2023 1:58 AM

Orlando Bloom? Has he been in anything recently?

by Anonymousreply 255February 27, 2023 1:58 AM

Orlando Bloom has a slimy thing about him

by Anonymousreply 256February 27, 2023 1:58 AM

Yes, r248, because it's died down and she keeps bringing it up! Stop, JLC!

by Anonymousreply 257February 27, 2023 1:59 AM

She's fine. She's waited 50 years for this, just let her be as OTT as she wants.

by Anonymousreply 258February 27, 2023 1:59 AM

Orlando Bloom , please be inside me deeply

by Anonymousreply 259February 27, 2023 1:59 AM

Jesus this woman is groveling for that Oscar in the most obnoxious way. It's amazing Winslet and Hathaway were beat up for at least half a dialed down level than this woman and it actually seems to be working in her favor.

by Anonymousreply 260February 27, 2023 1:59 AM

Love Brendan Gleeson

by Anonymousreply 261February 27, 2023 1:59 AM

Did Orlando Bloom have to shag Fran Drescher to get to present the Best Supporting Actor in a Film award? Because there’s no other reason.

by Anonymousreply 262February 27, 2023 2:00 AM

Please don't pick the EEAAO guy!

Too late.

by Anonymousreply 263February 27, 2023 2:00 AM

Why is Redmayne wearing a blouse?

by Anonymousreply 264February 27, 2023 2:00 AM

Barry Keoghan was robbed.

by Anonymousreply 265February 27, 2023 2:01 AM

Feck.

by Anonymousreply 266February 27, 2023 2:01 AM

EEAAO looks like it's going to win in all acting category. Michelle is next

by Anonymousreply 267February 27, 2023 2:01 AM

He is the cryer!

by Anonymousreply 268February 27, 2023 2:01 AM

Good for Quan, but he's a tad much.

by Anonymousreply 269February 27, 2023 2:01 AM

R264 it looked ridiculous

by Anonymousreply 270February 27, 2023 2:01 AM

Gawd, this guy is going to give this speech again.

It gets old.

by Anonymousreply 271February 27, 2023 2:01 AM

EEAAO sweeps? Stay tuned.

by Anonymousreply 272February 27, 2023 2:01 AM

Keoghan is fam, right?

by Anonymousreply 273February 27, 2023 2:02 AM

Can't stand this guy

by Anonymousreply 274February 27, 2023 2:02 AM

Wrong, Ke. Mickey Rooney won for Breakfast at Tiffanys.

by Anonymousreply 275February 27, 2023 2:02 AM

R257, It isn't winning "Best Actor."

by Anonymousreply 276February 27, 2023 2:02 AM

Sun Ting Wong

by Anonymousreply 277February 27, 2023 2:02 AM

Ke Huy was phenomenal in EEAAO

by Anonymousreply 278February 27, 2023 2:02 AM

No, r273.

by Anonymousreply 279February 27, 2023 2:02 AM

Beauty fades, Orlando is just another victim of aging.

by Anonymousreply 280February 27, 2023 2:03 AM

R273 he literally just had a baby very recently

by Anonymousreply 281February 27, 2023 2:03 AM

This whole cast is so over the top and thirsty.

by Anonymousreply 282February 27, 2023 2:03 AM

I actually like these look backs instead of commercials.

by Anonymousreply 283February 27, 2023 2:03 AM

Michelle Yeoh has to win BA.

by Anonymousreply 284February 27, 2023 2:03 AM

Meant r267. R257 is me!

by Anonymousreply 285February 27, 2023 2:03 AM

SAG is the most gay and minority friendly award season voting bloc.

by Anonymousreply 286February 27, 2023 2:04 AM

They're fucking actors, of course they're going to cry and babble.

by Anonymousreply 287February 27, 2023 2:04 AM

Whoppi was not bad looking

by Anonymousreply 288February 27, 2023 2:04 AM

With a few pints under his belt he’s anybodys, R279.

Chadwick Bozeman’s SAG Awards speech reminded me of how insufferably actory he already was and he was only going to get far worse the older he got.

by Anonymousreply 289February 27, 2023 2:05 AM

It seems like an EEAAO evening of winners. SAGs are bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 290February 27, 2023 2:05 AM

WHET Mark Addy?

by Anonymousreply 291February 27, 2023 2:05 AM

Russell Crowe was so hot

by Anonymousreply 292February 27, 2023 2:05 AM

One advantage to watching it on YouTube is no fucking commercials.

by Anonymousreply 293February 27, 2023 2:06 AM

Who is this guy?

by Anonymousreply 294February 27, 2023 2:06 AM

R291 he mostly does TV stuff. Was in Game of Thrones and does some Brit dramas now and again.

by Anonymousreply 295February 27, 2023 2:06 AM

[quote]This whole cast is so over the top

Just mimicking the tone of the movie.

by Anonymousreply 296February 27, 2023 2:07 AM

Whoopi was always a great host.

by Anonymousreply 297February 27, 2023 2:07 AM

OMG. This bomb.

by Anonymousreply 298February 27, 2023 2:07 AM

R107: Well they drink so what do you expect?

by Anonymousreply 299February 27, 2023 2:07 AM

I guess box office poison Margot Robbie didn't want to be any further associated with that turkey.

by Anonymousreply 300February 27, 2023 2:08 AM

King Fag has arrived.

by Anonymousreply 301February 27, 2023 2:08 AM

Andrew Garfield is aging so good. My crush on him just grows. I like.

by Anonymousreply 302February 27, 2023 2:08 AM

Archie

by Anonymousreply 303February 27, 2023 2:08 AM

Harry

by Anonymousreply 304February 27, 2023 2:09 AM

Sally had better get up there and say, "You like me! You really like me!"

by Anonymousreply 305February 27, 2023 2:09 AM

WW for you R301. I laughed out loud.

by Anonymousreply 306February 27, 2023 2:09 AM

Is Garfield drunk?

by Anonymousreply 307February 27, 2023 2:10 AM

Gidget & The Flying Nun? MARY!!

by Anonymousreply 308February 27, 2023 2:10 AM

I think Sally Field is just wonderful, always have.

by Anonymousreply 309February 27, 2023 2:10 AM

Oh god... here we go, the Sally Field Programme

by Anonymousreply 310February 27, 2023 2:11 AM

Jesus. This is SO embarrassing. Who wrote this shit? Andrew Garfield must be drunk. Seriously.

by Anonymousreply 311February 27, 2023 2:11 AM

I like that they can curse and it’s not censored because it’s streaming now

by Anonymousreply 312February 27, 2023 2:11 AM

R309 reminds me of that scene in In N Out when the old dear watching the Oscars says 'I hope that nice Sally Field wins' and her carer says 'but she's not nominated'

by Anonymousreply 313February 27, 2023 2:11 AM

How come they never mention The Girl with Something Extra?

