This woman face looks as dull as Chloe Sevinnney.

by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 25, 2023 8:49 PM |
I'm looking forward to it, I think she's great. Her Golden Globes appearance slayed.

Wasn't he one of the background noses in the movie "Fame"?
You know. With that dead lead singer of the Raisenets.

Just pirate it, bro
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 25, 2023 8:56 PM |
r10 i used to use ProjectFreeTV and stream all kinds of shows (including Love Island UK, pre-Caroline Flacks's sad demise), but then it went defunct and I've never found an alternative.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

As long as you have a good adblocker like ublock origin you'll be fine with any number of the streaming sites.

Awesome, thanks r12!!! And yes, I do have adblocker software.

Natasha Lyonne = Natasha Bianca Lyonne Braunstein.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 25, 2023 9:24 PM |
CAA sure has been demanding recognition for these perennial faves.
I’m glad they come to DL to collect it. A true grass-snoots campaign.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 25, 2023 9:40 PM |
r20 it's no surprise that Natasha Lyonne is a topic of interest on a gay forum.

by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 26, 2023 1:48 AM |
Fuck no. Rian Johnson is awful, and Natasha Lyonne sounds like an ashtray. Hard pass.

Peacock finally has a show that's worth pirating!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 26, 2023 6:27 PM |
No Braunstein in my living room.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 26, 2023 11:30 PM |
She played the lead role in the classic lesbian coming-of-age movie, "But I'm a Cheerleader" (2000). She should be a DL Fave.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 26, 2023 11:37 PM |
r27 she is a DL fave except for the eldergays who haven't left their hovels since 1989 and have no idea who she is.

But the eldergays comprise 60% of Datalounge.

They show a preview practically time I turn to Peacock. I haven't watched it yet because I'm not a fan of Adrien Brody.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 27, 2023 12:37 AM |
I love her. She’s talented.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 27, 2023 12:48 AM |
She's amazing in this and Russian Doll. Glad she got her shit together, she was a drug addicted mess a few years back.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 29, 2023 2:28 AM |
“Fuck you, dog! Fuck you, dog!” made me laugh out loud.

It was entertaining. We’ll done and better than most of the garbage on Netflix. wc nes with Lyonne and Brody were fun. it’s rare these days to see obviously Jewish actors doing their, thing. They should come up with a good project for Luonne, Brody, Sarah Silverman, Fran D and other actors who,are comfortable being Jewish.

