Host Aubrey Plaza. Musical Guest Sam Smith.
Will Kitara Santos make her SNL debut?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 21, 2023 8:57 AM |
I hope the pink heifer wears the sparkly onesie that DL is so fond of.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 21, 2023 9:12 AM |
gags, that fat slob smith again?????
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 21, 2023 9:18 AM |
Mindboggling that Brandon Flynn got naked with Sam Smith.Brandon really messed this up with Sam Smith. Should have gotten Sam to the altar (without a pre-nup) and taken some of his money in a divorce. I have a feeling Brandon is going to end up with some old queen florist or reality star.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 21, 2023 9:26 AM |
Which of you cunts are also trolling Sam in the Youtube comments. Funny!
(and how did YouTube or NBC PR get the date wrong. Oh Dear"
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 21, 2023 9:39 AM |
Repulsive
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 21, 2023 11:01 AM |
R5 Hilarious.
So of those bitches are as vicious as we are.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 21, 2023 11:50 AM |
Yikes…I hope they’re an on-set psychologist for tonight’s show. Between Audrey and Sam they’ll have their hands full.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 21, 2023 11:54 AM |
Endless pitches for Saturday Night Live- The show should have gone off the air after all of the original cast left in 1980.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 21, 2023 12:12 PM |
one does wonder how this tired piece of turd stays on the air. cia friendly?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 21, 2023 4:46 PM |
R10 yes it's a Deep State operation with connections to the Illuminati, Bilderberg, George Soros, and the royal Lizard People.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 21, 2023 4:49 PM |
Can't they ever get some more alternative-music genre guest performer types? More country? Jazz artists? A few artists who are more veteran and iconic for one-off performances, like Smokey Robinson? It just seems more often we get the bargain-basement, dumbed-down, lowest common denominator rinse and repeat guests like Smith, or else Thee Stallion, Manaj, ughh... There's a lot more musical diversity out there they could showcase, instead of Lorne's constant pandering to just one or a couple of groups.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 22, 2023 3:16 AM |
A sports opener? ugh...Not a great start.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 22, 2023 3:30 AM |
THIS was the best Santos sketch they could come up with? Really?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 22, 2023 3:33 AM |
They just can’t ever be original, always some takeoff on existing news media. :(
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 22, 2023 3:34 AM |
They'd never do it, but I'd love to see a Diamond & Silk sketch with Tracy Morgan and guest David Alan Grier as those two heffas.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 22, 2023 3:35 AM |
LOLOL, Okay this skit is now partly redeemed.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 22, 2023 3:36 AM |
Kitara!!...LoL
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 22, 2023 3:36 AM |
Who was playing Strahan?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 22, 2023 3:38 AM |
Love the Gloria Grahame crazy-lady vibe she gives off.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 22, 2023 3:42 AM |
I thought Aubrey would be funnier
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 22, 2023 3:43 AM |
That opening monologue was way too long.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 22, 2023 3:45 AM |
I liked the monologue. It’s an old school SNL conceit that only works with a capable host. Aubrey handled it well and seems genuinely touched to have this moment. Rooting for her.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 22, 2023 3:51 AM |
She’s really good in the skits!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 22, 2023 3:58 AM |
Who wants to bet Sam Smith wears a baggy outfit to hide his blubber?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 22, 2023 4:00 AM |
I loved the game night skit.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 22, 2023 4:01 AM |
Aubrey has been on coke for days.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 22, 2023 4:03 AM |
Material is patchy, but Aubrey is better at sketch comedy than many of the regular cast.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 22, 2023 4:04 AM |
Not tonight’s show but I love this skit. Enjoy
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 22, 2023 4:05 AM |
... and even she cannot salvage this nun sketch.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 22, 2023 4:06 AM |
The more they give Molly Kearney to do, the less I like “them.”
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 22, 2023 4:06 AM |
This week is twisted funny.
Who is this Plaza woman?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 22, 2023 4:10 AM |
I don't want to turn the TV on and wake up my partner.