Also, he didn’t mention Sybil.

by Anonymousreply 314February 27, 2023 2:11 AM

Could they have found somebody better to present than La Garfield?

by Anonymousreply 315February 27, 2023 2:11 AM

He’s drunk

by Anonymousreply 316February 27, 2023 2:12 AM

Or Forrest Gump!

by Anonymousreply 317February 27, 2023 2:12 AM

Jaime Lee Curtis should not be winning any awards for that performance. She had fun and did her job, but no. What are SAG members smoking?!

by Anonymousreply 318February 27, 2023 2:13 AM

[quote] How come they never mention The Girl with Something Extra?

Why would they mention Kaitlyn Jenner?

by Anonymousreply 319February 27, 2023 2:13 AM

Sally has always been one of my favorite actresses.

by Anonymousreply 320February 27, 2023 2:14 AM

Does the AFTRA side of SAG-AFTRA get to vote?

by Anonymousreply 321February 27, 2023 2:15 AM

I LOVEEEEE “Hello My Name Is Doris”

by Anonymousreply 322February 27, 2023 2:15 AM

Her performance in Norma Rae truly was brilliant.

by Anonymousreply 323February 27, 2023 2:15 AM

Can't believe they included a clip from 80 for Brady in the montage

by Anonymousreply 324February 27, 2023 2:16 AM

Sally should’ve won the Oscar for Lincoln.

I can’t believe they included Beyond The Poseidon Adventure in that reel.

by Anonymousreply 325February 27, 2023 2:16 AM

Did Austin draw the short straw and had to escort Sally up?

by Anonymousreply 326February 27, 2023 2:16 AM

R325 100%. When she lost I said she should have ran on stage and snatched the Oscar out of AnnE’s hands.

by Anonymousreply 327February 27, 2023 2:17 AM

R326 no, he probably wants everyone to speak about what a gentleman he is like they do every time Chris Evans helps someone on stage

by Anonymousreply 328February 27, 2023 2:18 AM

In some ways SAG Awards is a popularity contest. Some of these people are well liked in that community. Jamie Leigh is well liked.

by Anonymousreply 329February 27, 2023 2:18 AM

Sally is brilliant on stage as well. Amazing.

by Anonymousreply 330February 27, 2023 2:19 AM

She looks amazing for 76

by Anonymousreply 331February 27, 2023 2:19 AM

R326 no it's just another campaign ploy.

by Anonymousreply 332February 27, 2023 2:19 AM

I agree re Lincoln and Sally winning for her portrayal of Mary Todd.

I can't really stand her but she was a great Mary Todd.

by Anonymousreply 333February 27, 2023 2:19 AM

Oh that's why he's there - Spiderman's Aunt.

by Anonymousreply 334February 27, 2023 2:20 AM

Someone shut her up. She's just repeating herself.

by Anonymousreply 335February 27, 2023 2:21 AM

R332 = Brendan Fraser

by Anonymousreply 336February 27, 2023 2:22 AM

I am glad she didn't talk politics

by Anonymousreply 337February 27, 2023 2:23 AM

R335 It's probably Alzheimer's or dementia. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an announcement soon.

by Anonymousreply 338February 27, 2023 2:24 AM

Who's going to play Melania in Spielberg's Trump?

by Anonymousreply 339February 27, 2023 2:24 AM

^^I was a little white girl...

by Anonymousreply 340February 27, 2023 2:24 AM

The infamous Ariana DeBose

by Anonymousreply 341February 27, 2023 2:25 AM

R291, he be deddy.

by Anonymousreply 342February 27, 2023 2:26 AM

How embarrassing for Sally

by Anonymousreply 343February 27, 2023 2:26 AM

R341: She's wondering where her career went.

by Anonymousreply 344February 27, 2023 2:26 AM

Does Elizabeth Debicki have some kind of Marfan's type syndrome?

by Anonymousreply 345February 27, 2023 2:27 AM

I love Diego Luna.

by Anonymousreply 346February 27, 2023 2:27 AM

Is Diego in closet ?

by Anonymousreply 347February 27, 2023 2:28 AM

ugh another speech from this tart

by Anonymousreply 348February 27, 2023 2:28 AM

"Euphoria? Watch kids who think they invented fucking? No thank you."

by Anonymousreply 349February 27, 2023 2:28 AM

Damn, Austin Butler really wants us to SEE him.

by Anonymousreply 350February 27, 2023 2:28 AM

Oh FFS Austin, they don't all need you to walk them up the steps.

by Anonymousreply 351February 27, 2023 2:28 AM

I knew Coolidge was winning because it’s a popularity contest and she’s very liked in the industry, but Zendaya was robbed.

by Anonymousreply 352February 27, 2023 2:28 AM

Laura Linney was robbed

by Anonymousreply 353February 27, 2023 2:28 AM

R351: In two years nobody will even remember this horse faced phony.

by Anonymousreply 354February 27, 2023 2:29 AM

play her off

by Anonymousreply 355February 27, 2023 2:30 AM

[quote] I can't really stand her but she was a great Mary Todd.

She was fantastic in every scene except for the big breakdown scene where she starts sobbing hysterically and angrily over the Lincolns' dead son Willie. She seemed like she was pulling from her bag of tricks from "Sybil" there. I think she would have won the Oscar even over Anne Hathaway had she done something different in that scene.

