It is an older apartment, R41. He said it was built in the 1920’s. And the ceilings are pretty high. You just can’t see the apartment for the clutter.

I remember something from the "White Lotus" thread (I think Reddit was the original source) that Imperoli & his wife kept to themselves during the shooting & were kind of "out there" - after seeing that apartment, I completely believe that.

All I could think of during that tour was Tony & Carmelo touring that house, talking in the car home afterwards with Tony bitching "I clearly pay him too fucking much money" while Carmelo both loves it & is wildly jealous of wife having complete freedom to do whatever she wants with her him. The cast was full of amazing, not-yet famous stars besides him: Lili Taylor, Ron Eldard, and Adrian Pasdar. This was maybe 30 years ago. Sad to hear Chumley's is seemingly gone now. I used to like going there.

I had to laugh when they showed him putting the painting back after looking for a book, because they usually never show you THAT part of this particular design trend.

People who love and are proud of their books display their books unhidden. They don't obscure them behind paintings. People who are proud of their artwork display it on walls.

Putting anything in front of your books suggests to me you're not a serious reader. You would think the apartment would be large enough to accommodate both books in their place and art in its place. The problem is the amount of tacky shit and faux-classical sculpture that take up the place, due to the pretentious posturings of Imperioli's tacky wife, who has all the taste of a third wife of a Russian oligarch.

The people who put pictures on the bookshelves in front of books tend to be designers whose books are for decoration, old money types who keep the books because they're the family library but have no plans on reading them, or people in tiny apartments who are looking for space.

I suspect Victoria was behind using this particular idea for their apartment, mostly because it was trendy, while Michael actually reads the books and so has to move the paintings when he's looking for something.

What's really jarring is that he is so different from Christopher Musanti. Yes, I know that's what acting is, but he played that character very well.

When you google "Michael Imperioli address", one of the results is 304 West 75th Street which is near Riverside Park. If you had asked me to choose from a set of photos of different styled apartments as to which was lived in by Michael Imperioli - I would never have guessed the one he actually lives in.

1. His office room, with all the guitars and bookshelves. He said they hold meditations in there.

2. That room that was formerly a closet with the shrines and walls plastered with colorful posters.

If you look at the floor plan in the listing it seems the meditation closet is the closet of the guitar room.