Is Aubrey actually showing emotion on her face? I got tired of the whole monotone, permanently annoyed facial expression shtick on Parks and Rec. It's hard to imagine her doing sketch comedy.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 22, 2023 4:12 AM |
This Sam Smith sketch is the funniest one of the night.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 22, 2023 4:15 AM |
His entrance and outfit are as of Diana Ross, Cher, and the Ghost Of Christmas Present are each other’s.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 22, 2023 4:16 AM |
Whore flashing her panties. Fat queen hiding his blubber..
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 22, 2023 4:16 AM |
[quote]Is Aubrey actually showing emotion on her face? I got tired of the whole monotone, permanently annoyed facial expression shtick on Parks and Rec. It's hard to imagine her doing sketch comedy.
She's really good at this.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 22, 2023 4:17 AM |
His entrance and outfit are as if Diana Ross, Cher, and the Ghost Of Christmas Present ate each other’s.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 22, 2023 4:17 AM |
No Theo James cameo?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 22, 2023 4:30 AM |
The Whale.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 22, 2023 4:32 AM |
Much to my own surprise, I liked the Sam Smith performance.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 22, 2023 4:37 AM |
And the Shit 30 begins with a high production value waste of time.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 22, 2023 4:40 AM |
R9, well, yes, except for we'd never have had Eddie Murphy, Jan Hooks, Phil Hartman, Dana Carvey, Molly Shannon, Ana Gasteyer (sp?), and Cecily Strong.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 22, 2023 4:43 AM |
R33, I agree; amazing how she's made a career from that.
Her pouty character on White Lotus would have gotten on my nerves had the show gone on longer.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 22, 2023 4:44 AM |
This Sam Smith spectacle is ridiculous. And who is this stupid bitch on the table?..
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 22, 2023 4:46 AM |
WTF?!
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 22, 2023 4:46 AM |
SHARON STONE!! She was the one in the Sam Smith song!
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 22, 2023 4:46 AM |
The most interesting musical guest in YEARS.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 22, 2023 4:48 AM |
Homophobic Skit. Boycott!!
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 22, 2023 4:50 AM |
Sharon Stone. Sad.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 22, 2023 4:58 AM |
That B&W skit was brutal.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 22, 2023 4:59 AM |
Didn't Kate do that black and white skit better then years ago?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 22, 2023 5:01 AM |
The Youtube comments are funny
[quote]I haven't paid attention to anything Sam Smith has done since 2012 or so. When did he start dressing like a pre-teen that just discovered Claire's?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 22, 2023 5:10 AM |
One of the better shows of the season.
Aubrey was really good in everything she was given, except the final black-and-white thing, and that could just be from exhaustion. They put her in almost every sketch.
The Santos opener was meh. Loved The Black Lotus and the Parks & Rec reunion.
The less said about Sam Smith the better. But damn, Sharon Stone continues to look amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 22, 2023 5:19 AM |
Sharon Stone reduced to a walk on skit performer on SNL?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 22, 2023 5:35 AM |
R27 Still the best weight loss solution
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 22, 2023 5:40 AM |
R55, Tom Hanks does it regularly.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 22, 2023 5:48 AM |
1. Plaza was far and away the best host in years.
2. I mostly laugh at Sam Smith and his ridiculous "they" nonsense, but that first performance was damn good. Or at least very interesting.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 22, 2023 8:07 AM |
It’s a sad state of affairs when Jimmy Kimmel features a funnier Santos skit than SNL.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | January 22, 2023 9:18 AM |
R59 = Yeah. They could have done a skit with Kitana doing drag for Matt Gaetz and McCarthy in his congressional office. I knew SNL would screw it up.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | January 22, 2023 9:55 AM |
The major problem remains the writing. In the latest seasons, it’s not only weak but also bizarre.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 22, 2023 12:18 PM |
This episode had more laugh out loud moments than any episode in a while. Aubrey was a great host. Sharon Stone looked amazing!