I'm on episode2 so far and love it. NL has a great body.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 29, 2023 1:27 PM |
I watched the first episode last night. Really loved it
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 29, 2023 1:46 PM |
Love her.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 29, 2023 2:17 PM |
I like her. She’s different. She could eat half these new stars for breakfast.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 29, 2023 2:20 PM |
“Cartoonish, over-the-top woman thrills audience full of homosexuals.”
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 29, 2023 2:24 PM |
I watched all 4 episodes that are available, and I love it. It’s like she is a new Jessica Fletcher. I didn’t realize she would be solving a new mystery every episode. Natasha is so very watchable. Great guest stars, too.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 29, 2023 2:29 PM |
Is Natasha the new Bonita Granville?
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 29, 2023 3:32 PM |
I think it's a great show so far. It has an almost Columbo flavor to it. I like how they begin each episode then flashback to show how she's involved. I wonder if it will be her on the run the whole time or if she'll settle somewhere and become a police/FBI fact finder or whatever. Her voice, though, can be almost too gravely to listen to without being distracted.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 29, 2023 4:23 PM |
This is the first thing I've seen that makes me want to put Peacock on my (overstuffed) Roku.
Can anyone tell me if it can be watched on the free, stuffed-with-commercials tier, or do I have to subscribe?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 30, 2023 12:45 AM |
r47 there's a link to watch it free upthread.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 30, 2023 1:17 AM |
She's a fascinating woman. Love watching her in anything. Russian Doll was mesmerizing.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 30, 2023 1:23 AM |
It’s fantastic! Watch’s first 2 episodes today and forced myself to stop and not binge the 4 available because I want to savor it
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 30, 2023 1:52 AM |
It’s very good. I love Natasha Lyonne, she’s basically a chainsmoking Muppet.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 30, 2023 2:50 AM |
Is she lez? She smells of self oil changes and power tools.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 30, 2023 3:03 AM |
Loving it. Natasha is great. Yes it’s about murders but it’s nice to not feel depressed and existentially wrung out like you do after watching most HBO or Netflix shows.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 30, 2023 1:41 PM |
I couldn't get through the first episode. Maybe it's because I have covid and the comedic parts seemed unnecessary. People are raving about it.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 30, 2023 2:37 PM |
If she gets sick again, Jinkx Monsoon can take her place.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 30, 2023 3:06 PM |
Is Lyonne still with Fred Armisen? Chloe Sevigny looks like hell on a cracker.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 30, 2023 3:18 PM |
She broke up with Fred Armisen. I thought the same about Chloe, she looked rough as hell. I don't know if that's how she really looks or if they just uglied her up for the show.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 30, 2023 3:23 PM |
R53 I found the murder in episode 2 pretty grim and depressing.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 30, 2023 4:18 PM |
I liked the 1st episode but then it kind of lost me in Episode 2. I don't plan on watching this every week to see - surprise! - she solves a mystery, so what's the point.
Never watched Murder, She Wrote either. This is like "The Hitcher" or something.
I've had sufficient.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | January 30, 2023 9:24 PM |
Episode 2 — fun. I'd never heard of Hong Chau before the Oscar nomination but she's great as a conspiracy theorist dyke trucker.
But John Ratzenberger! He must have put on 100 pounds since Cheers. He's a whale.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | January 31, 2023 5:12 AM |
Hong Chau was great, maybe she'll come back in another episode.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 31, 2023 5:21 AM |
Episode 3 is the best so far.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 31, 2023 12:26 PM |
No, I don't like Rian Johnson's writing.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 31, 2023 2:12 PM |
Cliff looked like he ate Norm.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | January 31, 2023 3:12 PM |
Episode 5 is da bomb. Literally.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 2, 2023 6:05 PM |
Loved Judith Light in ep. 5
"So what are we gonna watch tonight? You gonna keep going with Euph-whorica?"
Judith: "Kids who think they invented fucking? No thank you."
by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 2, 2023 7:30 PM |
While watching the latest episode I was really struck by how great Natasha looks for 43, especially considering all the smoking and her former druggie years.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 3, 2023 12:08 AM |
I've never liked her, I don't think I'll change that any time soon.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 3, 2023 12:11 AM |
I just watched episode 4, which was hilarious. I loved the one-hit-wonder metal band from the 2000s now dealing with acid reflux and AARP invitations, and the dumb kid on the tour who spends his time watching reruns of "Benson."
by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 4, 2023 2:23 AM |
She kind of creeps me out, which is funny since I love that same voice on Kathleen Turner.
But I suppose I'll give this show a try.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 4, 2023 2:51 AM |
Also liked the stray dog that wouldn't stop barking unless Natasha put on right-wing radio.
"Oh! You racist, homophobic, anti-Semitic piece a shit DAWG!"
by Anonymous | reply 71 | February 4, 2023 2:57 AM |
