Chris Pine

Is this the Aspergers?

Most people with autism and Asperger's don't become actors. Pine is just a goofy himbo who enjoys drygys. Matt Boomer, another one DL accuses of autism is just very guarded about his image and acts like an automation intentionally.

MOST

but some do. Anthony Hopkins has Asperger’s and two Oscars.

^If he had smelled his finger, I would be no more good!

by Anonymousreply 5January 4, 2023 1:27 PM

Someone needs to fill Pine in on the fact that the Miami Vice dress style died a long time ago.

We always have these armchair psychologists making a diagnosis from a 30 second clip. The in diagnosis a few years back was that everyone not apparently on the beam had borderline personality disorder. Now it is spectrum. The people saying it have no idea what they are talking about. Pine looks fine just a bit uncomfortable and maybe flustered by Hopkins far superior eloquence.

by Anonymousreply 7January 4, 2023 1:31 PM

No. That's someone who doesn't want to be there answering dumb questions.

by Anonymousreply 8January 4, 2023 1:31 PM

I enjoy drygys too!

by Anonymousreply 9January 4, 2023 1:40 PM

I don't know how you watch that video and think Pine is the crazy one. Hugh Grant looked high as fuck.

Hopkins is an outlier. Many autistic people lack the desire to socialize and be in the limelight that being a celebrity entails and many don't care about their looks or following orders. They'd get very bored and stop trying early on. You need to be severely self-conscious and histrionic to crave movie stardom. Many autistic people are drawn to music, sports, writing, art and directing as there's some repetition and stability and more creative control. But being an actor or model requires a lot more social skills and ability to connect to the lowest common denominator. You have to be micromanaged too especially in regards to your attitude, looks and everything you do.

There’s some actors on this list…

I would be high AF too, if I had to promote a fucking Dungeons and Dragons movie.

I agree. In fact I would venture probably 99% on those seeking careers in Hollywood are extroverted neurotypicals with a good deal in the histrionic category of personality disorders.

But those are actors and we are talking about stars. Stars have to have an extra special quality to stand out from the overweening masses trying to break into Hollywood. In addition to the genetic lottery of combined good looks and acting ability. I can very easily see how an Aspergian would stand out at an audition with twenty other people that look like him or her.

I also agree that your generic Aspergian would be unlikely to pursue a career in show business, However that ignores other variables. Chris Pine's father was a television star. Chris Evans was pushed into acting by a stereotypical stage mother. Keanu Reeves grew up with industry stepparents. Henry Cavill was scouted out of high school.

Here's something else: based on a 10-second glance of their biography, what do Chris Pine, Chris Evans, Henry Cavill and Keanu Reeves's personal lives have in common?

They're all pole smoking cock lovers?

by Anonymousreply 15January 4, 2023 6:43 PM

Chris Pine is so gay he can tell the flavor of a popsicle just by sitting on it.

by Anonymousreply 16January 4, 2023 6:43 PM

Alcoholic

by Anonymousreply 17January 4, 2023 6:59 PM

R14 Okay I see your point. Especially given all these men have pretty white guy privilege and industry connections which would cause others to overlook any quirks or poor social skills. They didn't have to particularly work hard, be cutthroat, be highly intelligent, be good social networkers or be kept sugar babies. I really don't think Keanu is autistic though, in interviews he's very outgoing, polite, charming, effortlessly cool and attractive and most female interviewers are creaming over him. I know autistic people need role models but there's way better examples especially in science, medicine, academia and fields that actually matter.

by Anonymousreply 18January 4, 2023 9:55 PM

Maybe ADHD because he's hyper. But not seeing autism here. He's very confident and collected and has control. People assumed he's an depressed just because he can sit alone and enjoy his own company and doesn't smile for no reason. What an American concept.

I love Chris Pine and his gorgeous blue eyes.

by Anonymousreply 20January 5, 2023 12:09 AM

R19, I agree !

by Anonymousreply 21January 5, 2023 12:25 AM

R7 Hopkins?

by Anonymousreply 22January 5, 2023 12:28 AM

Is Hopkins really aspergers though? I honestly don’t see any obvious symptoms. Ditto for Musk.

by Anonymousreply 23January 6, 2023 2:11 AM

Chris Pine is definitely gay. I was surprised to hear his father is Robert Pine from Chips.

Those press junkets are lethal, Grant is "disassociating" simply because he's bored shitless as he's heard the exact same inane questions/answers countless times already, and he's too old at this point to care about appearances.

by Anonymousreply 25June 16, 2023 5:22 AM

If you scroll down R12's article it lists Leonardo da Vinci, Mozart, and Jane Austen as being on the autism spectrum.

by Anonymousreply 26June 16, 2023 5:53 AM

Has he come out yet?
