DL, I need your help naming a 1970s or 1980s sitcom
I remember a 1970s or 1980s sitcom being discussed here that was so bad it was forgotten. I believe it was either cancelled after only a few episodes or either cancelled before it even aired.
I want to say the title had the name Jimmy in it but I could be wrong. I remember seeing posters of it with a dark haired man in his 20s or 30s as the main star.
It’s driving me crazy and I feel like I imagined it.

Or maybe there was an actor named Jimmy.

Maybe Jimmy Baio? In my mind's eye I see his stupid, cheerful grin as part of a promotional photo for a sitcom, but i never watched it and don't know the name.

Honestly, I can’t remember any more details because I never actually saw the show but just remember it being discussed on here as well as some Facebook groups.
Thank you for your help. Maybe I’ll dream about it and come up with the answer.

Best of the West was not bad. It was actually a great show from a bunch of MTM writers and producers. It ran a full season.

Hey OP, you never did reply to this old thread once I identified the actress for you. Did you forget you asked?

David Brenner was in a sitcom called "Snip" in 1976 that never aired. He played gay and Leslie Ann Warren was his ex-wife. It was reportedly terrible and offensive.

There are all long shots but I thought I'd mention them:
There was the infamous "Turn-On" (1969) which was a kind of "Laugh In" ripoff with TIm Conway, which was so weird and bad that stations switched to other shows in the middle of the first episode.
There was an "Animal House" ripoff called "Co-Ed Fever" in 1979 which was cancelled after one episode. Starred nobody you'd remember. No Jimmys.
"Angels 88" was a reboot of "Charlie's Angels" which was postponed to 1989 because of the writer's strike, then just abandoned, but I think some filming was completed.
The pilot for "The Dictator" with Christopher Lloyd aired in 1988 and critics liked it, but it was abandoned also because of the writer's strike.

Did r8 get it? With Lance Kerwin's death I was just reminded of that show, only ran one season.

OP, possibly you're thinking of the short-lived 1979 sitcom called Makin' It. It starred David Naughton and aired for a whopping nine episodes.

R36 I must have got two different shows confused in my head. I apologize. It’s very hard remembering something from 1979!
