I am so sad, bitches.
Super talented guy. Television was influential on NYC punk.

Rockers rarely make it to 75. And almost never past 80.

I loved Friction! Almost as much as Venus.

Nonsense! most of the old sixties rockers are all near 80 or over and still very much around.

He was a post punk pioneer and a pretty good looking twink to boot!

He played on Patti Smith’s album Gung Ho, the track called Glitter in their Eyes, and he was amazing.

The late 70s and early 80s had really good music. A lot of experimental sounds. I always felt music shouldn't be separated by decades but by are eras that can usually overlap decades.

I'm not really familiar with Television, but I've read articles where Blondie members have said they were greatly influenced by Television.

His heart stopped beating.
That’ll do it.

Awww, that’s a shame. I loved his Motel 6 commercials where he’d tell us he’ll leave the light on for us.

"Marquee Moon" is one of those songs that should have been all over the radio in the 70s like damn "Freebird" and "Stairway to Heaven" were. Just glorious.

He probably made more money from Bowie covering his "Kingdom Come" than from anything else he ever did.

this guy just went about his work.... highly influential and yet known by relatively few.
I love the rockers who don't have to be in your face through the years, may his music continue to be discovered.

I very much remember this album cover, but was never tempted to listen.

this stuff sounds better now than it did 45 years ago.
i guess i finally caught up!
i swear one morning we were all listening to the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, and the next it was Blondie the Ramones, and Talking Heads...... that NYC downtown scene really broke through big time.
...and not a moment too soon.

I'm listening to Marquee Moon now (song and album). I met this really nice guy at unemployment in NY in 1977 who told me about Television. And he got me an interview at Young & Rubicam (ad agency). His name was Ron, and he was so cute. He's who I think of when I hear Marquee Moon. I ended up moving to LA. I wonder what ever happened to him.

Juar thought you looked like you'd be a Marquee Moon fan ... Still in the city, thanks for asking R22
