Undercuts are disconnected while fades are connected.

You can also have a high fade or low fade. The blending is what gives the fade the effect it has.

The back and sides are a fade cut. The ridiculous permed hair on top is called the “Meet me at McDonalds” haircut (I honestly didn’t make that up).

That's how I shape my curly Italian head of hair with my buzz clippers I got from Walmart over 15 years ago. It's easy and low maintenance. I only cut it during the hot summer months, and allow it to grow out in winter. I still get compliments on my full head of naturally dark curly hair. :-)
