Austin Butler and Paul Mescal’s Oscar nominations mean Timothée Chalamet’s days as Hollywood’s wunderkind are over

Thank God.

I put his face on the Lisa Rinna M&M because he’s just a shill now.

by Anonymousreply 105February 24, 2023 6:37 PM

You know he’s shaking and crying right now.

by Anonymousreply 1January 24, 2023 4:48 PM

I honestly would fire my agent and publicists.

by Anonymousreply 2January 24, 2023 4:52 PM

Barry Keoghan too.

by Anonymousreply 3January 24, 2023 5:49 PM

Make no mistake they are panicking over at Team Chalamet Headquarters right now. His PR's narrative has been spoiled now that we know what happens when he doesn't have a franchise or genuine stars in the cast to help him out. The movie flopped hard and he didn't even get in at the Indie Spirit awards where he had won before. They can say he was borderline supporting all they want but what other high profile male actor was above him in that movie?

by Anonymousreply 4January 24, 2023 5:50 PM

If Butler wins, he'll have to be put on suicide watch.

by Anonymousreply 5January 24, 2023 5:51 PM

I don’t even dislike Timothee but I’m glad he has competition in the young white male actor department. He and his stans needed to be taken down a peg.

by Anonymousreply 6January 24, 2023 5:52 PM

Oh FFS, no one in the Timoverse could possibly have expected any award nominations from his having starred in that cannibal POS. I'm one of Timmy's biggest defenders, and there is no way even I am going to see it. He did it because he feels obligated to Luca. That's all. Get off his back.

by Anonymousreply 7January 24, 2023 6:49 PM

Buh bye Mouseboy.

by Anonymousreply 8January 24, 2023 7:01 PM

Throw that fugly twink in the trash. Paul Mescal is a real man.

by Anonymousreply 9January 24, 2023 7:05 PM

R9: Good luck with his online ad career for AppleTV+ and genderless clothing.

by Anonymousreply 10January 24, 2023 7:27 PM

Maybe everyone in Hollywood will stop wearing non-binary clothes to events now they know it doesn't work. Thank you, Timmy, you talentless fuck!

by Anonymousreply 11January 24, 2023 7:30 PM

Not surprised so many of you prefer noted homophobic bully Paul Mescal (google it).

by Anonymousreply 12January 24, 2023 7:31 PM

He's still coming to terms with getting snubbed for Beautiful Boy.

by Anonymousreply 13January 24, 2023 7:51 PM

r7 So that's the fangirl story is it? A debt to Luca? So why did he demand a producer credit? He knew it would suck, but wanted people to think he was even more involved in the production than just as an actor?

by Anonymousreply 14January 24, 2023 7:57 PM

Given he had a crying fit over his scenes being cut from Interstellar, you can just imagine his reaction now

by Anonymousreply 15January 24, 2023 7:58 PM

R14: He really thought it had a chance at a best picture nom. He can claim that producer credit all he wants but who the fuck is he kidding? As a producer, he just raised some money and then went on vacation.

by Anonymousreply 16January 24, 2023 8:02 PM

LOL, Austin "Phony" Butler is worse than Timothee. Mescal seems like a decent actor, though

by Anonymousreply 17January 24, 2023 8:06 PM

R 4 R16 Some of us have no idea what movie you're talking about. I'm assuming you guys mean Bones And All but I don't follow TC's career very closely.

by Anonymousreply 18January 24, 2023 8:21 PM

R4, R16

by Anonymousreply 19January 24, 2023 8:21 PM

At least Austin isn’t a nepo baby like Timothee.

by Anonymousreply 20January 24, 2023 8:50 PM

Paul Mescal is not a nepo baby neither . Glad Austin and Paul got nominations

by Anonymousreply 21January 24, 2023 9:02 PM

If Butler wins, [bold]I'll[/bold] have to be put on suicide watch.

by Anonymousreply 22January 24, 2023 9:10 PM

The Wonka producers must be shitting their pants. Supposedly he does his own singing? Oh God.

by Anonymousreply 23January 24, 2023 9:24 PM

I saw a Brendan video yesterday with him instructing people the correct pronunciation of certain words. That’s cool, right?

by Anonymousreply 24January 24, 2023 9:36 PM

Timothee needs to strip of and star in a highly sexually charged erotic thriller. Own his appeal and his audience base.

by Anonymousreply 25January 25, 2023 2:36 AM

Timothée to remake Basic Instinct!

by Anonymousreply 26January 25, 2023 2:46 AM

I think they’re both very attractive. I know he’s not really liked here, but I find Tim-o-tay a good actor, better than Butler.

