Mine was a 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger. Bought at age 16 in 1986.
What was the year, make and model of your first car?

OP, my dad had a 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger similar to this one. Blue with white vinyl top that cracked and peeled away over the years.

1983 Chevrolet Caprice Classic wagon, same color as this one. It was my mom's car but she bought a new minivan, a pontiac trans sport which we referred to as the "dust buster" - those vans were ugly!

A yellow 1978 mustang. I bought it 1982 when I worked at White Castle near Chicago. Wow, I miss those days. My boyfriend ( now Husband) called me Mustang Sally.

Isn’t this sometimes an option for an online security question to establish identity? Why are people so quick to overshare data that can be scraped and used for identity theft?

Is it really R11? It just seems like a generic question.

I never thought about it, but R11 is right. It is often a security question.

Why was the other thread closed, r1? What could possibly be troll-worthy about a discussion on cars?

1968 Rambler American - two door sedan. This color of blue.
Six cylinder automatic.
Vacuum wipers - when you pressed down on the accelerator, the wipers stopped.

My dad bought me this when I was a junior in college. 1968 Plymouth Fury III - man, it sat 7! Three in the front, four in the back- we weren't fat in the early 80s.

I envied the old couple across the street because their long, low green Mercury had venetian blinds in the back window.
I always looked forward to seeing it parked on the street.

So embarrassing...a 1983 Renault Alliance. Motor Trend's "car of the year."
Last time I ever listen to Motor Trend. It was a plastic-y POS that I hated driving.

So far I guess I had the best car. Even if it was a year old when I got it.

I remember a McDonald's coworker excitedly showing off her newly purchased used blue Gremblin. Once, she let me borrow it, which seems weird to me now for barely aquatinted teens to do, and I drove it to an of of town disco. Night fever indeed.

1977 Oldsmobile 98 Regency. It was 6 years old when I bought it and had a lousy repaint job- I did not realize it until many years later that the car had been in an accident and had been rebuilt and repainted- I assumed at the time that 1977 Oldsmobiles creaked- still the car was reliable and VERY comfortable for the 6 months that I owned it.

A metallic green 1964 Chevy Impala, until a woman with a dog in her lap drove into my lane, totaling both cars.
