Reba coming to NY & LA

Are any of you coastal elite queens going?

She’s amazing live

by Anonymousreply 1February 5, 2023 4:49 PM

Love Reba. Fancy!

by Anonymousreply 2February 5, 2023 5:29 PM

Another example of an aging singer who has lost much of their voice.

It sucks-

Shocked that people will pay for this shit. (LOVE REBA, just would never pay to see her live now)

by Anonymousreply 3February 5, 2023 5:35 PM

I'd rather pay to see someone like Reba than Madonna.

by Anonymousreply 4February 5, 2023 5:43 PM

R3 she sounds fine for someone in their late 60s. She actually sings live and has got a pleasant personality versus the other aging divas

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 5February 5, 2023 5:44 PM

R4 Reba would also pay to see Reba rather than Madonna

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 6February 5, 2023 5:53 PM

Let’s see $200 or less on the floor for Reba who sings live, is one of the best entertainers around and will start fairly promptly on time or $4k for floor tickets to Madonna who will lipsync to a track, while just writhing around on the stage like a dying donkey flicking her dried up clit, but only after starting the show 4 hours late… ummmm tough choice

by Anonymousreply 7February 5, 2023 6:06 PM

Has Madonna canceled any dates yet?

by Anonymousreply 8February 10, 2023 5:58 AM

Does Madge sing live at all?

by Anonymousreply 9February 10, 2023 2:36 PM

Who?

by Anonymousreply 10February 12, 2023 2:45 PM

Saw her at Carnegie Hall OP years ago as Nellie Forbush. The tix were a treat for my sister-in-law and her husband visiting from Dallas.

Hardly coastal elite queens but you do you.

by Anonymousreply 11February 12, 2023 3:11 PM

Reba has always been great live. If you get a chance, go!

by Anonymousreply 12February 12, 2023 4:12 PM

it's all autotuned anyways... they have all the brand new tech that can help with live performances.

by Anonymousreply 13February 12, 2023 4:36 PM

Sorry bitches I spent my whole tax return on Beyoncé…. I can’t do anymore concerts this year

by Anonymousreply 14February 13, 2023 1:58 PM

No. Her Pussy stinks!

by Anonymousreply 15February 13, 2023 2:06 PM

R15 I bet Madonna takes the award for that

by Anonymousreply 16February 13, 2023 2:20 PM

She’s adorable

I think her fans would rather see her in another Broadway musical than at MSG. Broadway musical is a more intimate setting and you can hear and see her better.

It's too bad she never said yes to 'Hello Dolly' before it closed in 2018.

by Anonymousreply 18March 18, 2023 6:17 PM

What is it with country music I don’t seem to understand? Must be like the farmhouse chic thing, people think it’s cute or quaint I guess.

by Anonymousreply 19March 18, 2023 6:44 PM

R19 depends on the era. During Reba’s heyday it was all about the story songs and ballads. Now it’s all lifestyle music that’s very regionally specific.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 20March 18, 2023 6:49 PM

I always loved Does He Love You?

And the cover version with Liza and Donna Summer is practically a gay orgy set to music.

by Anonymousreply 21March 18, 2023 6:51 PM

Broadway wise she was supposedly so good in Annie Get Your Gun, that they were thinking of breaking tradition and nominating her for Best Actress, even though Bernadette had just won for it the year prior.

by Anonymousreply 22March 18, 2023 6:52 PM

R21 this might be the gayest song ever recorded

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 23March 18, 2023 6:56 PM

R20 fair enough. I guess I’m a city slicker who grew up on house and trance. Need to get out more I guess.

by Anonymousreply 24March 18, 2023 7:08 PM

I would love to see her in another show. But what could she do? Mame? Dolly? Mama Rose? Follies? Call Me Madam?

I'd be interested in seeing what you all think.

by Anonymousreply 25March 18, 2023 7:32 PM

Reba was said to be at the top of the list to replace Bette Midler in 'Hello Dolly' back in 2018. The list included Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, and a few other A-listers. One by one, they all said no and Bernadette Peters finally said yes - as good as she was, she didn't have the box office pull like the other 'names' certainly had.

by Anonymousreply 26March 19, 2023 1:56 AM

I like her but is she a Rethug or, worse, a Trumper? Just curious.

by Anonymousreply 27March 19, 2023 2:09 AM

[quote]I like her but is she a Rethug or, worse, a Trumper? Just curious.

