Actor Gene Raymond -- Gay?
He was married to Jeanette MacDonald for many years. This sentence on IMDB sounds like something a DLer would've written:
[quote]Raymond and Jeanette MacDonald were married on June 16, 1937. Nine days later, Mary Pickford and Charles 'Buddy' Rogers were wed. That night, both couples left aboard the liner SS Lurline to honeymoon in Honolulu, Hawaii. Their respective cabins were adjacent, and Raymond and Rogers seem to have already been quite well-acquainted.
And then there's this:
[quote]In Bernard F. Dick's biography of Loretta Young, titled "Hollywood Madonna", Raymond is described as bisexual. An excerpt of the biography states, "Raymond was probably one of the leading men Loretta developed a crush on, not knowing at the time that he was bisexual, more homosexually than heterosexually inclined.... Raymond's lover at the time was Mary Pickford's husband, Buddy Rogers....But at the time 'Zoo in Budapest' was filmed, Raymond had not met MacDonald, and only a few kindred spirits knew his sexual preferences".

It's probably partly because of the deep tan. That tough, tanned skin doesn't absorb the light too well.

Gene Raymond rented an apartment for his boy Robert Stack in the early 1940's and got Stack started in movies.
They were as popular as a couple at parties and Gene was with Jeanette. Different parties of course.

What was up with MacDonald's sex life anyway? She married a gay man and seemed to lack the sexual energy of a straight woman, the only time she was even vaguely sexy on screen was when she was with Chevalier or Gable, and some of their sexual charisma reflected onto her.
Yes, there are rumors that she carried on a secret affair with Nelson "Singing Capon" Eddy, which I dismiss as the invention of their dotty old fans. Was she a lesbian who was extremely discrete, or unawakened? Was she a straight men who just didn't like men much? Asexual? What?

A straight WOMAN who didn't like men much!
The world is full of heterosexuals who dislike and distrust the opposite sex, they are legion and they are unhappy.