by Anonymousreply 27January 25, 2023 5:37 AM

It will be a total joke if Butler wins but it will be worth it just to watch Chalamet's public meltdown when he has to do press with him for Dune 2. Also, if Mescal in Gladiator 2 ever sees the light of day that will really push him over the edge.

by Anonymousreply 28January 25, 2023 6:02 PM

r28 Was Timothee after a role in Gladiator?

by Anonymousreply 29January 25, 2023 7:01 PM

It was that Red Carpet red monstrosity.

by Anonymousreply 30January 25, 2023 7:06 PM

Glaaaaaaaadiator!

by Anonymousreply 31January 25, 2023 8:07 PM

Not even a lone screenplay nomination for his flop film and he was a "producer" on it.

by Anonymousreply 32January 25, 2023 8:38 PM

Total douchebag. Sunglasses even at night.

by Anonymousreply 33January 25, 2023 9:23 PM

Of course he had to get the spotlight back after Butler and Mescal’s nominations.

by Anonymousreply 34January 25, 2023 9:49 PM

R5….,why would Butler be on suicide watch if he wins the Oscar?

by Anonymousreply 35January 26, 2023 1:37 AM

Aftersun broke me. Glad Mescal was recognized for his performance.

by Anonymousreply 36January 26, 2023 6:46 AM

Are comments being removed? I don't have anyone on ignore

by Anonymousreply 37January 26, 2023 7:00 AM

R37 here. Apparently I did put some posters on ignore.

So how do I un-ignore them?

by Anonymousreply 38January 26, 2023 7:14 AM

I liked Bones and All, and thought Timothée was great in it. 🤷🏻

by Anonymousreply 39January 26, 2023 7:15 AM

Who cares?

by Anonymousreply 40January 26, 2023 10:12 AM

r38 Go to Ignored at the top and you can unignore there. Unless I'm one of the people you ignored, in which case you won't see this.

by Anonymousreply 41January 26, 2023 12:11 PM

Thank you, r41! 👍

by Anonymousreply 42January 27, 2023 12:50 AM

He’s getting nervous. After the Madonna biopic was killed this week, here he is acting like the Bob Dylan film is still happening.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 43January 28, 2023 3:10 AM

Timmy and Co. are going to learn that Dylan isn't a theatrical draw.

by Anonymousreply 44January 28, 2023 11:48 AM

Dear god, Elvis is unwatchable. Did Elvis really talk like that in his day to day life? I couldn’t have stood listening to that for more than 20 seconds. Insufferable.

by Anonymousreply 45January 28, 2023 2:41 PM

Why are people like R7 so invested in a 'movie star'? I don't get it. Curious to know R7's age, seeing as they describe themselves as 'Timmy's biggest defender'.

by Anonymousreply 46January 28, 2023 3:30 PM

R45, I'll bet there might be one or two examples on YouTube of the real Elvis speaking. Just a hunch.

You do know he was from the South, right?

by Anonymousreply 47January 28, 2023 10:58 PM

Here he is talking about Austin Butler and Masters of Air.

by Anonymousreply 48January 29, 2023 2:24 PM

Barry Keoghan is the real deal. He even seemed to elevate that Marvel “Eternals” film.

Wonka seems doomed.

by Anonymousreply 50January 29, 2023 3:32 PM

Not too sure about Austin Butler having much success in the future, but Paul Mescal is a great actor. Timmy should be scared of him.

by Anonymousreply 53January 29, 2023 4:04 PM

Does anyone really think Butler is going to have a post-Elvis career?

by Anonymousreply 54January 29, 2023 4:18 PM

Yes, he’s tall, white and conventionally attractive.

by Anonymousreply 55January 29, 2023 4:20 PM

R54, Considering that Baz and Hanx (yes) are besotted, with Spielberg ("MotA") also fond, plus he did fine work for QT in "OUaTiH"; and given that he's a networker extraordinaire (a GG shout-out to Brad, not the only one, but still!)---I think Austin is destined for, if not greatness, at least a steady career for some decades. But I side with greatness.

With three projects coming out this year---the abovementioned true WW II story "Masters of the Air," as advertised for Apple+ by Timmy, where AB is the lead character; "Dune: Part 2," as the main antagonist Feyd-Rautha to Chalamet's hero Paul; and "Bikeriders," where he plays a motorcycle club/gang member along with Tom Hardy---Austin will have ample opportunity to answer your question.