She doesn't talk her politics. But a few years ago, she was named as a featured singer at the Republican fund raiser. But she wasn't consulted about it and demanded her name be removed as a supporter of the event.

by Anonymousreply 28March 19, 2023 4:16 AM

Interesting. Thank you, R28.

by Anonymousreply 29March 19, 2023 4:42 AM

R27 she’s supported gay marriage for a long time, lots of gay friends. She had a song about the AIDS crisis in the 90s. She was very good friends with George H.W. Bush, but if she’s a Republican she’s not a Trumper. She alluded in an interview that she finds Trump to be offensive. Seems like a moderate, she’s very neutral on politics.

by Anonymousreply 30March 19, 2023 5:16 PM

Got my Hollywood Bowl tickets!

by Anonymousreply 31March 23, 2023 3:28 AM

“Take It Back”, “Fancy”, “If You See Him/If You See Her”, “Fear of Being Alone”…absolutely adore her.

Can’t believe she’s never performed at MSG.

by Anonymousreply 32March 23, 2023 3:46 AM

Today’s her birthday

by Anonymousreply 33March 28, 2023 5:13 PM

I saw her 30 years ago, great concert.

by Anonymousreply 34March 28, 2023 5:17 PM

Who?

by Anonymousreply 35March 31, 2023 3:05 AM

That shirt makes me feel I’m trippin’ balls.

by Anonymousreply 36March 31, 2023 3:07 AM

When my ex was a young twink, she would sing at the rodeos before she became famous. They all had a feeling she was going to be a big star; her voice was incredible.

by Anonymousreply 37March 31, 2023 3:11 AM

R37 did you land a cowboy gay?

by Anonymousreply 38March 31, 2023 3:12 AM

Still wishing I could have seen Reba on Broadway in Annie get your gun.

by Anonymousreply 39March 31, 2023 3:49 AM

R39 me too!!!

by Anonymousreply 40April 9, 2023 4:57 PM

Not across the street to see this strange faced bitch, not even if you paid me 500 USD.

by Anonymousreply 41April 9, 2023 5:07 PM

Not that I hear she's supporting drag queens, much to country people's dismay, then absolutely yes.

by Anonymousreply 42April 9, 2023 5:21 PM

*NOW, damnit

by Anonymousreply 43April 9, 2023 5:22 PM

She’s a gay ally and the hillbilly trump cretins are trying to cancel her

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 46April 9, 2023 5:30 PM

I'd buy tickets even if I couldn't go, just to piss off the Trumpers and right wing nutjobs who say they are now boycotting her.

by Anonymousreply 47April 9, 2023 5:42 PM

A lot of republicans find Trump personally offense. They still vote R and still give the party $$$. Reba doesn't get a pass just because she's folksy and sings a song about a hooker. Until she admits to giving money to democrats I consider her to support a party eager to strip us of our rights.

by Anonymousreply 48April 9, 2023 5:51 PM

R48 her ex-husband donated to Biden. Look it up.

by Anonymousreply 49April 9, 2023 6:00 PM

R48 Do some research as others here have done. We don't do this research for you.

by Anonymousreply 50April 9, 2023 6:00 PM

As noted in other threads, she brought a lot of attention to AIDS when she didn’t have to. The song was very controversial and she was heavily criticized. That song forced straight country fans to see HIV/AIDS from a perspective they could empathize with or imagine themselves in, it had a big impact.

She’s constantly chosen songs that dealt with heavy issues, seemingly from a liberal perspective. Here’s a song she did in 1987 about the migrant situation at the border.

