I think the best examples of bands that have truly overstayed their welcome are Maroon 5 and Colplay. I just don't get why in the world they were still a thing once the 2010s decade started. It's just sound like generic musical trash for upper-middle class millennials who pretend to be SJW.
On solo artists, the only one that comes to my mind right now is Jessica Simpson. Never understood her appeal.
Which ones would you consider? It can be from any era.

R1 With Jessica Simpson I meant that she overstayed her welcome after her 2nd album, lol. Then she was just relevant just because of her marriage/divorce with Nick Lachey, and I'll never forgive her for that atrocious cover she did of "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'".

I'd disagree with Maroon 5 and Coldplay. Not that I think they're putting out great material, but because I really don't think they're being shoved in our faces.
When I think "overstayed welcome" I think groups or artists who are for some reason really pressing for relevancy even though people have largely moved on and they're not offering anything - a tour that people want to see, new material - that a significant amount of people want.