Not a big NL fan, but I watched the first episode tonight and enjoyed it. I like how the credits recall the 70s style of Columbo, Rockford, etc. NL reminds me in moments of Angie Dickinson and Gena Rowlands. She’s actually aging into a more interesting actress.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | February 4, 2023 5:06 AM |
As others have said, Lyonne looks really good in spite of all the smoking and years of hard drug use.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | February 4, 2023 5:09 AM |
I couldn’t get into Russian Doll but loving this series and Natasha in it. The fight scene with Judith Light and S. Epatha Merkinson in this week’s episode was hilarious!
by Anonymous | reply 74 | February 4, 2023 5:10 AM |
I will give it a try.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | February 4, 2023 5:48 AM |
It's unabashedly a Columbo reboot. I'm cool with it. Bisexual Ben Bratt is in the first episode and he's aged very well.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | February 4, 2023 7:15 AM |
Surely you meant Judith Light's Poker Face, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 77 | February 4, 2023 7:37 AM |
I'm glad I gave this show 3 episodes. The first 2 really struggle but once it settles into the Columbo formula it's a blast. This last one was incredible.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | February 4, 2023 7:48 AM |
I've never seen Columbo and neither have most people under 100.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | February 4, 2023 2:30 PM |
You're a dumbass, R79. Columbo remains incredibly popular worldwide, including with people who weren't born when it was originally on the air.
"You're old" isn't a witty zinger; it's just rude.
I've only seen the first episode of Poker Face but I loved it and look forward to watching more.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | February 4, 2023 2:33 PM |
Sorry r80 but Columbo isn't exactly a big show to people who weren't alive when it was originally on. All I know is it starred that guy with the glass eye.
Poker Face is a great show, though.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | February 4, 2023 2:52 PM |
I liked Russian doll but sometimes she struck me as Al Pacino in a woman's body. "Hey, I'm a New Yorkah! Bada bing Bada boom"
I still think she's hilarious and different from a lot of boring actresses Lily Collins like actresses out there.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | February 4, 2023 2:58 PM |
Natasha Lyonne has what a lot of actresses today don't have - charisma and personality.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | February 4, 2023 3:03 PM |
Everything that comes out of her mouth is hilarious, compelling and sincere. She always plays the same character but it's a highly entertaining one so no one cares. She's Generation X's Jennifer Coolidge.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | February 4, 2023 4:58 PM |
I thought I’d give it a whirl Baden on the rave reviews it’s getting, & I can’t praise it enough. Natasha is wonderful as usual, the layout of the crime is so clever, & the show is laugh out loud funny (omg the Judith Light-S. Epatha Merkeson & Natasha Lyonne fight scene). I binged all 5 eps in 2 days & now I have to wait til Thursday just to see 1 at a time!
by Anonymous | reply 85 | February 6, 2023 2:50 AM |
I did too, r85.
E1 great, E2,3,4, kinda week. E5, the one that is sent to Emmy and SAG.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | February 6, 2023 4:20 AM |
Lyonne really ought to play Clara Bow.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | February 6, 2023 9:22 AM |
I love this show and went back to watch Columbo, which I somehow entirely missed even though I am an eldergay. Holy shit, she has his voice.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | February 9, 2023 3:15 PM |
It makes me want to watch Columbo too. She just talks like that though!
by Anonymous | reply 89 | February 9, 2023 3:46 PM |
I just started rewatching Columbo on Peacock because of this thread. They are similar! I love both shows.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | February 9, 2023 5:58 PM |
I enjoyed this week’s episode but it probably my least favorite of the season. Ellen Barkin seemed to be having a ball with her role. It would have been more effective had they cast a stronger actor than Tim Meadows to play opposite her.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | February 11, 2023 5:43 AM |
I’m disappointed that the facts that Charlie’s on the run from the mob and has the ability to detect a lie seem only to be periodically remembered by the scriptwriters.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | February 11, 2023 12:56 PM |
R92, my only gripe too but it's still fun. I agree about the most recent episode is the weakest. I don't really care for Ellen Barkin is probably why for me. Aren't there only three episodes left?
by Anonymous | reply 93 | February 11, 2023 1:21 PM |
[quote] Her Golden Globes appearance slayed.
That’s enough, gramps.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | February 11, 2023 1:25 PM |
Yeah, this week’s episode was a bit of a snooze.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | February 11, 2023 1:57 PM |
r92, every once in a while they show a clip of the mobsters with her in a car chase.
It seems to be a teaser for Season 2.
They haven't forgotten.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | February 11, 2023 7:32 PM |
^Perhaps not. But someone has forgotten proper sentence structure.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | February 11, 2023 7:57 PM |
Judith Light should play Chloe Sevigny’s mother in something
by Anonymous | reply 98 | February 11, 2023 8:01 PM |
Chloe Sevigny looks like hot hell. WTF happened to her?
by Anonymous | reply 99 | February 11, 2023 9:21 PM |
R97, Please, for cunt to go fuck dem self. .
by Anonymous | reply 100 | February 11, 2023 9:28 PM |
Am I the only one who enjoyed the latest episode with Ellen barkin. I actually thought it was pretty funny particularly the play within the show and those southern baked accents.

