The People's Court is DEAD to US!

Seems like daytime court shows are going the way of the soap operas.

NO! I really like People's Court. I guess there are just too many court shows now.

And yet that awful harridan screeches on, Judge Judy.

by Anonymousreply 2February 18, 2023 3:51 PM

I thought Judge Judy's show was done, or is it in repeats?

I swear, I can't turn on a TV without seeing that hag's face or Big Bang Theory.

Who WATCHES shit like this?

by Anonymousreply 4February 18, 2023 3:54 PM

I rather liked Judge Marilyn Milian. Hilarious when she started spouting her Cuban prophecies in Spanish to make various points to the whackjobs who showed up week after week. She is quite brilliant but sometimes the screech-o-meter was rough. Her bailiff Douglas was a dream.

I like Marilyn, attended two of her shows. One in Manhattan, most-recent in Stamford. Also like chats with her lawyer-judge husband. Judy is on because she owns the shows. Current series "Judy Justice"(?) is only online.

I appreciate Judge Judy more now that I am an old fart. I have not seen her new show. She was always commonsense and the tough love when contrasted to our current climate is a nice stinging antiseptic to all the entitlement.

I love this show but I'm sure it will continue to air ala Judge Judy albeit in reruns

by Anonymousreply 8February 18, 2023 4:12 PM

Judy was on the bench in New York's Family Court for decades. She's slick at catching smart asses who try get over on her and calls them on it. And if your dog is off the leash, you've lost the case before it begins.

by Anonymousreply 9February 18, 2023 4:22 PM

What other satisfying trashy kind of shows can take its place? There's been soaps, talk shows, shows about people who talk to ghosts, court shows and Leave it to Beaver and fucking Matlock. What can possibly be next?

What about me? My show is on all the time too!

She has a new show called Judy Justice through IMDB. It employs her family.

No, she isn’t. She’s the same as a Fox News talking head. A yapping yenta.

Anybody remember the case with...Lana Cantrell? I think it was People's Court.

by Anonymousreply 14February 18, 2023 5:05 PM

People’s Court was on for at least 40 years. I remember watching it during summer vacation in high school. The original with Judge Wapner and Doug what’s his name.

I'm sorry that Judge Marilyn Milian didn't get the same adoration among us as Judge Judy did. She was really funny and personable, kind to the litigants when they deserved it, but could read one for filth if they had it coming. The People's Court was the only court show I could bear to watch because of her. I quit watching during the pandemic because the trials by Skype call just didn't have the same energy.

I want Marilyn and CBS legal analyst Rikki Klieman to team up for a cable news show or a podcast or something.
