It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that this year’s croquembouche was a towering masterpiece! My pâte à choux puffs were perfection and the whole affair was a work of art!
Did anyone else make this French classic this year?

Sigh...

If anyone had a Croquembouche...I'd expect it to be Greg
and maybe Marie Osmond
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 9, 2023 10:48 PM |
Le sigh
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 9, 2023 10:49 PM |
Is it stuffed with prunes?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 9, 2023 10:55 PM |
So needy
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 9, 2023 10:56 PM |
Puhleeeze.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 9, 2023 11:00 PM |
Greg's recipes give me diarrhea.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 9, 2023 11:01 PM |
It’s becoming more obvious with each post that Greg is just another DeFacto incarnation. Blast it.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 9, 2023 11:05 PM |
R8, please be kind.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 9, 2023 11:07 PM |
Greg, you are so completely boring. Please go away.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 9, 2023 11:08 PM |
That’s right, R9–I am DeFacto. That was established long ago.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 9, 2023 11:08 PM |
Greg, you are so completely boring. Please go away.
I don’t think I will.
But I’ll try to be more exciting!

Croquembouche is one of the most wonderful desserts in the world. It combines three complementary favorite flavors and textures: pate a choux, creme patissiere, and caramel.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 10, 2023 12:44 AM |
You know what that looks like R15? An Alien egg nest.

Greg's version combines prunes, sardines, and peanut butter.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 10, 2023 4:06 AM |
Surely you got a pic or two of this towering masterpiece?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 10, 2023 4:09 AM |
I love Jamie of Jamie and Julia. Yeah, sometimes his meltdowns are a bit over-the-top and he's a bit goofy.
But I find him sexy as fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 10, 2023 4:20 AM |
Sadly, R18, I didn't get the opportunity to take a picture of the croquembouche. I must admit that I became quite aroused at the sight of it, glistening under the fluorescent lights in my kitchen. Please excuse me if I'm divulging too much information, but I dropped my trousers and pleasured myself in a way I hadn't expected whilst preparing the dessert! Less calories this way, I suppose! All in all, it was well enjoyed and I'm sure it tasted as delectable as it looked and felt.

Go away, GermanGayGuy2
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 10, 2023 4:46 AM |
You have no skeleton, OP. I don't think I have to explain this.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 10, 2023 5:10 AM |
Dustin is GermanGayGuy right?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 10, 2023 6:29 AM |
Greg, did you use a form?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 10, 2023 6:39 AM |
I’d rather eat sugar free haribos. In large quantities.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 10, 2023 8:32 AM |
Greg, did you use a form?
No, R24 - totally free-balled it.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 10, 2023 12:02 PM |
I’m not surprised that there’s one idiot out here who is looking to post something juvenile, but the fact that there are six others who give him a ww? How the DL has fallen.
Greg's version combines prunes, sardines, and peanut butter.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 10, 2023 12:07 PM |
Clearly R20 was not me.
Less calories this way, I suppose!
Everyone knows I would NEVER say “less calories.”
And do you know why I would never say “less calories?” Because I am not stupid.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 10, 2023 12:10 PM |
You have no skeleton, OP. I don't think I have to explain this.
What makes you say that, R22?
How do you know what I have and don’t have?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 10, 2023 12:16 PM |
Yes, of course, R18. I might use it as next year’s Christmas card.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 10, 2023 12:18 PM |
Dustin is GermanGayGuy right?
WTF? Why would you say that?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 11, 2023 12:21 AM |
Sadly, Greg passed away today after mounting his dried out, stale Christmas Croquembouche.
Remember boys, using stale pastries as sex toys can lead to an undignified death.
Mourners are asked to send prunes and cod to their local food banks, in lieu of flowers.

R32, Resurrexi, sicut dixi!
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 17, 2023 2:56 PM |
Bravo R32!
It's dixi[bold]t[/bold] you whore R33.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 17, 2023 3:01 PM |
That would be: "I rose as he said" rather than "I rose as I said."
You may be mistaking what I wrote for the liturgical, "Resurrexit sicut dixit" which means, "He has risen as he said."
Now who's the whore, ya dumb whore.

Please die in one of your own grease fires R35.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 17, 2023 4:06 PM |
R33 Not speaking Latin myself, I am nevertheless surprised to see commas in your quote. Thought punctuation was a relatively recent innovation.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 17, 2023 4:08 PM |
R37, you are correct. But it is used in Ecclesiastical Latin.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 17, 2023 4:17 PM |
Please die in one of your own grease fires R38.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 17, 2023 4:22 PM |
Thank you, R40, but I thought you didn't want us to talk about your love of my...croquembouches?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 17, 2023 4:50 PM |

Good one!
2023 - The DL Year of Greg!
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 17, 2023 5:25 PM |
Greg is 18th-/19th-century French bishop Charles Talleyrand and no one can convince me otherwise.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 17, 2023 5:43 PM |
Thank you, R44, but Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord was excommunicated by Pope Pius VI in 1791!
It's not the time travel that gets me, but rather the excommunication.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 17, 2023 5:58 PM |
Fair enough.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 17, 2023 8:28 PM |
What about Bishop Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord convinced you that he and I are one and the same?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 17, 2023 8:32 PM |
Your croquembouches.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 18, 2023 7:16 PM |
R47- Your casual deployment of ecclesiastical Latin while being rather atheistic overall, and your persistent emphasis on the importance of tasteful luxury.
And though Talleyrand was a whore, he was a discreet one. This latter point is not a commentary on your recreations or character, though, I assure you.

Thank you, R49. Though [bold] I [/bold] assure [bold] you [/bold] that I am not an atheist. Furthermore, good taste and luxury are not one and the same. I have no comment on Talleyrand being a whore, discreet or otherwise.