Southern fried
by Anonymous | reply 102 | February 11, 2023 11:49 PM |
I don’t like her. I used to like her in the early part of her career, but…her sober self was quite rude to me in lobby of the SJF THEATER. She body-blocked the will call window to chat and had to be asked by more than just me to get out of he way. Then she vaped…
No thx
by Anonymous | reply 103 | February 11, 2023 11:53 PM |
Great actress and she picks good roles. Talented and lucky.
by Anonymous | reply 104 | February 12, 2023 12:49 AM |
R103, using that volunteer usher POWER!!!
by Anonymous | reply 105 | February 12, 2023 5:48 AM |
R103 sounds sniffy, snooty and uppity. I bet Natasha was a garrulous ton of fun.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | February 12, 2023 9:47 AM |
I watch it for her Nancy Wilson hair alone.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | February 12, 2023 10:12 AM |
Anyone in the UK know how/where we can watch it?
by Anonymous | reply 108 | February 12, 2023 10:22 AM |
Her appearance on WWHL last week was hilarious. Disclosing she read for the roles of Blossom, Six, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Curly Sue, among others, was awesome.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | February 12, 2023 10:36 AM |
R109 lol imagining a hard-drinking cracksmoking openly bisexual Sabrina with a Yankee accent

R105 and R106. Actually, I just wanted to pick up my own ticket at the window…you know, so I could see the show.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | February 12, 2023 11:59 AM |
I like the set ups, but it’s always silly how Charlie comes in and solves the crime within minutes.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | February 12, 2023 12:45 PM |
[quote]Actually, I just wanted to pick up my own ticket at the window…you know, so I could see the show.
Which show?
by Anonymous | reply 114 | February 12, 2023 3:46 PM |
One of those plays about an angst-y UWS family…I think it was the one with Jessica Hecht
by Anonymous | reply 115 | February 12, 2023 5:22 PM |
Is she still with Fred armisen? He's a great impressionist but he makes me uneasy. I just wouldn't want to know him.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | February 13, 2023 4:27 AM |
R116 you'll be heartened to know they broke up last year.
I think they lean on the bullshit detector thing just enough to make it believable and not too gimmicky. This last episode was the campiest yet. Not the best written, but it was entertaining. Ellen Barkin and Tim Meadows managed to have some chemistry to me.

I just watched Time of the Monkey and when Luca told Charlie to contact him if she ever needed him I looked at Simon Helberg's IMDB page and he's in episode 10 of the first season.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | February 19, 2023 12:19 AM |
She looks sexy in the OP cover pic, even with the ugly hillbilly baseball cap on and the dried split ends.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | February 19, 2023 12:32 AM |
After that post about everything that happened to her (drugs, open heart surgery, etc.) I would have appreciated the gif with the mature woman saying "Jesus!" Can someone please post that?
What color would you say her hair is?
by Anonymous | reply 122 | February 19, 2023 6:15 AM |
The wig she wears on the show is purposely made to look like a faded red dye job.
Hard to say what her real hair looks like these days - she's worn nothing but wigs in public appearances too.
by Anonymous | reply 123 | February 21, 2023 12:40 AM |
I got hooked on it this weekend. On episode 4 and loving this show - throwback to the old detective shows in the 70s.

