I remember those and also I’m remembering records printed on the back of a cereal box that you could cut out and play. The sound quality was abysmal in both cases.

I remember a great one in a Bloom County book.
It contained two songs supposedly by a band made up of characters from the comic strip.
All I recall was one was called: You Make Me Sick But I Love You

Bob, a rock magazine had several of them free with their issues. It's a novelty with inferior quality, but it's no worse than most cassette releases.

I got a postcard from my grandmother in Hawaii that had "Little Grass Shack" embedded on it. I literally played the grooves off of it 🙂
