Another reason to hate Jessica Chastain

I have no idea about her Oscar chasing, but I did see a then unknown Chastain play Desdemona on Broadway and she was the worst performer in a markedly mediocre production. At that point I had only seen her in an episode of Veronica Mars in which she played a battered wife.

I was very surprised when she broke out a few years later and was instantly crowned a Great Actor.

Why is she not an egalitarian? Feminism is so sexist.

I struggle to dislike her as she seems like a good egg who is genuinely decent with people, in spite of her being a goody-two-shoes sjw

I can’t believe Broadway welcomed back this no talent. She thought she could fill the shoes of the incredible Cherry Jones in The Heiress. When that production flopped, she decided to close the play early and campaign for the Oscar.

Leave Jessica alone.

I liked her as Celia Foote and Lucille.

I thought she was really good in Scenes from a Marriage. It’s wild to me that in 2022 she was rewarded for that hammy Tammy Faye thing over her work in SFAM. Actors have the worst taste and need to stop falling for blatant biopic bait.

Scenes from a Marriage was for TV so she couldn't get an Oscar for that.

She was red hot for a couple of years and got back to back Oscar noms, then the heat cooled somewhat.

I will say her Oscar speech was one of the best in years.

Whenever she comes up someone always compares her to Amy Adams but I don’t see a resemblance at all! To me Chastain looks more like Toni Collette’s glam sister.

I wish someone would explain to me the appeal of Tammy Faye.

Chastain is all right, not a brilliant actress but a good actress. Not a beauty but a handsome woman. She's just so middle of the road.

I may be biased against her because I recently saw some movie she did with Tom Hiddleston. I think it was called Crimson Peak. Horrendous. Leonard Pinth Garnell bad.

She’s attractive, but her bone structure is coarse and hard, and so she relies on glam.