Staplehead!
by Anonymous | reply 125 | February 21, 2023 1:57 AM |
What do you think of episode 5, r124? I think it's the Emmy submit episode.
by Anonymous | reply 126 | February 21, 2023 2:02 AM |
I felt that episode 7 was the strongest so far. It made use of Charlie’s bullshit detector in clever but not gimmicky ways.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | February 21, 2023 2:20 AM |
She’s too old to play Clara Bow. Anyway she is more like Joan Blondell.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | February 21, 2023 2:52 AM |
It’s fine but the premise gets old quickly.
Isn’t it weird that, wherever she is, someone gets murdered? Like Jessica Fletcher
by Anonymous | reply 129 | February 21, 2023 11:04 AM |
R129 isn’t that the point? It’s a throwback to those shows with a modern twist. I see what you mean though, the formula is a bit repetitive.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | February 21, 2023 12:25 PM |
Episode 5 was stupid. The Judith Light character climbs up the trellis in broad daylight and no one sees her???? Stupid stupid stupid. Every other outside shot had all kinds of people mulling about. Just NO for an Emmy submission.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | February 21, 2023 12:53 PM |
Episode 5 was entertaining, but not Emmy worthy. A little too far-fetched.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | February 21, 2023 4:07 PM |
Episode 5 was fun.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | February 21, 2023 6:34 PM |
Nobody died in the latest episode
by Anonymous | reply 134 | February 21, 2023 10:53 PM |
Not for lack of trying, R134. I liked that it didn't have a tidy ending.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | February 22, 2023 2:10 AM |
This show is amazing. Natasha for all the awards.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | February 22, 2023 5:09 AM |
Natasha’s character is as annoying as Columbo and Jessica Fletcher. Always butting in everyone’s business. We need someone just once to tell Charlie to shut the fuck up with that manly voice.
by Anonymous | reply 137 | February 22, 2023 11:02 AM |
There are two things wrong with this show:
1. The audience knows who did it from the start 2. Her cheat is a little too unrealistic and unsubtle. Too gimmicky. Why not just have her ask all the characters, “Did you do it?”
So what’s the point? I watched two episodes to see if they would change the format. I think her character is a little over the top, but not without appeal.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | February 22, 2023 11:11 AM |
I can't believe how much NL sounds like Julie Kavner's "Marge Simpson". If ever they have to cast the character of her mother in this series, they have to go with Julie Kavner. If Kavner says no, then they have to go with Sally Struthers - as NL looks a lot like SS when she was Lyonne's age.
by Anonymous | reply 139 | February 22, 2023 4:12 PM |
Cherry Jones looked unrecognisable in that wig. Loved her delivery of "Horse! Who are you?"
They could have included Tim Russ in the opening credits, that was nasty.
by Anonymous | reply 140 | February 23, 2023 5:06 PM |
[quote]1. The audience knows who did it from the start 2. Her cheat is a little too unrealistic and unsubtle. Too gimmicky. Why not just have her ask all the characters, “Did you do it?”
She's trying to get "cop evidence" so the guilty will suffer the consequences. Obviously, she could ask them outright if they did it and then watch them cover all their tracks, destroy existing evidence or try to kill her.

What’s a Cherry Jones?

It's ok, but odd that she plays a disheveled drifter that has perfect makeup and amazing teeth. Also, the product placement is incredibly distracting and blatant. The Subway murder episode was basically a 50 minute commercial.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | February 23, 2023 6:59 PM |
The showrunner said there is no product placement on this show. Every product they decided to include, they decided to include on their own and weren't compensated for it. You're seeing those products because the show takes place in our own universe where these products exist.
by Anonymous | reply 146 | February 23, 2023 7:09 PM |
R146 The showrunner might be telling the truth, but stills from the show would indicate that some sort of deal with Subway was involved.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | February 23, 2023 7:19 PM |
Why? You don't see Subway in real life?
Charlie constantly checking her Casio watch in the second episode seemed far more blatant, yet still wasn't product placement. Your belief that this show features product placement was reasonable and is quite widespread, it just happens to be incorrect in this particular case, that's it.
by Anonymous | reply 148 | February 23, 2023 7:24 PM |
R148 I didn't notice the Casio thing but will check out that episode again. Well spotted.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | February 23, 2023 7:32 PM |
I was actually looking up Casio watches online just that week, saw the episode, and then couldn't decide which model to buy because Charlie's looked so good. Still haven't settled on one!