But then, if his take on "Linda Richman" on SNL didn't convince you...!

by Anonymousreply 56January 29, 2023 5:07 PM

R56: Does Austin give killer blowjobs or what?

by Anonymousreply 57January 29, 2023 5:16 PM

R52: Please fuck me!

by Anonymousreply 58January 29, 2023 5:26 PM

R57, If you are asking seriously: His notable lips notwithstanding, I would think AB is more of an "If you really want to" oral recipient of the Thirsty Casting Couch, LLC.

by Anonymousreply 59January 29, 2023 8:20 PM

Timothee should do a Broadway show to get his lost mojo back.

by Anonymousreply 60January 29, 2023 8:48 PM

But r60, why the Great White Way, when he's going to be his own singing Great White "Wonka"! THIS is being designed as his 2024 BA Oscar. IMO.

The competition:

R55 have you looked at Austin's upcoming films?

Dune: Part Two, Masters of the Air a TV Mini Series and The Bikeriders a crime film which follows the rise of a Midwestern motorcycle club through the lives of its members.

by Anonymousreply 62January 30, 2023 2:43 AM

Yes, snooze all you want, r62.

But Tom Hardy, Florence Pugh, Jodi Comer, Michael Shannon, Barry Keoghan, Timothee Chalamet, Christopher Walken, plus directors Denis Villeneuve, Cary Fukunaga, and Jeff Nichols aren't chopped liver as colleagues go. Nor are they probably viewing their respective 2023 works as cures for insomnia.

by Anonymousreply 63January 30, 2023 5:57 AM

This must be devastating for Timmy. To go from the cover of Time to commercials. Devastating.

by Anonymousreply 64January 30, 2023 6:00 AM

[Quote]. Nor are they probably viewing their respective 2023 works as cures for insomnia.

I'm sure THEY'RE not but I am. Florence Pugh!? Jodi Comer!?

by Anonymousreply 65January 30, 2023 1:35 PM

Why is his name spelled Timothee rather than Timothy? Did his parents name him that or is it a case of Hyacinth Bucket/BOUQUET?

by Anonymousreply 66January 30, 2023 1:43 PM

R65, Jodi Comer:

Thanks ever so, r73. I don't know what I was thinking.

by Anonymousreply 74January 30, 2023 8:06 PM

I guess he'll dropping more of this Apple shit practically every other day until the Oscars. After which Butler and Mescal won't be in the spotlight.

by Anonymousreply 77January 31, 2023 9:02 AM

hey op, is the guy in the pic an indian

by Anonymousreply 78February 22, 2023 4:07 PM

Butler won the BAFTA over Farrell and Fraser. He's looking good for Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 79February 22, 2023 4:10 PM

It will be worth it if Butler wins the Oscar simply to see the studio make his face equal size on the Dune poster

by Anonymousreply 80February 22, 2023 4:19 PM

DUNE 2 starring Oscar Winner AUSTIN BUTLER, Emmy Winner ZENDAYA and a skinny androgyne named Timothee

by Anonymousreply 81February 22, 2023 4:41 PM

Bitch please, TimoTay is so frail he couldn't even hold the Oscar if someone handed it to him.

by Anonymousreply 82February 22, 2023 5:01 PM

R80: It will be worth if they pair him up with TimoTay in junket interviews and they ask Butler how has life changed since winning the Oscar!

by Anonymousreply 83February 22, 2023 6:12 PM

Malek won for playing Freddie Mercury, Butler could very well win for playing Elvis Presley, and Bob Dylan isn’t even close to getting made.

by Anonymousreply 91February 23, 2023 4:22 AM

r43 Not trying hard at all!

by Anonymousreply 92February 23, 2023 4:25 AM

I think it's a pretty close race between Colin Farrell and Brendan Fraser. If there is a such thing as a split vote, Butler has a chance. I think they'll give it to CF.

by Anonymousreply 93February 23, 2023 4:27 AM

Who gave the best performance, though?

by Anonymousreply 100February 23, 2023 7:50 PM

His face is beginning to show some aging in a peculiar way. Is it possible that he’s already had some surgery?

It’s not that he looks like he’s aged ten years in the span of five, but any anything twink-ish has completely drained out of his appearance and persona. He barely meets the minimum of what might be called attractive.

by Anonymousreply 101February 23, 2023 8:54 PM

I thought maybe he had some work done on his chin and jaw. He certainly can afford it now. If he’s had anything done, it is very subtle. His face is devoid of any masculinity at this point.

by Anonymousreply 102February 23, 2023 9:03 PM

I would love to read an actual explanation of why r100 thinks so, in a serious comparison to AB, emphasis on serious. I often think that some critics haven't seen "Elvis."

by Anonymousreply 103February 23, 2023 10:52 PM

It's very Trumpian with many: If your guy wins, it was legit and the award has value. If your fave loses, it was rigged, stolen, and anyway meaningless.

by Anonymousreply 104February 23, 2023 10:56 PM

If he's had work done it is very minor but I don't think he's had anything done yet. His twink days are over that's for sure.
