Linda Evans Was Better Looking In Her 40s Than In Her 20s

Who else looked better as they got older?

Peter Finch looked rather dorky in the 1940s.

He became distinguished-looking later.

I can't think of anyone.

Having a woman in the first post is somewhat of a turn-off.

by Anonymousreply 2December 27, 2022 11:23 PM

In the early 2000s she was marketing a skin care mask that uses small electrical zaps to tighten the skin. She appeared at my local mall at the makeup counter to sell that stuff.

I don't have a problem with it. A girl needs to make a buck. But damn, surely she didn't need to do that with those Dynasty residual checks.

I can look at pictures of Linda from the 60s and the 80s side by side and not see the same person. Maybe I can’t see past her iconic Dynasty hairstyle, but the earlier Linda looks like she could be anybody.

The OP asked—
Who else looked better as they got older?

by Anonymousreply 5December 27, 2022 11:37 PM

Yes she grew into her face with time.

Oh my, I see that now r6. I thought it was OK to make commentary on the OP’s initial observation. If it’s not good form to not answer directly the question posed I’ll try to be mindful in future and apologize for getting off track.

So to play by the rules I will say McDreamy, AKA Patrick Dempsey, who was far and away better looking in his 40s than in his 20s.

by Anonymousreply 8December 27, 2022 11:44 PM

Michael Keaton. He never did anything for me, but now he’s a hot daddy.

by Anonymousreply 9December 27, 2022 11:51 PM

R5 Ok, and?

by Anonymousreply 10December 27, 2022 11:53 PM

R8 Wtf are you rambling about? You apologized at DL? Grow a pair.

by Anonymousreply 11December 27, 2022 11:54 PM

She looked like totally different people between Bachelor Father and her Dynasty days. It wasn’t only the hair. I don’t know if she had some plastic surgery before Dynasty, but the difference is unreal.

I actually think Brad Pitt looks hotter now.

Deidre Hall, who lost out to Linda Evans for the Krystle Carrington role, in her 20s:

R17 Boob lift.

Two that I can think of who grew into their looks were Jimmy Stewart and William Holden.

by Anonymousreply 19December 28, 2022 1:41 AM

Sean Connery

by Anonymousreply 20December 28, 2022 1:42 AM

In OP’s picture, Linda looks just like Lady Penelope in Thunderbirds.

by Anonymousreply 21December 28, 2022 2:04 AM

Paul Newman was hotter as a silver fox

I though Linda was very beautiful in her Malibu Barbie days.

According to this she had her nose done while she was on Big Valley.
At first, attempts were made to give Evans something of a period look, with long dresses and wavy hair, little makeup and an earthier look in general. Eventually, this was practically abandoned and Evans wore sleek, tailored riding gauchos, trim, satin blouses (ones designed by Nolan Miller and which would be virtually duplicated years later on Dynasty where he was the chief designer), black false eyelashes and her hair was a luminous, platinum, free-flowing mane. She basically became Barbie Goes West and looked unbelievably stunning.
[bold]This change (including a little nose work) was also the result of the influence of her husband, John Derek, who she married in 1968. He was known, then and later, for making over his women into what he considered the ideal.[/bold] He also didn’t want her to work and she acquiesced rather willingly, cutting back her appearances on the series in the last year and a half. Their marriage would last until 1974 when he pushed her aside for a new muse, Bo Derek, though they would remain friends until his death.

Streisand - looked much better in the 1990s, when she was in her 50s than in her 20s and 30s.

Liz Montgomery - also looked much better in the 1980s (in her 50s) than she did in her 30s (on 'Bewitched').

by Anonymousreply 26December 28, 2022 5:22 AM

R16, wasn’t Deidre already on Days?

by Anonymousreply 27December 28, 2022 5:25 AM

Michael Keaton has really become a smoking hot daddy!

by Anonymousreply 28December 28, 2022 5:26 AM

Kim Cattral

by Anonymousreply 29December 28, 2022 5:27 AM

She had extensive plastic surgery long before Dynasty

I think Bill Pullman looks better now than he did 20-30 years ago. He's basically the only reason I watch that "The Sinner" show.