I like Natasha a lot. She's a good actress, even though she tends to "play herself" in a lot of what she does. Chloë has more range IMO and is overall the better actress. As for the comments about Chloë looking rough: She's a lifelong chainsmoker pushing 50 and raising a toddler. It's no wonder the bitch looks tired. I remember seeing a post on her Instagram shortly after she had her son where she made a comment alluding to the fact that she'd quit smoking, but there are recent pictures of her with cigarettes in-hand, so she clearly didn't give it up. Natasha is also a chainsmoker, which is sketchy given her cardiovascular problems. I also had open-heart surgery in my late 20s (I had a congenital defect) and I quit smoking prior to/after that because it freaked me out too much. Not worth the risk.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | February 23, 2023 8:10 PM |
Natasha is great, her “bullshit meter” is just a touch gimmicky but the writers do a great job at keeping you guessing with a taut script and putting it on the back burner.
I had worked with two women at different points in my life that were exactly like her sunny character in Pokerface, they were SO much fun and a delight to be around.
They delve under the surface and put their spin on day to day interactions, sublimate the normal, and gleefully ingratiate themselves upon you with their spontaneous hilarity. They “touch” you whether you’re aware or not, with kindness and human touch. I work with another woman now that does this “touch” and connects at a much deeper level with others like you or I breathe. It’s a kind of intimacy you must learn very young and I’m a bit jealous.
I really loved how she showed up for a funeral, barely knowing the guy, MARY!
by Anonymous | reply 152 | February 23, 2023 8:34 PM |
Re: Natasha still smoking...the bitch has cheated death and a stalled Hollywood career several times. If anyone had told us she'd be the most successful of the 'American Pie' kids, we would've all been in disbelief. (Jennifer Coolidge was always golden as a character actress and is finally getting her due now.) All that to say, Natasha will probably still be around with Cher and the cockroaches after the apocalypse.

by Anonymous | reply 157 | February 23, 2023 9:38 PM |
R145 got everything wrong.
She’s not a disheveled drifter. She on the run from the mob. She can’t leave an electronic trail, so she takes crappy jobs to get by, have shelter and eat. She’s a smart cookie with no drug or alcohol addiction. She is supposed to be quirky.
See r146 on product placement
by Anonymous | reply 158 | February 23, 2023 10:10 PM |
If anything the Subway placement positioned the company in an even more dreary and soul crushing light for their operators.
There also weren’t any customers in several scenes, not a good look!
Nah, not product placement, just strapping a bit of reality to the narrative.

I think this may have been my favorite episode yet. Great performances by Nick Nolte and Cherry Jones. Look for them to be up for Guest Actor and Actress in Drama Series. Cherry already has three of those, so I’d imagine she will also win this one. She could be up against Ellen Barkin, Judith Light, Hong Chau, Chloe Sevigny, or anyone showing up in the next couple of episodes... The whole category could conceivably be comprised of actresses from POKER FACE.

[quote]Does Nick Nolte have Parkinson’s or was his character just shaky?
I think it may be Essential Tremor (ET), not Parkinson's. ET is not as well known to the general public as Parkinson's, even though it affects 8x as many people. It has some key differences with Parkinson's but is generally not as debilitating and does not have as many other symptoms. Also, the tremors in ET generally occur with movement, whereas Parkinson's tremors tend to be resting tremors.
Katharine Hepburn was the poster child for Essential Tremor, though many people still mistakenly think she had Parkinson's.
I've posted a link to some additional information.

Not AS weird. Unlike Jessica Fletcher (or Columbo, though as a detective you'd expect him to be around murders), who dealt mainly with crimes of the middle to upper classes, Charlie is moving through trailer trash country. Random homicides are probably quite a lot more plentiful there than they are in the Hamptons.

I see that the writers have given Natasha a twitch when she hears a lie so she doesn't have to explain why she keeps saying "bullshit."

