I’d like to buy a friend a towel warmer for their new apartment. There are two kinds - bucket style or rack. Does anyone have a towel warmer? What’s it like? I feel like maybe the bucket keeps the towels hotter but maybe the rack looks better? Thoughts?

Buy an ice machine for their counter. They'll be happier.

A towel warmer????
Are your friend’s towels cold, OP?

It's a waste of money. It is very seldomly used.

Before reading this thread, I had never heard of a bucket towel warmer.
A friend in the SF Bay Area (cold and damp) had a rack towel warmer and I liked it a lot. It dries out the towel between uses and gives you a nice, warm towel.
Also, uses less space.

Oh, dear.

I have one (bucket style) and I love it. I use it every time I shower in the cold months. I completely disagree with the above post saying it’ll be seldom used. It is a great feeling to wrap up in a very warm towel after a shower.

Have you seen the bathroom? I don’t have a spot near the one and only outlet in my bathroom for either type.

Husband brought home a bucket towel warmer and while I like it and use it frequently, I do find it ugly and it takes up too much floor space. The rack would have been preferable.

My sister bought us a bidet toilet seat this Christmas...... A good one though.. We have to install a plug now next to the toilet- so it will cost us $500 to run power next to the toilet.....

We have one.
It's called a radiator.

Stop giving OP shit.
His friend’s towels are cold.
They’re shivering in that bathroom!

OP - apparently you only need a plastic spray bottle filled with VINEGAR and TREE TEA OIL to disinfect cold dirty towels. Keep that in mind. In case you don't get your warmers.

I house sat an architect's home once. He had a unique towel warmer. It was the hot water supply to his shower.
The chromed pipe came out of the wall, made a few back and forths, and went back inside the wall to proceed to the shower head.
You placed your towel over the pipes and it became warmed while you showered.
