GMA's Robin Roberts to marry girlfriedn of 18 years
GMA host Robin Roberts, 62, announced she will be marrying Amber Laign, 48, her girlfriend of 18 years. No date has been set, but she said it will be sometime this year.
“I’m saying yes to marriage. We’re getting married this year,” the news anchor told author and motivational speaker Gabrielle Bernstein after admitting she was “hesitating” to share the news because she had not “said it out loud yet.”
The couple started a relationship in July, 2005 but Roberts 'did not come out as a lesbian' until the end of 2013. She fooled no one, as it was long rumored she was gay.

I'm really happy for her. When she was going though cancer treatment, it came out in the news that her sister Sally Ann Roberts who is a New Orleans news anchor and institution was taking time off from work to be her bone marrow donor. I sent Sally Ann Roberts a message through their local news website saying how I'd grown up watchful her on tv, and I'd always admired both of them and that I was so happy Robin was getting treatment and she was able to help her sister and how courageous they both were and how much I loved hearing this.
Didn't hear anything and had long forgotten about it then 2 months later I got an email from Sally Ann thanking me, saying it was really Robin's courage, and telling me she really appreciated the outpouring of love she was getting.
Folks like them, who are on your TV every morning, trying to smile through sometimes very difficult days and then having to be serious and deliver grim news as well...they just start to feel like part of your family after a while. And I've always been especially fond of both of them.
I'm very happy for Robin.

Don't really watch GMA, unless it's on when I wake up, but I've come to like Robin a lot. Good for them, I hope they're very happy.