Because she was superb otherwise. She's wonderful in the scene where she holds the evening reception at the White House and artfully tongue-lashes senators and cabinet members who have been opposing her husband, and also in the scene at the theatre (not the night he's killed) and gets into an argument with her husband. And she's even better in the final scene (set before Lincoln's assassination) when she and Lincoln take a carriage ride together and they muse what their legacy will be, and she regretfully realizes she will be remembered only as a great president's unstable wife.

by Anonymousreply 356February 27, 2023 2:30 AM

the cute rentboy from the white lotus

by Anonymousreply 357February 27, 2023 2:31 AM

You know that room is boring when Jennifer Coolidge runs out of steam.

by Anonymousreply 358February 27, 2023 2:31 AM

[quote] Who's going to play Melania in Spielberg's Trump?

Leo.

by Anonymousreply 359February 27, 2023 2:31 AM

Coolidge looks amazing

by Anonymousreply 360February 27, 2023 2:31 AM

Coolidge gettin' dick tonight!

by Anonymousreply 361February 27, 2023 2:32 AM

If Spielberg ever does Trump movie, it will probably be set during 2020. Maybe, his fug stepdaughter could play Kellyanne Conway.

by Anonymousreply 362February 27, 2023 2:33 AM

Who are these people?

by Anonymousreply 363February 27, 2023 2:33 AM

Who writes this waste of time banter?

by Anonymousreply 364February 27, 2023 2:33 AM

Not from her gay date.

by Anonymousreply 365February 27, 2023 2:33 AM

I frigging love Jennifer Coolidge.

by Anonymousreply 366February 27, 2023 2:33 AM

Ariana learned her lesson and dragged Coolidge off that stage.

by Anonymousreply 367February 27, 2023 2:34 AM

[quote] In some ways SAG Awards is a popularity contest. Some of these people are well liked in that community. Jamie Leigh is well liked.

Oh, dear and the SAG voters = Oscar voters. Next.

by Anonymousreply 368February 27, 2023 2:35 AM

Oh Christ. Who would ever give an acting award to Jason Bateman? Dear God.

by Anonymousreply 369February 27, 2023 2:36 AM

Bateman needs to ditch that hairstyle. He looks awful.

by Anonymousreply 370February 27, 2023 2:36 AM

About 100K unemployed actors vote for the SAGs. A fraction of those actually vote for Oscars.

by Anonymousreply 371February 27, 2023 2:37 AM

R368 incorrect. There are a lot more voters voting for Oscars than SAGs.

by Anonymousreply 372February 27, 2023 2:37 AM

Jason Bateman?

I shouldn't scoff, I hear it's a great show. But isn't Jeff Bridges nominated and he's dying?

by Anonymousreply 373February 27, 2023 2:37 AM

R371 correct. The voting pool is very different for the Oscars

by Anonymousreply 374February 27, 2023 2:38 AM

And Bridges is a much better actor.

by Anonymousreply 375February 27, 2023 2:38 AM

I admire Jason Bateman for thanking the people who watched the show.

by Anonymousreply 376February 27, 2023 2:38 AM

Did he thank Sandy Duncan for taking over (What’s Left of) Valerie’s Family?

by Anonymousreply 377February 27, 2023 2:38 AM

Marsden still just as beautiful now than he was in the 90s.

by Anonymousreply 378February 27, 2023 2:39 AM

Ozark was a great show R373, but Laura Linney was on another plane acting-wise than Bateman.

by Anonymousreply 379February 27, 2023 2:39 AM

I didn’t even know there was a new season of The Crown…

by Anonymousreply 380February 27, 2023 2:39 AM

Coolidge ended Zendaya’s winning streak. I’m so upset.

by Anonymousreply 381February 27, 2023 2:40 AM

Ozark always looks terrible.

by Anonymousreply 382February 27, 2023 2:40 AM

I hope Coolidge doesn't speak.

by Anonymousreply 383February 27, 2023 2:41 AM

I wanna James Marsden inside me deeply

by Anonymousreply 384February 27, 2023 2:41 AM

White Lotus was good but I thought Season 1 was better.

by Anonymousreply 385February 27, 2023 2:41 AM

R379, it's on my list of "shows to binge eventuall" but I haven't gotten to it yet. I've heard good things about Ozark.

by Anonymousreply 386February 27, 2023 2:43 AM

so many hot guys on the stage

by Anonymousreply 387February 27, 2023 2:43 AM

Amy Poehler was sitting next to Aubrey Plaza. She looks cute tonight. She was looking dumpy and depressed for a while.

by Anonymousreply 388February 27, 2023 2:43 AM

F Murray and Sally! It’s the 1985 Oscars all over again.

by Anonymousreply 389February 27, 2023 2:43 AM

I don’t get all the love for White Lotus. It’s all right for what it is but I mean, look at them. It’s like a soap opera cast.

by Anonymousreply 390February 27, 2023 2:44 AM

That yummy Brit escort guy...

by Anonymousreply 391February 27, 2023 2:44 AM

The White Lotus cast don’t understand how to accept an award…so that’s good

by Anonymousreply 392February 27, 2023 2:44 AM

Amy was looking depressed? Or Aubrey?

by Anonymousreply 393February 27, 2023 2:44 AM

Hey, Murray, there's no peace with Russia. Actors should really stay in their wheelhouse.

by Anonymousreply 394February 27, 2023 2:44 AM

I had my TV muted. Can someone tell me what this old man said while he made the sign of the cross?

by Anonymousreply 395February 27, 2023 2:45 AM

Aubrey still on drugs

by Anonymousreply 396February 27, 2023 2:45 AM

Can someone remind me when did Cate Blanchett get to the level of someone people fangurled over?

by Anonymousreply 397February 27, 2023 2:46 AM

He said "Union Forever!" it's a Guild event.

