Love Reba. Fancy!

by Anonymousreply 2February 5, 2023 5:29 PM

Another example of an aging singer who has lost much of their voice.

It sucks-

Shocked that people will pay for this shit. (LOVE REBA, just would never pay to see her live now)

by Anonymousreply 3February 5, 2023 5:35 PM

I'd rather pay to see someone like Reba than Madonna.

by Anonymousreply 4February 5, 2023 5:43 PM

R3 she sounds fine for someone in their late 60s. She actually sings live and has got a pleasant personality versus the other aging divas

R4 Reba would also pay to see Reba rather than Madonna

Let’s see $200 or less on the floor for Reba who sings live, is one of the best entertainers around and will start fairly promptly on time or $4k for floor tickets to Madonna who will lipsync to a track, while just writhing around on the stage like a dying donkey flicking her dried up clit, but only after starting the show 4 hours late… ummmm tough choice

by Anonymousreply 7February 5, 2023 6:06 PM

Has Madonna canceled any dates yet?

by Anonymousreply 8February 10, 2023 5:58 AM

Does Madge sing live at all?

by Anonymousreply 9February 10, 2023 2:36 PM

Who?

by Anonymousreply 10February 12, 2023 2:45 PM

Saw her at Carnegie Hall OP years ago as Nellie Forbush. The tix were a treat for my sister-in-law and her husband visiting from Dallas.

Hardly coastal elite queens but you do you.

by Anonymousreply 11February 12, 2023 3:11 PM

Reba has always been great live. If you get a chance, go!

by Anonymousreply 12February 12, 2023 4:12 PM

it's all autotuned anyways... they have all the brand new tech that can help with live performances.

by Anonymousreply 13February 12, 2023 4:36 PM

Sorry bitches I spent my whole tax return on Beyoncé…. I can’t do anymore concerts this year

by Anonymousreply 14February 13, 2023 1:58 PM

No. Her Pussy stinks!

by Anonymousreply 15February 13, 2023 2:06 PM

R15 I bet Madonna takes the award for that

by Anonymousreply 16February 13, 2023 2:20 PM

She’s adorable

I think her fans would rather see her in another Broadway musical than at MSG. Broadway musical is a more intimate setting and you can hear and see her better.

It's too bad she never said yes to 'Hello Dolly' before it closed in 2018.

by Anonymousreply 18March 18, 2023 6:17 PM

What is it with country music I don’t seem to understand? Must be like the farmhouse chic thing, people think it’s cute or quaint I guess.

by Anonymousreply 19March 18, 2023 6:44 PM

R19 depends on the era. During Reba’s heyday it was all about the story songs and ballads. Now it’s all lifestyle music that’s very regionally specific.

I always loved Does He Love You?

And the cover version with Liza and Donna Summer is practically a gay orgy set to music.

by Anonymousreply 21March 18, 2023 6:51 PM

Broadway wise she was supposedly so good in Annie Get Your Gun, that they were thinking of breaking tradition and nominating her for Best Actress, even though Bernadette had just won for it the year prior.

by Anonymousreply 22March 18, 2023 6:52 PM

R21 this might be the gayest song ever recorded

R20 fair enough. I guess I’m a city slicker who grew up on house and trance. Need to get out more I guess.

by Anonymousreply 24March 18, 2023 7:08 PM

I would love to see her in another show. But what could she do? Mame? Dolly? Mama Rose? Follies? Call Me Madam?

I'd be interested in seeing what you all think.

Reba was said to be at the top of the list to replace Bette Midler in 'Hello Dolly' back in 2018. The list included Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, and a few other A-listers. One by one, they all said no and Bernadette Peters finally said yes - as good as she was, she didn't have the box office pull like the other 'names' certainly had.

by Anonymousreply 26March 19, 2023 1:56 AM

I like her but is she a Rethug or, worse, a Trumper? Just curious.

She doesn't talk her politics. But a few years ago, she was named as a featured singer at the Republican fund raiser. But she wasn't consulted about it and demanded her name be removed as a supporter of the event.

by Anonymousreply 28March 19, 2023 4:16 AM

Interesting. Thank you, R28.

by Anonymousreply 29March 19, 2023 4:42 AM

R27 she’s supported gay marriage for a long time, lots of gay friends. She had a song about the AIDS crisis in the 90s. She was very good friends with George H.W. Bush, but if she’s a Republican she’s not a Trumper. She alluded in an interview that she finds Trump to be offensive. Seems like a moderate, she’s very neutral on politics.

by Anonymousreply 30March 19, 2023 5:16 PM

Got my Hollywood Bowl tickets!

by Anonymousreply 31March 23, 2023 3:28 AM

“Take It Back”, “Fancy”, “If You See Him/If You See Her”, “Fear of Being Alone”…absolutely adore her.

Can’t believe she’s never performed at MSG.