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 22, 2023 3:06 PM |
The episode was absolute shite but for the Black Lotus and Yang as Santos on Weekend Update. And WTF has happened to that towering mass of blubber, Sam Smith???? He does this ridiculous shit in concert? Plus, I don't need to watch Aubrey Plaza in anything ever again.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 22, 2023 5:11 PM |
FRANCE!!!
by Anonymous | reply 64 | January 22, 2023 8:42 PM |
Never thought I'd see SNL doing a PREP commercial sketch.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | January 22, 2023 8:45 PM |
They should have had Jon Lovitz play George Santos.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | January 22, 2023 9:35 PM |
it's funny. I studied years ago at Groundlings in LA where folks from SNL studied.
You had to be so good to advance to the next level; it got harder, more competitive -- as it should, of course
But then to get out and be on the show and come up with such lame stuff week after week.
Something's missing.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | January 22, 2023 9:46 PM |
Lorne Michaels had Lovitz do Santos on Jimmy Fallon.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | January 22, 2023 9:51 PM |
I realized this past episode that they do not have a strong impressionist anymore (Cecily Strong or even the loathsome McKinnon). They have no one who can do MTG or Pirro. They better find someone fast because a skit filled with men (the sports debacle) shows they need a political female impressionist stat.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | January 22, 2023 11:59 PM |
It’s the writing, r67.
That’s what’s missing.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | January 23, 2023 12:08 AM |
[quote]they need a political female impressionist stat.
Chloe Fineman is pretty good.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | January 23, 2023 12:11 AM |
R71 = Chloe is good at impersonating celebs. Her Jennifer C. is amazing...I'm pretty sure Chloe and Aubrey came out this week too with their onscreen make out session.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | January 23, 2023 12:22 AM |
R72 Aubrey's bisexual
by Anonymous | reply 73 | January 23, 2023 12:30 AM |
I couldn’t understand the actors in the Miss Universe sketch!
by Anonymous | reply 74 | January 23, 2023 12:46 AM |
I wonder if Aubrey is a hot fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | January 23, 2023 12:50 AM |
I feel bad for the property brothers and Tony Hawk for having to be in that sketch R74
by Anonymous | reply 76 | January 23, 2023 1:15 AM |
Definitely the best episode of the year. Keep it up, SNL!
by Anonymous | reply 77 | January 23, 2023 2:03 AM |
The Gay Megan sketch was stupid. Had to be written by Boring Yang.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | January 23, 2023 2:19 AM |
[quote] I wonder if Aubrey is a hot fuck.
Aubrey had an X-rated video leak during the Fappening. She was masturbating frantically in front of a mirror and looked like she definitely knew her way around a clit.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | January 23, 2023 4:13 AM |
I'm still pissed that no videos of male celebs were released during the Fappening.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | January 23, 2023 4:15 AM |
Every gay sketch is nothing but a mash-up of the most tired stereotypes.
Gay clubs, divas, poppers, harnesses, yas queen.
They are no doubt masterminded by Bowen Yang but I would guess they were written by clueless homophobes.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | January 23, 2023 4:16 AM |
You can always tell which hosts are comfortable with gay content based on the number of gay sketches
by Anonymous | reply 82 | January 23, 2023 4:18 AM |
[quote]They are no doubt masterminded by Bowen Yang but I would guess they were written by clueless homophobes.
It's hard to tell the difference.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | January 23, 2023 4:24 AM |
WHO IS THIS FUKKIN HOST????
by Anonymous | reply 84 | January 23, 2023 10:13 AM |
Are the writers still insufferable Harvard grads (and associated schools) douchebags?
by Anonymous | reply 85 | January 23, 2023 10:18 AM |
The show is about as funny as root canal work.
I watched Steve Martin and Martin Short the other day and they are fantastic in Only Murders in the Building, but we're dreadful on SNL.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | January 23, 2023 10:26 AM |
omg fat ass sam smith hiding his blubber under that huge pinK thing. FAIL
by Anonymous | reply 87 | January 23, 2023 11:30 AM |
yOU know theyr desparate when that old hag SHARON STONE is on..
by Anonymous | reply 88 | January 23, 2023 11:33 AM |
WTF is wrong with che, he looks old and bloated and.....his sketchy face.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | January 23, 2023 11:46 AM |
sharon stone negated the piece due to her dour grizzled face.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | January 23, 2023 12:06 PM |
R89, He looks miserable, obviously wants to jump ship.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | January 23, 2023 12:22 PM |
Oh Aubrey...it's a sad day when Kim Kardashian was a better host than you.