I’ve enjoyed all the episodes, but there was a bit of a lull for me in the middle episodes..but these last two installments have been stellar! I am expecting great things from the season finale. I hope I’m not disappointed.
I wish they’d cast someone other than Benjamin Bratt as the baddie. Well, I guess he’s baddie no. 2 since it seems the “Big Bad” is Ron Perlman. Bratt is pretty, but has never been very charismatic.
Nice seeing JGL and hottie David Castañeda. He’s a good actor.

by Anonymous | reply 205 | March 4, 2023 3:02 AM |
I was struck by the fact that so much of Joseph Gordon Levitt’s appeal years ago clearly had to do with his youth and freshness. He’s a middle-aged man now, still attractive, no question, but ordinary and lacking distinction and charisma. And yeah, his nice little package was often front and center if you were looking for it.
Agree with R204, I developed a bit of a crush on David Casteñeda during season one of “Umbrella Academy,” and would rather watch him, big puppy dog eyes, sexy mouth and ass.
by Anonymous | reply 206 | March 5, 2023 1:28 PM |

The scene with her sister was very triggering for me because it echoed a conversation I had long ago and was just like my relationship with my brother today- he had the same resentment that I “ran off having fun to the city” and chose my life being gay while he stayed in our hometown.
When I confessed I was an addict in recovery, his response before I turned dejectedly away was,
“Hey, I gotta think about my kids”.

I read a recent interview with Cherry Jones about her appearance on the show; the interviewer mentioned that the producers have stated that they hope to have some of the actors from Season One return later as different characters, the way “Columbo” did sometimes (Jack Cassidy, Patrick McGhoohan). Jones replied that after the response to the show, a lot of agents will be getting calls from actors wanting to be on the show.

I've watched the first three episodes. I don't get the universal acclaim at all.
Lyonne is the best part of it. The rest...what's impressive?
The setup is impossible to believe. She's basically a superhero human lie detector, except that she's more than that, and she's being led randomly across the country to random places where murders occur just as she arrives in time to solve them.
It's a preposterous premise, and I haven't really enjoyed most of the stories in isolation. Natasha Lyonne is always fun to watch, and that's really the only thing that makes it worth watching to me.

Natasha has talked about being Columbo for a few years. As soon as I read her comments about being Columbo a few years ago I had been hoping for a remake, but Poker Facd does the job nicely.
by Anonymous | reply 244 | March 13, 2023 1:40 PM |
Anyone that takes the premise of the show too seriously shouldn’t bother watching it.
I have had a few bumbling, hysterical friends that blather and posture somewhat aimlessly through life- just like the main character with a heart of gold just like her. They’ve gotten into trouble, land on their feet, and capture your hope and trust along the way. I really miss a few of them and am reminded of them when I watch this show.
What is so attractive is that you know the character cares about people in an uncommon way, her emotions come across genuinely, and there’s bits of unintended comedy around the deaths as well. Natasha really comes across as likable and caring in a way you don’t usually see.
Plus I want to see more of Benjamin, YUM!

My superpower is that I can tell when a woman is pregnant.
It saved a life yet has also been disastrous as well!
Years ago, I read a book about how to read an aura, and can see an energy of what appears like a red, satiny bow similar to Minnie Mouse’s sitting atop someone’s head if they’re pregnant. The brighter and more shimmery, the better health of the baby, but it’s there!
The first time was a coworker, I blurted it out, and she nervously laughed it off. Six weeks later she thanked me because it was an ectopic pregnancy that might have killed her because she would not have gotten to a doctor soon enough had I not told her.
The second time was at another job, she’d been trying to hide the pregnancy and I ruined it telling another coworker and the guy she was involved with found out before she was ready to tell him, oops! She HATED me after that and made my job very difficult.
I don’t offer it up anymore.
I also could tell right away if my ex was lying because a red, energy dot similar to an Indian dot would appear on his forehead when he lied.

by Anonymous | reply 249 | March 13, 2023 9:37 PM |
R248, 1. In person, both me and other person relaxed, and 2. to see the aura, you stare at the person but refocus your eye at the horizon. You should be able to see a greyish shimmer of energy around their silhouette. I needed to practice a bit, and like a muscle, will atrophy without regular use.
I haven’t seen one in awhile, but haven’t gone looking either.
My ex would get SO mad when I could spot him lying, it literally looked like a tiny spot of cherry jam that would quickly appear between his brows while lying. The truth is everyone has a “tell” if you look hard enough.
He was violent, the relationship ended badly, and I think the grace of being able to see that spot likely saved my life!