And the usual everyone's wonderful and we're a family.. blahblah

by Anonymousreply 398February 27, 2023 2:47 AM

Aubrey is on some good drugs. Her eyes are all over the place

by Anonymousreply 399February 27, 2023 2:47 AM

I forgot this was on tonight. Just started. The Netflix youtube channel works well.

by Anonymousreply 400February 27, 2023 2:47 AM

Do you think in memoriam segments are necessary?

by Anonymousreply 401February 27, 2023 2:49 AM

People die. Let’s move on.

by Anonymousreply 402February 27, 2023 2:49 AM

Finally, a proper In Memoriam.

by Anonymousreply 403February 27, 2023 2:49 AM

Aubrey Plaza-sad last days

by Anonymousreply 404February 27, 2023 2:49 AM

I really liked the White Lotus a lot. Aubrey Plaza was fidgiting with her dress on stage. Bet she won't wear that again.

by Anonymousreply 405February 27, 2023 2:49 AM

Is that how Aubrey maintains her girlish figure?

by Anonymousreply 406February 27, 2023 2:50 AM

Seriously, a SAG card clip collection?

by Anonymousreply 407February 27, 2023 2:51 AM

I wanna Colin Farrell inside me deeply

by Anonymousreply 408February 27, 2023 2:52 AM

R407, they do that every year.

by Anonymousreply 409February 27, 2023 2:54 AM

I hope Cunt Blanchett loses.

by Anonymousreply 410February 27, 2023 2:54 AM

R401, Yes, it's good to remember the people who elicited emotions from us.

by Anonymousreply 411February 27, 2023 2:54 AM

Who is Ana de Armas' Weinstein figure?

by Anonymousreply 412February 27, 2023 2:55 AM

EEAAO-Time

by Anonymousreply 413February 27, 2023 2:55 AM

Austin Butler's pissed he didn't get to take Yeoh up there.

by Anonymousreply 414February 27, 2023 2:56 AM

Was Blonde good? I know people have bagged on de Armas, and she's the lead, so if she's not good, how good can the movie be?

I enjoyed Yeoh's recent interview with Marc Maron.

by Anonymousreply 415February 27, 2023 2:56 AM

Ana hardly got applause when her clip was shown.

by Anonymousreply 416February 27, 2023 2:56 AM

R414 I said the same thing. You could tell he wanted to do it. All eyes on him.

R415 it’s terrible.

by Anonymousreply 417February 27, 2023 2:57 AM

Has Michelle had a tragic paper shredder accident in that dress?

by Anonymousreply 418February 27, 2023 2:57 AM

R416 I bet there are a good amount of people pissed about her nominations at SAG and Oscars.

by Anonymousreply 419February 27, 2023 2:57 AM

SAG actors have shit for taste, although it was probably the fucking news anchors, weather board nincompoops and sports desk jerks who voted the most for Michelle Yeoh.

by Anonymousreply 420February 27, 2023 2:57 AM

Her dress keeps hitting the mic

by Anonymousreply 421February 27, 2023 2:57 AM

That excelsior glued to her chest makes it sound like she's in a windstorm.

by Anonymousreply 422February 27, 2023 2:57 AM

She's wearing that gift ribbon that you curl with a scissors.

Cate trying to look sincere.

by Anonymousreply 423February 27, 2023 2:58 AM

The Australian bitch looked dressed to win. Haha...

by Anonymousreply 424February 27, 2023 2:58 AM

R420= Cate Blanchette

by Anonymousreply 425February 27, 2023 2:58 AM

I love Michelle. I felt she should have received a supporting actress nod for Crazy Rich Asians. She never missed a step. It was perfection.

by Anonymousreply 426February 27, 2023 2:58 AM

R351, Gee, you'd almost think it was pre-arranged, what with his seating and all.

Of course, when Colin Farrell helped Jennifer Cooledge, that was A-OK.

R354 = V.H.

by Anonymousreply 427February 27, 2023 2:58 AM

Cate must be shooked

by Anonymousreply 428February 27, 2023 2:59 AM

That's okay, Michelle can have the SAG. Cate will win the Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 429February 27, 2023 2:59 AM

"I hope Cunt Blanchett loses."

I prefer "Cate Cuntchett."

by Anonymousreply 430February 27, 2023 2:59 AM

Her play just began previews which she clearly doesn't give a shit about since her Hollywood film/tv career will somehow always be waiting for her.

by Anonymousreply 431February 27, 2023 2:59 AM

I am glad she didn't drag the speech too long and left the stage at the right time

by Anonymousreply 432February 27, 2023 2:59 AM

This is a special announcement: In spite of the work she had done, Jessica Chastain wants to put an end to the rumors that she has become Julianne Moore.

by Anonymousreply 433February 27, 2023 3:00 AM

I’m still confused how Adam Sandler got this random nomination lmao

by Anonymousreply 434February 27, 2023 3:00 AM

Did Brendan Gleeson have to go get Michelle and point her in the right direction?

by Anonymousreply 435February 27, 2023 3:00 AM

End of the road for Cate. Michelle is winning the Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 436February 27, 2023 3:01 AM

I've never heard of this Adam Sandler movie

by Anonymousreply 437February 27, 2023 3:01 AM

I hope Brendan Fraser doesn’t win the Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 438February 27, 2023 3:01 AM

SAG winners are much better than the BAFTA's

by Anonymousreply 439February 27, 2023 3:01 AM

Big night for cry babies.

by Anonymousreply 440February 27, 2023 3:01 AM

Frasier needs to switch to contacts before the Oscars.

by Anonymousreply 441February 27, 2023 3:01 AM

Oh no! Brendan's going to turn on the waterworks.

by Anonymousreply 442February 27, 2023 3:02 AM

Dayum Fraser. Jessica don't touch him.

by Anonymousreply 443February 27, 2023 3:02 AM

After tonight, the Gold Derby people won't know what to do, what to predict for the Oscars.

by Anonymousreply 444February 27, 2023 3:02 AM

Michelle is probably going to win the Oscar. Everyone in Hollywood likes her, and she's been very humble this awards seasons and has been playing the game correctly in terms of working the awards circuit.