And good for you Sam Smith for pulling off not one, but two stunts to get the audience to focus on something other than your blubbery body and hideous face.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | January 23, 2023 12:39 PM |
Lens wore 1/2 of Sam's dress a few years ago. Same optical illusion trick. And she was thinning.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | January 23, 2023 12:43 PM |
er thinner.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | January 23, 2023 12:44 PM |
Che acts like Lorne won't let him go and is phoning it in to piss him off, plus he is writing really mean shit for Jost.

‘SNL’ Postproduction Workers Authorize Strike as Contract Negotiations Stall:

Didn't realize how many lesbians work behind the scenes of SNL
by Anonymous | reply 97 | January 24, 2023 2:49 AM |
R78 The Megan 2.0 sketch was written by Jimmy Fowlie
by Anonymous | reply 98 | January 24, 2023 2:56 AM |
Fowlie would be a better gay actor than Yang.
Move him in next year. His Chloë Sevigny is hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | January 24, 2023 4:24 AM |
Fowlie was hilarious on The Other Two.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | January 24, 2023 4:28 AM |
I can appreciate Sam for his music & voice. But he is trying to go the way of Lady Gaga with the avant garde & theatrics. Just sing & let the back ground do the show. Go to a Cher show- she's the queen of this.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | January 24, 2023 4:36 AM |
Sam Smith is really taking bulking up seriously. Can't wait to see his cutting phase.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | January 24, 2023 4:46 AM |
And Go-Go Boy interupted.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | January 24, 2023 4:47 AM |
R99, does Fowlie do Chloe Sevigny or ar you thinking of Drew Droege?
Fowlie does a hilarious self-absorbed Carrie Bradshaw in some Sex and the City/And Just Like That parodies.
by Anonymous | reply 104 | January 24, 2023 7:48 AM |
R104 = ugh. He is one of "THOSE" gays who thinks he's hilarious. No thank you.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | January 24, 2023 7:57 AM |
Fowlie wears ripped jeans. Girl, please. Grow the fuck up. He also has the generic shirtless pix with different guys. Yawn. Someone should tell your hottie his teeth look fake. Fangs are so yesterday.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | January 24, 2023 8:05 AM |
The two on the right of OP's link pic must have been horrified.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | January 24, 2023 8:09 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 108 | January 24, 2023 9:45 AM |
R104 has a few laughs. Lighten up bitches.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | January 24, 2023 11:41 AM |
I finally got around to watching this. Geez, how could the writers have so spectacularly failed to craft sketches for someone as comically gifted as Aubrey Plaza?
The Miss Universe thing was beyond stupid. What was with all the yelling? And speaking of yelling, Sarah Sherman has one volume setting - LOUD. God, she annoys me.
The only bits that were mildly funny were the Black Lotus and the game night sketch, although that one just suddenly ended. These writers don't know how to wrap up a sketch.
I chuckled mildly when Bowen Yang was George Santos on Weekend Update and said his grandparents were the ones who said to Anne Frank, "Hey, you should be writing this down."
And was that Sharon Stone in that last skit? Why?
Don't get me started on Sam Smith. "They" were atrocious.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | January 24, 2023 3:43 PM |
Check out Jimmy Fowlie on The Other Two as one of the "Instagays" a funny caricature of vapid gay Instagram influencers. The whole show is a riot.

FRAAAAAAAAAAGHELERöWEIöFAFJKFCE!
by Anonymous | reply 113 | January 25, 2023 1:29 AM |
R112 Oh, okay. Now I get it. I didn't watch Miss Universe, so had no idea.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | January 25, 2023 11:59 AM |
I just watched Maneskin on Fallon and am constantly surprised at how much better his musical guests are than the groups on SNL.
by Anonymous | reply 115 | January 27, 2023 7:38 AM |
Musical guests on SNL have been the worst lately. Especially the lame-ass rappers who lip-synch. I'm looking at you, Lizzo.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | January 27, 2023 4:55 PM |
Lizzo is overrated.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | January 29, 2023 2:59 AM |
