The "friend" who announced Lisa Loring's death on Facebook thoughtfully mentioned that Lisa had been a heavy smoker. Let's not pass up a chance to shame smokers even after they're dead. The friend failed to mention whether Lisa also had poor dietary habits.

In 1973, Loring was wed for the first time at age 15, marrying her childhood sweetheart Farrell Foumberg. The following year, she had her first child, but tragedy befell her when her mother Judith died of chronic alcoholism at the age of 34.

Loring returned to acting with 1977’s Halloween with the New Addams Family and scored appearances in popular network shows Fantasy Island and Barnaby Jones. In the early 1980s, she had a recurring part in CBS soap As the World Turns, playing the character of Cricket Montgomery.

With her television career winding down, Loring appeared in a series of slasher pics in the late 1980s. She starred in Blood Frenzy and Savage Harbor (both in 1987) and Iced (1988), but the push into features was short-lived, and a troubled personal life, including a battle with heroin addiction, effectively ended her acting career.

High blood pressure is very treatable. She must've not been taking medication to regulate it.

Medication doesn't cure high blood pressure. It only controls it. Tobacco smoke contains harmful chemicals which damage the ability of the heart to function properly. Smoking causes atherosclerosis a disease in which plaque builds up in you arteries leading to PAD peripheral arterial disease which can lead to strokes.

"Regulate" doesn't mean "cure." A person's blood pressure can be brought to normal levels with medication. I have a relative who's been on blood pressure meds for over 50 years and is now in his 80s and has never had any medical issues.

R67 Did you ever read Jerry Butler's autobiography, "Raw Talent?" It's a very bipolar read. Sometimes he came off as a complete asshole, and other times he sounded very sweet and gentle. He said his marriage to Lisa was volatile and that she could never really get comfortable with him working in porn, but he never blamed her for their breakup.

He also wrote about how male casting directors would always pursue him, but he would never give in. He did write about one adult movie director, Chuck Vincent, who was gay and who cast Jerry in a lot of his movies, including some of the low-budget non-porn movies he made. He said Vincent was very good to him and that he had genuine love for Vincent and wished he could have given himself to himself physically.

I'm not sure I believe that Butler didn't let a guy or two suck his cock to get a part, though.