I think people don't want to give one to Blanchett as much this year because she's been a preachy creep when she's won awards this season, and she should have announced her retirement from film after the Oscars (so it didn't seem like she was doing it to say, "This is your last chance to give me a prize!").

by Anonymousreply 445February 27, 2023 3:02 AM

The SAGs are all over the place tonight. Like I said, they aren’t that predictable like everyone claims.

by Anonymousreply 446February 27, 2023 3:02 AM

Are the Gold Derby people ever right?

by Anonymousreply 447February 27, 2023 3:03 AM

play him off

by Anonymousreply 448February 27, 2023 3:03 AM

Did Brendan Frasier always have this affected weirdness? When he was a young star I didn't really know much about him.

by Anonymousreply 449February 27, 2023 3:03 AM

R439 not true at all.

by Anonymousreply 450February 27, 2023 3:03 AM

Oscar gonna be BAFTA VS SAG

by Anonymousreply 451February 27, 2023 3:03 AM

R449 no. He didn’t. And I hope he doesn’t win the Oscar

by Anonymousreply 452February 27, 2023 3:04 AM

Once again, for all you mouth breathers who have been banging on about Blanchett threatening to retire - it was a joke made on an Australian TV show called The Sunday Project a couple of weeks ago.

by Anonymousreply 453February 27, 2023 3:04 AM

I’ve never gotten the appeal of this guy.

by Anonymousreply 454February 27, 2023 3:04 AM

I think Colin is officially out of the race.

by Anonymousreply 455February 27, 2023 3:04 AM

Buuuuu butt my ass it was it was groped!!!

by Anonymousreply 456February 27, 2023 3:04 AM

Marky Mark there to present the BIG AWARD of the night

by Anonymousreply 457February 27, 2023 3:04 AM

The Oscars will be closer in line to BAFTA.

by Anonymousreply 458February 27, 2023 3:04 AM

Ewww.. Marky Mark

Hide the Asians!

by Anonymousreply 459February 27, 2023 3:05 AM

Nothing like milionaire actors telling the stuggling actors at home to just stick with it.

by Anonymousreply 460February 27, 2023 3:05 AM

Oh God, it’s Father Stu!

by Anonymousreply 461February 27, 2023 3:05 AM

When they announced the actors and Austin Butler looked in the camera, I thought this guy gets laid a lot.

by Anonymousreply 462February 27, 2023 3:05 AM

Annnnd Mark Wahlberg had to allow himself to get sucked off by Fran Drescher to present the Best Cast award.

by Anonymousreply 463February 27, 2023 3:05 AM

Austin Butler disappeared. Is he still pouting because he missed his chance with Yeoh?

by Anonymousreply 464February 27, 2023 3:06 AM

Austin is pissed I bet. He's been dying to get on that stage all night.

by Anonymousreply 465February 27, 2023 3:06 AM

Women "Are" Talking?

by Anonymousreply 466February 27, 2023 3:06 AM

Wait… did they have Mark present this award because an almost all Asian cast is winning it?

by Anonymousreply 467February 27, 2023 3:06 AM

Wasn’t Women Are Talking a syndicated precursor of The View?

by Anonymousreply 468February 27, 2023 3:06 AM

Austin Butler doesn’t look happy

by Anonymousreply 469February 27, 2023 3:06 AM

Jesus fucking Christ Austin Butler nobody needs your fucking approval or hugs.

by Anonymousreply 470February 27, 2023 3:07 AM

They did it on purpose. Mark beat a Vietnamese guy, Ke Huy Quan was born in Vietnam

by Anonymousreply 471February 27, 2023 3:07 AM

The red haired Asian dude is cute.

by Anonymousreply 472February 27, 2023 3:08 AM

Oscar voting from March 2 to March 7. The supporting actor cry baby will win but that's about it.

by Anonymousreply 473February 27, 2023 3:08 AM

I’d stand for anybody in their 90s.

by Anonymousreply 474February 27, 2023 3:08 AM

Is Marky going to poke someone’s eye out?

by Anonymousreply 475February 27, 2023 3:09 AM

"It'll be five, ... ten minutes."

by Anonymousreply 476February 27, 2023 3:09 AM

You guys better fucking acknowledge James Hong. He's been acting for 60 years.

by Anonymousreply 477February 27, 2023 3:09 AM

I've seen that old dude for years.

Good for him.

by Anonymousreply 478February 27, 2023 3:09 AM

Marky be gone. It’s a parole violation for him to be that close to Asians.

by Anonymousreply 479February 27, 2023 3:10 AM

What's a good "black don't crack" equivalent for Asians. "Yellow don't mellow?"

by Anonymousreply 480February 27, 2023 3:10 AM

I'm always reminded of him as Lo Pan in Big Trouble in Little China. He was so good in that movie.

by Anonymousreply 481February 27, 2023 3:11 AM

R468 I think it’s the British version of The View

by Anonymousreply 482February 27, 2023 3:11 AM

The four SAG actor award winners are completely different from the Bafta's

by Anonymousreply 483February 27, 2023 3:11 AM

Asian don't raisin.

by Anonymousreply 484February 27, 2023 3:11 AM

Blanchett looks pissed.

by Anonymousreply 485February 27, 2023 3:11 AM

Play this old man off

by Anonymousreply 486February 27, 2023 3:12 AM

He thinks the show is about him now

by Anonymousreply 487February 27, 2023 3:12 AM

The bald Asian dude has cat eyes.

by Anonymousreply 488February 27, 2023 3:12 AM

#SAGSOASIAN

by Anonymousreply 489February 27, 2023 3:12 AM

You have to be beloved to win 3 Oscars. Cate is an outsider, snob and Tar is a pretentious bore.

by Anonymousreply 490February 27, 2023 3:13 AM

Mark looks quite handsome.

by Anonymousreply 491February 27, 2023 3:13 AM

Wahlberg's gonna get kicked out of the KKK for that.

by Anonymousreply 492February 27, 2023 3:13 AM

It's actually over? That was a quick wrap. Especially since I started at 8:20 pm.

by Anonymousreply 493February 27, 2023 3:13 AM

Right - Michelle Yeoh is pretending to laugh while jabbing him in the ribs to stop. And JLC looks sidelined and PISSED.

