Based on the videos posted by OP and R44, I’m beginning to think 18-year-old Colin was willing to do anything for a bit of attention. ANYTHING.

He's had an unusual career arc. After the modeling and chorus line work, he hit it big as a young star,. but he became notorious mostly for his print interviews, because he was supposedly always hungover (by his own admission), foul-mouthed, and incredibly honest. Interviewers found his candor about how fucked-up he was refreshing, but audiences did not take to him--despite his talent and his beauty, he had trouble finding the right roles because Hollywood wanted to make him a leading man instead of a character actor.

He stopped being so fucked up all the time after he fathered the special needs baby about the same time his sex tape was released--those two things seemed to change then. Since then he has apparently mostly stayed sober, kept a low profile in the gossip columns and has been devoted to his family, and has done quietly good character work in his films.

My sense is he had too much too quickly and couldn't handle it originally; but he's overall a good person and figured out how to be more of an adult. And he's a fine actor. He's like an Irish RDJ, but he didn't ruin his face and skin by drinking as much as RDJ did.

I have always enjoyed and appreciated that Colin has looked great at all his ages. For an irishman, he isn't aging horribly, either. It was good that he dropped the chunk during the pandemic.