R62 are you okay?

by Anonymousreply 64April 9, 2023 7:35 PM

Reba fans have been screeching for years what a gay ally she is, without putting forth one shred of evidence to support it. And you're right. I don't like her. I haven't since she cunted off about the Dixie Chicks, showing her true colors. By all means, keep supporting her and sending her money if it makes you happy, but quit pretending that she is anything resembling a gay ally. And being nice to a makeup artist doesn't count.

by Anonymousreply 68April 9, 2023 7:48 PM

R68 you’re obviously unstable. All the Janbots, Hagdonna & Shania fans trot out that old Dixie Chicks story anytime they want to attack her. She made one G-rated lame joke on an awards show, written by writers in like 2003. She never condemned them. Get over it.

by Anonymousreply 69April 9, 2023 8:36 PM

The reason that joke took on a life of its own is because that little hedgehog lez Natalie Maines took it so personally and went on a warpath against Reba in interviews. Natalie’s career now is basically nonexistent.

by Anonymousreply 70April 10, 2023 1:25 PM

Show is on Saturday. Did the NY Queens get their tix yet?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 71April 10, 2023 2:43 PM

Lol not worshipping the yodeling rethug makes someone unstable? Ok… that seems normal. Honey, go see Reba. Have a great time. No one is stopping you. But maybe try not to get unhinged when someone disagrees with you. Also that “joke” was part of a big pile on. The Chicks were getting death threats. Reba could have stayed out of it but thought it would be great to boost her popularity with her mouth breathing fans - like you.

by Anonymousreply 72April 10, 2023 4:32 PM

R72 keep focusing on what you hate. Have a great day!

by Anonymousreply 73April 10, 2023 6:40 PM

Everyone should leave town. The hillbillies are coming. Hicks from the sticks.

by Anonymousreply 74April 10, 2023 6:46 PM

R74 time to flee?

by Anonymousreply 75April 11, 2023 1:55 PM

She can fill MSG up every night? Does she have that much drawing power?

by Anonymousreply 76April 11, 2023 1:59 PM

R76 if Ben Platt can…

by Anonymousreply 77April 12, 2023 5:15 AM

by Anonymousreply 78April 13, 2023 10:01 PM

She sucks!

by Anonymousreply 79April 13, 2023 10:54 PM

R 79 is obsessed with her. Trashes her every chance he gets. Weird

by Anonymousreply 80April 13, 2023 10:56 PM

R79 is Madgebot

by Anonymousreply 81April 13, 2023 10:57 PM

[quote] "I'd rather pay to see someone like Reba than Madonna."

Same, R4. I've never seen Madonna live (and only regret not seeing The Confessions Tour), but I HAVE been to Reba concerts. Like Cher, she shows up on time, and puts on a hell of a show. She doesn't do the 21 truck shows of the 1990s anymore, but her "stripped-down" shows are still very exciting (and the audiences are full of all kinds of hot men).

And she's very, very good about including old hits. So for instance: if you only ever go to one Reba show, you should be able to count on hearing "Fancy". Madonna's album tours are great if one likes the album (which is why I regret not seeing "Confessions", because I LOVE that album...except "Push"), but she's not good for a lot classics (there ARE only so many slots for songs in the lineup).

I DO appreciate the occasional update/fresh take on Madonna's old songs if they fit the tone of the tour, but sometimes I just want to hear something resembling the original goddamned version. I was genuinely shocked when she performed "Material Girl" (my favorite) during The Reinvention Tour. I won't be seeing this Madonna tour either, but I really hope she puts a lot of thought and heart, and HITS into it (and fucking NEEDS to perform "Rain" and "I'll Remember", which won't happen).

Reba shows are an interesting mix of people, too. From genuine cowboys to drag queens, truck drivers, and everything in between. It's fun to have a few beers and chat with people before the show (these days, it would be an edible, as I no longer drink).

I'm biased, but definitely go to a Reba show if you get the chance. And go a little early for people watching. It's almost as fun as the show itself.

I was at the show at the link. I didn't make the featured recording, but if you listen hard enough, you can hear me screaming.