by Anonymousreply 494February 27, 2023 3:13 AM

He’s teeing up his In Memoriam segment next year.

by Anonymousreply 495February 27, 2023 3:13 AM

Did you guys see Adam Sandler? He looks really good…. 👀👀👀

by Anonymousreply 496February 27, 2023 3:14 AM

I wanna Mark Wahlberg inside me deeply

by Anonymousreply 497February 27, 2023 3:14 AM

Are the Oscars the next show or is there something next week too?

by Anonymousreply 498February 27, 2023 3:14 AM

Is there a SAG after party Netflix/youtube collab stream too?

by Anonymousreply 499February 27, 2023 3:15 AM

Blanchett's PR will release this week saying she's really gonna retire; she really means it; she's really gonna do it this time.

by Anonymousreply 500February 27, 2023 3:15 AM

Austin Butler’s eyes are red. Is he fighting back tears?

by Anonymousreply 501February 27, 2023 3:16 AM

R499, Spirit Awards

by Anonymousreply 502February 27, 2023 3:16 AM

I think that’s it now until the Oscars. Aside from Indie Spirit.

by Anonymousreply 503February 27, 2023 3:16 AM

Happy for Michelle Yeoh and anyone who wins that's not Austin Butler

by Anonymousreply 504February 27, 2023 3:16 AM

R498 they’re next, in two weeks

by Anonymousreply 505February 27, 2023 3:16 AM

I hope everyone everywhere from that dreck of a movie killed their Oscar chances tonight with that embarrassing display.

by Anonymousreply 506February 27, 2023 3:17 AM

Zendaya was truly robbed.

by Anonymousreply 507February 27, 2023 3:17 AM

R501: Tears that he didn't get to be the center of attention.

by Anonymousreply 508February 27, 2023 3:18 AM

^^ That's exactly right.

by Anonymousreply 509February 27, 2023 3:18 AM

Colin hasn't fared well this awards season but the biggest one is still to come. I truly hope Banshees wins Best Picture, I loved it all the way through.

by Anonymousreply 510February 27, 2023 3:18 AM

I would love for Colin to win. Let's have Austin and Brendan split the vote, allowing Colin to slide right in there.

by Anonymousreply 511February 27, 2023 3:21 AM

[quote]Happy for Michelle Yeoh and anyone who wins that's not Austin Butler

Agreed, but I would add "that's not Austin Butler or Jamie Lee Curtis."

by Anonymousreply 512February 27, 2023 3:22 AM

Ugh, the Everything Everywhere All At Once sweep again proves the mass public has shit for brains. Jamie Lee winning? Really? They let anyone vote in the SAG awards. I'll be glad when this glorified Marvel movie's five minutes are up...

by Anonymousreply 513February 27, 2023 3:23 AM

R501 Angry that he was talked into wearing a red suit in public - for no good reason.

by Anonymousreply 514February 27, 2023 3:23 AM

NO, R508 and R501. La cocaína le dijo que era importante esta noche y descubrió por las malas que no lo es.

by Anonymousreply 515February 27, 2023 3:24 AM

R490 I assume that you know Cate Blanchett personally to so confidently call her a snob?

Or is it just that she’s intelligent, which you aren’t?

by Anonymousreply 516February 27, 2023 3:25 AM

No. He’s been pouting ever since someone else helped Yeoh up and all eyes weren’t on him. And then he lost the award everyone assumed he would win (especially him)

by Anonymousreply 517February 27, 2023 3:26 AM

Jamie Lee is 64 years old, she's been in movies for 50 years. I don't think she's ever won anything before and I don't think she'll win anything again. Just let her have her moment, it's little enough.

by Anonymousreply 518February 27, 2023 3:27 AM

Blanchett is the new Meryl: doing things for the money, buying her own hype, emiting smug cunt vibes.

by Anonymousreply 519February 27, 2023 3:27 AM

Jamie Lee has taken HER moments and everyone else's for the entire awards season. She's coming across like a perfect fool.

by Anonymousreply 520February 27, 2023 3:28 AM

Meryl has won a ridiculous amount of awards. To compare JLC to her is ridiculous

by Anonymousreply 521February 27, 2023 3:29 AM

R519 Yes, because TAR is EXACTLY the kind of film somebody does for the huge paycheck!

by Anonymousreply 522February 27, 2023 3:29 AM

One thing for sure it’ll be a suspenseful Oscars in three of the acting categories. Angela vs. Jamie Lee, with Kerry the dark horse. Austin vs. Brendan. I think Colin is now out of it. I’m still predicting a Cate win. Many years it’s a numbers game. Cate has won the most hardware this awards season. She blows Michelle out of the water in terms of performance that very few actresses could pull off in Tar. Suck it Cate haters. Yeoh isn’t in the same multiverse as Cate. Even Michelle know this. The Daniels will probably win directing. But EEAAO ain’t going to win best pic. I don’t care how well it did at the guild awards.

by Anonymousreply 523February 27, 2023 3:30 AM

But people hate Tar, or don’t even bother. Cate is just another privileged white woman now.

by Anonymousreply 524February 27, 2023 3:32 AM

Do I have any of these? Mamie! Go thru the trophies and look for a green one.

by Anonymousreply 525February 27, 2023 3:35 AM

[quote] But EEAAO ain’t going to win best pic. I don’t care how well it did at the guild awards

R523 = idiot

by Anonymousreply 526February 27, 2023 3:35 AM

I can agree that Cate's acting is probably better in Tar than Yeoh. But is it really always a disciplined, deduction of who is technically the "better" actor?

by Anonymousreply 527February 27, 2023 3:36 AM

Meryl Streep Frances Mcdormand just got their 3rd Oscars a few years ago, I doubt Academy will give a 3rd Oscar to another privileged white woman in such a short time.

by Anonymousreply 528February 27, 2023 3:36 AM

I think with the OScars the votes will be from a larger pool. International . So I won't count Colin out. B ut I do think it will be between Austin and Colin. Brendan will be a close third.

by Anonymousreply 529February 27, 2023 3:37 AM

The Great Gatsby is terrible. It came on after SAGs.

