It does but since many people think the gay rights struggle ended with the right to marriage, HRC and other such organizations had to pivot to trans rights to stay relevant and continue to raise money.

They would love it if they all passed, of course, but much of the point of this onslaught is to desensitize people to it. If there's a new bill introduced every workday, eventually people don't even react when it happens. That means fewer news reports on it, fewer protests, and more bills passed quietly without anyone really noticing until people start getting fired or arrested or what have you.

And just a reminder: don't let anyone tell you these are only bills about trans. That's not true, it's been proven to not be true, and anyone who says otherwise is lying to you for sketchy reasons.

Datalounge has long attracted cranks who make a coordinated effort to undermine the HRC any time it's mentioned, which has always been sketchy to me, and they always do exactly what they did in this thread: ignore what was said and complain that the HRC doesn't cater entirely to old white gays anymore.

This "the HRC doesn't work on a state level" argument is new, and it's directly contradicted by the article itself and the HRC website. I know, the cranks will say that the HRC is lying, but their only proof is "it's true bro, totally believe it."

This is ENTIRELY about laws on the state level, what the HRC has learned about them and what they're doing about it. The claim that they don't do anything until it becomes a national problem is just wrong.

Reread what you posted. They aren't doing anything. They review the bill, they make a statement. Big whoop. People do that all the time on social media; I'd expect better from a national organization that claims it works for LGBT equality. Whetes the actually action? Tell me: Do you work for any state-level LGBT organizations and do you lobby at your state house? And has HRC helped your organization or its goals in any way?

No. They haven't. Because they don't.

They'll gladly siphon off dollars from your local community, though, all to pay for their executives while letting interns do the office/lobbying visits. But if you want a statement to the media. . .well, HRC is your go-to.

Nothing from the Human Rights Campaign should be declared fact. They got outed for lying about tranny death numbers more than once.
