Secretary Pete Buttigieg must be President in 2025
by Anonymous | reply 115 | February 24, 2023 7:22 PM |
Because he's such a brilliant Secretary.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 25, 2023 10:01 AM |
If he makes it thru the Primary juggernaut, I will vote for him. Sure ain’t voting for whatever rubbish the Repugnants put on the ballot.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 25, 2023 10:27 AM |
I have a feeling the Biden Family meeting at Camp David this weekend is to decide once and for all about 2024. As for Buttigieg? Never. Not in a million years.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 25, 2023 10:28 AM |
After all the hard work he's done, Pete deserves a nice long vacation.

by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 25, 2023 10:18 PM |

I want Buttigieg as Vice to Kamala!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 25, 2023 10:38 PM |
Genuine question: Why do you all think he would make a great president? What sets him apart from others?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 25, 2023 10:49 PM |
The idea that he could actually be elected is simultaneously hilarious and pathetic.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 25, 2023 10:51 PM |
Buttigieg would make a fine POTUS. Whether he ever gets the chance is another matter. I'd like to think he has a shot but America is so often backward in its thinking about anything/everything.
He's so fucking SMART. I like President Biden just fine, he's doing a great job. He doesn't have that whip-smart intellect like Presidents Obama and Clinton but Pete does have it and I like having that in the top job. I sleep better at night knowing that brainpower is there.

As much as I like him, he doesn’t make the grade.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 25, 2023 11:31 PM |
I think a strong younger Governor like Newsom or Whitmer is the best type of candidate.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 25, 2023 11:31 PM |
He would be a good president with seasoning.
He is great at debating and showing a vision for the future, but he hasn’t produced anything of note that would make the public pay attention.
If he can demonstrate in the next 12 months with the infrastructure bill that he can execute multiple infrastructure projects quickly/under budget that improve people’s lives, he will something to campaign on in 2024.
Otherwise-he should try to run for the Senate in Michigan.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 25, 2023 11:32 PM |
At this stage, I'm not willing to commit to anyone, except Biden.
If Biden chooses not to run, I'll consider other options, focusing primarily on whether I think the person can win in a general election against likely rethug candidates.
I'm not going to annoint anyone this far out, especially with a sitting dem president who has not indicated he won't run.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 25, 2023 11:33 PM |

True Story = I once got a job at Kaiser Permanente. I applied on a lark. Went thru the interview process and shockingly got hired. I was handsome, late 20s. I had a previous fancy job title but that was because my ex had given me the job. I guess they though I was some sort of wunderkind. I was the head of my department. The pay was amazing. But I also had ZERO idea of how to do my job. I had a basic idea but I knew right away I was unqualified. All I did was allocate jobs to people who knew what they were doing, and believe me staff knew how inept I was. The woman who hired me wasn't going to admit she made the mistake of giving me a job, plus I was openly gay so I really had no concern about getting fired. Finally, after 6 months I turned in my resignation...My point is, I really think Pete has a job where he has NO IDEA of how to do it. I am not insulting him, but the fact that he doesn't seem to stay in his office is very telling. And in your office you are surrounded by people all day who know you are totally incompetent and clueless. Ultimately it's Bidens fault for giving Buttigieg the job. But Pete acts more like a traveling Prize Patrol member than a Secretary of Transportation.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 26, 2023 12:54 AM |
We need someone like Josh Shapiro. Middle of the road Dem who will protect social advances but also punish crime and keep the unwashed masses happy.
Pete has a lot of great ideas and maybe in 15-20 years, he can implement them as president.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 26, 2023 12:56 AM |
Is he related to Dr. Shapiro?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 26, 2023 1:04 AM |
Pete knows exactly how to do his job, R30. Whatever he didn't know before he got there, he's learned in the two years since then. He's not exactly slow on the uptake.
He's doing what the POTUS tells him to do, that's his fucking job. He wants Pete on the road (well he IS the Secretary of Transportation) and he wants him laying waste to Faux Noise pieces of shit like Tucker the Shmucker Carlson and the rest of the retards over there.
Buttigieg is doing just fine, he thanks you for your concern.

He was the mayor of a city of 39,000 - the size of a large town. And he wasn't even a good mayor. And he's not a good Secretary. Maybe there are people more qualified to be leader of the free world. And he had the bright idea to tax people for the miles they drive. One of the few travel options poorer people can afford is driving. But don't raise taxes on the rich, pay for infrastructure on the backs of average Americans with a flat tax that will impact the rich the least.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 26, 2023 5:18 AM |
Pete was Mayor of the 310th Largest City in America!!.....310TH!!!....By the way---look it up---MAYOR Pete spent a LOT of time ribbon cutting when he was Mayor. He doesn't know how to do anything else. And he is just doing the same thing as Transportation Secretary. Video. Little Pete cutting ribbon at a brewing company.

Chasten is an albatross around Pete’s neck always mouthing off and putting himself in the spotlight. He reminds me of Hilaria (fka Hilary) Baldwin, and I’m waiting for Chasten’s ‘cucumber moment’.
I agree with supporting Jared Polis instead who is much more competent and credible, and he appeals to a wider base of people. I have no idea who Jared is married to without having to google, and that’s how or should be. Pete is caught in the Peter Principle. He’s good with interviews and should just move on to being a political commentator.

Peter Butt left Indiana......I don't blame him......but there's no loyalty in the man. He's an opportunistic grifter. In other words, the perfect politician.
And remember your Indiana geography:

Pete will never be president. He would be a person that Trump would defeat, since the Dems are 100% dependent on the black vote and so many blacks are homophobic, they won't vote for him. Imagine the dilemma of the black pastor's sermon; an adulterous traitor or a sodomite?

Buttigieg has a recent record that would follow him into any potential 2024 WH run. It seems safe to say he's not well loved by enough all sides to make his way in what will likely be a crowded field.
Even if PB wins the nomination he just ticks off too many conservative/GOP to ever win WH. it isn't just his being gay either; again just his actions and recent record as head of DOT.

I think it's because Polis never got much attention when he was in Congress and doesn't get a whole lot of attention outside Colorado. Sadly, I don't think a gay person could get elected POTUS within the next 20 years. The U.S. is still homophobic and anti-gay Christians still have a lot of power.