by Anonymousreply 530February 27, 2023 3:38 AM

Which version, R530, there are so many bad versions of Gatsby.

by Anonymousreply 531February 27, 2023 3:39 AM

R528: If Frances McDormand can win a third Oscar, I don't see them having any reservations about giving it to Cate.

by Anonymousreply 532February 27, 2023 3:40 AM

I actually enjoyed Leo's Gatsby. I thought everyone in the cast was good. OK, I found Tobey Maguire weak, but that's because I have never liked him. But I like Jason Clark and Joel Edgerton and Elizabeth Debicki. Carey Mulligan was good as daisy, too. And the sets were sumptuous.

by Anonymousreply 533February 27, 2023 3:43 AM

Thrilled that Peters and Butler lost.

by Anonymousreply 534February 27, 2023 3:43 AM

R534: Those were the best parts of that trainwreck of a show.

by Anonymousreply 535February 27, 2023 3:45 AM

They have zero reservations about giving another one to Cate, r532.

R528, Ms Privileged White Woman is a troll just trying to make trouble. She's also a privileged white woman herself.

by Anonymousreply 536February 27, 2023 3:45 AM

Who is Peters?

by Anonymousreply 537February 27, 2023 3:46 AM

I'm simply baffled how one can win any award for basically sitting and crying while wearing a fat suit.

If I had described that role as Austin's next, r534 and r535 would have laughed unto tears, while saying that was all he was good for.

by Anonymousreply 538February 27, 2023 3:48 AM

R537 Evan Peters, he was up for Limited Actor in Dahmer.

"Which version, [R530], there are so many bad versions of Gatsby."

Toby McGuire is in it, R531

by Anonymousreply 540February 27, 2023 3:49 AM

R523's fucking high. Butler's not gonna win and he's not even in contention, he'll place last in the voting.

by Anonymousreply 541February 27, 2023 3:50 AM

R538 I can take or leave Fraser. I was rooting for Colin to win and Butler to lose so at least I got one of my wishes in that category.

by Anonymousreply 542February 27, 2023 3:50 AM

R526 WTH? Just stating a fact about EEAAO. A lot of voters are going to game the preferential ballot and vote it 10th. Fuck off.

by Anonymousreply 543February 27, 2023 3:50 AM

Amazed at Curtis' win. Thanks for the fun thread.

by Anonymousreply 544February 27, 2023 3:53 AM

If anyone finds a clip of White Lotus winning Best Ensemble, please post it here, I can't find one on youtube yet.

Did any of the WL actors get an individual SAG win?

by Anonymousreply 545February 27, 2023 3:53 AM

Coolidge, R545.

by Anonymousreply 546February 27, 2023 3:55 AM

R545 Jennifer Coolidge

by Anonymousreply 547February 27, 2023 3:55 AM

[quote]But is it really always a disciplined, deduction of who is technically the "better" actor?

Absolutely! And thus my Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 548February 27, 2023 3:56 AM

No, R482, the British version of The View is called Loose Women.

by Anonymousreply 549February 27, 2023 3:57 AM

So many pathetic liars here. Austin wasn't pouting or crying; his eyes weren't red; he didn't "disappear." Was he disappointed? Was Colin? Was Paul or Adam? Was anyone else tonight? No? Only Austin? Okay.

Had you watched through the credits, he was shown near his table (great disappearing act!), smiling (not just a tight smile), and laughing.

by Anonymousreply 550February 27, 2023 3:58 AM

I get the sense that tonight was a night to award people like Jamie Lee because she has no chance of winning an Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 551February 27, 2023 3:58 AM

I would rather Coln Farrell would win the Oscar, but at least if Fraser wins it will mightily piss off Roxane Gay.

Of course that's not saying much. Everything mightily pisses off Roxane Gay except for buttercream.

by Anonymousreply 552February 27, 2023 3:58 AM

There's really no genuine love for any film this year so I think that will mean the acting Oscars will go to most sentimentally beloved actors, not strongest performances. Hence, Fraser, Yeoh, Curtis and the gent from EEAAO will win.

by Anonymousreply 553February 27, 2023 3:59 AM

You gays would love to get it on with Butler

by Anonymousreply 554February 27, 2023 4:02 AM

Ah. The Leo/Tobey/Carey one, R540, a truly wretched version!

Truthfully, it's F. Scott's fault. Gatsby's all on the page. It's meant to be read, not performed, but it's seductive. Big stars always want to do it. They always fail, and fail hard, which I've come to enjoy over the years.

by Anonymousreply 555February 27, 2023 4:02 AM

Not only is R554 a frau CUNT she's a stupid frau CUNT.

by Anonymousreply 556February 27, 2023 4:04 AM

R551 untrue. With Bassett losing at BAFTA and SAG, it’s a wide open race now with her and Jamie Lee the front runners, with Kerry maybe the wild card in the category. No way JLC is out of this. While I dislike the film, EEAAO had significant victories at DGA, PGA and now SAG the past two weekends.

by Anonymousreply 557February 27, 2023 4:06 AM

[quote] The Oscars will be closer in line to BAFTA.

No, they won’t. SAG = Oscars. That’s the rule. Always has been, always will.

by Anonymousreply 558February 27, 2023 4:12 AM

If Butler didn’t win tonight he sure as fuck isn’t winning the Oscar. Tonight was his best chance to win.

The In Memoriam was the best in many years. No dumbass singer hogging the camera time away from the dead people. Now if they’d just tell the fucking audience to hold their applause until ALL of the dead people got their screen time.

by Anonymousreply 559February 27, 2023 4:16 AM

R559 I’d give Fraser the edge, but Butler is still in the thick of it. His wins at the globes and BAFTA can’t be ignored. Along with the Academy’s love for musical biopics. With recent wins for Renee Zellweger and Rami Malek playing Garland and Mercury, no way you can rule Butler out.

by Anonymousreply 560February 27, 2023 4:24 AM

Sucks for Cate if her Magnum Opus doesn't win her an Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 561February 27, 2023 4:27 AM

by Anonymousreply 565February 27, 2023 4:54 AM

Couple of surprises— JLC and Brendan Fraser. Hope they get the Oscars too. Both had the best speeches tonight

by Anonymousreply 566February 27, 2023 4:57 AM

I see Klan grannies have arrived. Blacks must walk a fine line of being continuously humble while not speaking too much about their struggles or hardships. Basically they must walk an impossible tightrope.