R83 has posted every negative comment on this thread

by Anonymousreply 84April 14, 2023 4:17 PM

by Anonymousreply 86April 14, 2023 4:32 PM

R83 that’s hilarious! 😝

by Anonymousreply 87April 14, 2023 7:35 PM

by Anonymousreply 88April 14, 2023 7:42 PM

Reba is coming to LA and NY! Hellfire! I gotta tell Ma! Hey, Ma! That red headed cuntry bitch who sang that Bobby Gentry song you liked is gonna attempt some concerts! Say you’d rather have all of your teeth pulled as to be forced to endure 90 minutes listening to that cunt warble out some country tunes? I hear ya, Ma.

by Anonymousreply 89April 14, 2023 7:45 PM

Why do these country stars want to come to NY and LA? They should keep that shit in HillBilly Land.

by Anonymousreply 90April 14, 2023 7:53 PM

R88 LMFAO 😂

by Anonymousreply 91April 14, 2023 10:21 PM

by Anonymousreply 93April 15, 2023 11:34 AM

Based on the LA show thread, I looked on stubhub and picked up some tickets to the msg show for $20, never seen her in concert before should be fun. I’m not as familiar with her music, but I was a fan of the tv show, my friend I’m going with is from Florida and grew up listening to her and is a super fan. I only know fancy from drag queens doing it and the survivor song from the tvshow.

by Anonymousreply 94April 15, 2023 11:47 AM

Sure am! Got crazy discounted tickets on StubHub. Tix are on sale for as low as $6. No joke. It would’ve been rude not to given the deals.

by Anonymousreply 95April 15, 2023 11:49 AM

R95 wowww I feel like I missed out on the real bargains by paying $20 awhile back. I just looked and there are still $8 seats, but $10 for really good seats. Even better if it’s asshole scalpers taking a haircut on unsold tickets, the original price for tix was $100-300.

by Anonymousreply 96April 15, 2023 11:55 AM

R95 that’s cheaper than a cup of coffee here

by Anonymousreply 97April 15, 2023 11:59 AM

She sings a lot of the man that got away, lost love, he didn’t love me type songs and I think gay men connect with that

by Anonymousreply 101April 15, 2023 2:45 PM

[quote] "This was the moment she cemented her gay icon status. It’s tame for now, but that red dress was on the front page of every paper the next morning. JLo followed in her footsteps."

She said in an interview that when she asked her mom or dad (who were in the audience) what they thought of the performance, one of them said "I think you need a few more sequins."

An (ACTUAL) iconic moment in Reba's career, and country music, R85.

by Anonymousreply 102April 15, 2023 2:54 PM

R102 lol

by Anonymousreply 103April 15, 2023 3:58 PM

She sings live unlike Ms. Jackson who just kicked off her 2023 tour to scathing reviews.

by Anonymousreply 104April 15, 2023 4:16 PM

Janet Jackson doesn’t “tour”. She does two or three lame shows and then cancels the rest.

by Anonymousreply 105April 15, 2023 7:37 PM

R105 careful you’ll summon Janbot here

by Anonymousreply 106April 15, 2023 9:21 PM

Fuck her. She campaigned for George W. Bush. Probably will go all in for DeSantis if he gets the nom.

by Anonymousreply 107April 15, 2023 9:29 PM

R107 she did no such thing, psycho.

by Anonymousreply 108April 15, 2023 9:55 PM

Thanks to the OP annd other posters for the heads up. I never seen her before but snapped up the cheap tickets and must say it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. At the beginning after she did her first two songs and paused to talk,, the crowd gave her the most intense standing ovation, cheering, screaming and clapping I’ve ever heard at a concert, while chanting her name too for like two or three minutes and she started crying it was a really cool moment. Openers were great too and Reba did the few songs I knew and now I’ll have to check out more on streaming. She is a truly exceptional performer, she commands the room

by Anonymousreply 109April 16, 2023 6:48 AM

R95 how was it?

by Anonymousreply 110April 16, 2023 2:26 PM

by Anonymousreply 112April 16, 2023 2:33 PM

R110- It was… ok. I thought she’d have a bit more of a dynamic stage presence and I can’t say she electrified the Garden. R109 was spot on regarding the touching standing ovation she received. That was probably the best moment. I’m glad I went and gladder for the discounted tix.

by Anonymousreply 119April 20, 2023 1:53 AM
