The actor Yves Montand was considered an irresistable sex symbol. Marilyn Monroe fell madly in love with him and they had a torrid affair right under the noses of their long suffering spouses. Sexiness doesn't always equate to traditional good looks; it's more about charisma. Janice Joplin, Mick Jagger, Prince. Not good-looking but had charisma which equates to sex appeal. Look at Taylor Swift. She's conventionally beautiful but has the charisma of boiled celery, so not sexy.