Anyway I left y’all some pudding pie on the coffee table with whip cream on top.

by Anonymousreply 567February 27, 2023 4:58 AM

Is Blanchett going to act on the stage instead of the movies? I remember an interview Streep gave years ago where she thought the perfect plan would be to concentrate on the stage when she aged out of movie roles.

by Anonymousreply 568February 27, 2023 4:59 AM

EEAAO has won the most SAG Awards of all-time.

It's now the favorite heading into the Oscars.

Michelle Yeoh is the first actress of a certain age to overtake Meryl Streep She's getting first choice of roles before Meryl. She's currently filming the two Wicked movies in London, two Avatar sequels, the upcoming Transformers movie and Kenneth Branagh's upcoming Agatha Christie Poirot movie.

These are all films that M should pass on anyway. She needs to finds a character-driven piece as her next vehicle.

R572 No not at all. I love when my Asians win. My comment was for ancient bigots here who hold black entertainers to impossible standards.

Now eat the fkin cake.

by Anonymousreply 578February 27, 2023 5:31 AM

Sam Elliott didn’t win because he got voted for it by his peers. He got an overwhelming amount of votes by Southwestern local affiliate news anchors and sports anchors who love that Western shit like 1883.

by Anonymousreply 579February 27, 2023 5:43 AM

You're not very convincing, R578.

We got a rare glimpse at his wife Katharine Ross at his table. Looking lovely, unlined face it seemed, but with gray hair. Great string of movies - Butch Cassidy, The Graduate, Stepford Wives, mostly retired I guess.

Danielle Deadwyler did not crack a smile night.

by Anonymousreply 584February 27, 2023 6:04 AM

"Danielle Deadwyler did not crack a smile night."

She's probably exhausted. Her publicist and manager probably told her to go to SAGs as the "right thing to do" in terms of playing the game. SAGs are the day after the NAACP Image Awards the night before (and I assume social events/parties thereafter). Granted, they were in Pasadena, so no lengthy travel. But still, she's probably actually physically exhausted beyond mentally fried. Why mentally fried? A long awards season with early talk about an Oscar nom that she didn't get. So the disappointment from that. Then once people took issue with her and Viola not getting noms, then she has to deal with all the questions about fairness, representation, etc. even though she wasn't the one who brought it on.

by Anonymousreply 585February 27, 2023 6:20 AM

What’s with all the Austin Butler hate? The guy can’t do anything right according to a few of you unbalanced posters. Grow the fuck up and get over yourselves. JFC.

Now I await the ‘Hi Austin!’

by Anonymousreply 586February 27, 2023 6:25 AM

It’s like traveling back in time with Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Sally Field and Top Gun.

by Anonymousreply 587February 27, 2023 6:27 AM

They could have played a little bit of the "Flying Nun" theme music or the wonderful "Gidget" by Johnny Tillotson. Granted Sally Field wanted to get away from being typecast as a sitcom star, but she was engaging, memorable and adorable doing them.

Playing Out Here on My Own was a great call for the In Memoriam. Calling James Caan for that prized final spot at the Oscars - because who can resist a scene from The Godfather?

by Anonymousreply 589February 27, 2023 7:00 AM

They should show the scene where he's killed in Godfather then hard cut to Big Ang Lans trying her new broom in Bedknobs

by Anonymousreply 590February 27, 2023 7:04 AM

by Anonymousreply 592February 27, 2023 7:51 AM

I really loved seeing such talented long-serving Asian actors being recognised for acting at last. Jamie Lee Curtis is officially insufferable, ditto Jennifer Coolidge. Was so glad Jason Bateman won for Ozark but Laura Linney was absolutely robbed. Bateman’s wife did not seem thrilled - camera cut to her while he was accepting and she looked pissed. Hmmmmmm

Netflix pulled it off just fine with no annoying ads.

by Anonymousreply 593February 27, 2023 7:54 AM

R558 where do you come up with this stuff? The SAGs have awarded performances that didn’t even get nominated for Oscars, like Emily Blunt in A Quiet Place & Mary Poppins, or Idris Elba for that Netflix movie. They won the categories their years and weren’t even nominated at Oscars.

by Anonymousreply 594February 27, 2023 7:59 AM

Laura Linney wasn’t robbed and she has plenty of awards. She’s fine.

Zendaya was robbed, however.

by Anonymousreply 595February 27, 2023 8:07 AM

I respectfully disagree r595. Zendaya has already been lauded for a fairly one-note role. Laura Linney was fantastic as Wendy Byrde and deserved to be recognised.

by Anonymousreply 596February 27, 2023 8:10 AM

I’m what world was Z’s performance in Euphoria season 2 “one note”? It was actually a far more complex performance in season 2 than Linney’s.

by Anonymousreply 597February 27, 2023 8:11 AM

Zendaya robbed! Good Lord.

by Anonymousreply 598February 27, 2023 8:26 AM

And she sat at Butler’s table! Yechhhh!

by Anonymousreply 599February 27, 2023 8:32 AM

Why does blubbery Brendan get not only a pass but praise here?

by Anonymousreply 600February 27, 2023 8:47 AM

To the poster comparing Care to Meryl, I think Streep doesn't take herself that seriously and is always agree how overrated she is. She also doesn't try to intellectualism her movies in interviews, so I think the comparison isn't accurate.

Plus Streep hasn't won any awards since The Iron Lady, excepting her GG lifetime achievement award.

And Meryl has 2 SAGs, one for Angels In America and the other for Doubt. Viola famously best her in 2012 which led a lot of commentators to predict V would get the Oscar for The Help.

by Anonymousreply 601February 27, 2023 9:35 AM

Was DL Icon Dame Angela Lansbury given a decent spot on "In Memorium"?
