She ended up marrying Brenda Russell's husband.

Cheryl was really able to make a name for herself, you gotta give her some credit. Season two of "Charlies Angels" could have gone either way, replacing Farrah Fawcett-Majors was nearly impossible. She was a huge recording artist in Japan, they used her music as the closing theme of "Charlies Angels". Her first album was pretty good + Brenda and Brian Russell were really talented. She was one of the few TV stars that were able have a top 40 hit. Most were men and "teen idols". Cassidy, Bobby Sherman, David Soul, Travolta, even Bruce Willis. The fact that she did all those 70's variety shows also built her career. They wanted her to play Vegas, but she wouldn't pick-up and move her family to the desert. She actually started in music and the voice of Melody in "Josie & the Pussycats"

She terrorised the neighbours up on Nana’s cul-de-sac in the Bird Streets. Quite nasty, apparently.

You turn me around. You turn me around. It makes the little kid in me turn older. You turn me around. Just the sight of you reminds me good can be found. You turn me around you turn me around.
You turn me around. Around you turn me around.

Cruise ship level of singing. On one of those cruise lines that use second hand tonnage in Europe.

R6, You turn me around was recorded previously by The Supremes on their 1975 self titled album. Mary sings lead.

R10 I’m anti-Diana Ross and The Supremes

My niece bought this record when it came out, liked Cheryl Ladd, and turned out to be a lesbian.

What’s the UK cruise line that has the booze cruises to the Canaries? Cheryl would fit right in as a lounge singer, covering seventies hits by more talented songstresses.

Dionne Warwick got Cheryl's sloppy seconds.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | December 18, 2022 2:33 AM |
I really can't say anything about her right now as we're still in litigation, but it involves...a fondue pot.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | December 18, 2022 2:37 AM |
This was Midnight Special was such a big deal - You can see Brian and Brenda Russel singing back-up for Cheryl
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 18, 2022 7:22 AM |
Still looks good. Good course of action, whatever it was. Hmmm…
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 18, 2022 7:25 AM |
R17. That was actually Don Kirshner's Rock Concert - This clip is Midnight Special

She was surprisingly girlish for her age on Dancing with the Stars
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 18, 2022 9:28 AM |
Wow, that is a horrible song, and Cheryl can't sing for shit.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 18, 2022 9:34 AM |
I used to sing think it over at school in the 1st grade as kris munroe was a fave.

Thomson Cruises, or Celestyal Cruises. One of those low-rent Euro lines.
She’d do well. Maybe even get a cabin to herself.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | December 18, 2022 6:24 PM |
^^This thread is about Cheryl Ladd’s debut album on Capitol Records, fools!
by Anonymous | reply 27 | December 18, 2022 8:10 PM |
^^^^And those low-rent cruise lines would be ideal for her to perform on R27. Low-rent, low-talent.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | December 18, 2022 9:07 PM |
R28 being on a top 5 rated tv show and having a record contract on THE Capitol Records in 1978 was not low rent, you amoeba!
by Anonymous | reply 29 | December 18, 2022 9:21 PM |
But her level of singing skills are suited to those budget cruise lines r29. 😛🤪🤭
by Anonymous | reply 30 | December 18, 2022 9:31 PM |
She made an execrable Christmas movie with Barry Bostwick about 15 years ago and shoehorned a couple of songs into it rather gratuitously, perhaps as a condition of taking the role.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | December 18, 2022 9:38 PM |
If Cheryl is the lead, it’s already assumed that it’s execrable r31. Her buddy Jaclyn as well.

I am searching for a hook in "Think It Over" and can't find it.
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo?
It's a miracle that plodding, meandering mess made it to #34.

Brenda Russell’s version of THINK IT OVER is better.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | December 19, 2022 10:20 AM |
No it’s not r36. I love BR but her version is sucky
by Anonymous | reply 37 | December 19, 2022 1:09 PM |
Stop hating Cheryl Ladd.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | December 19, 2022 1:09 PM |
It’s not the best song, r37, but I think Brenda interpreted it better than Cheryl. Something about Cheryl’s singing that reminds me of Jessica Simpson, like throat singing or something like that.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | December 19, 2022 2:43 PM |
Based on the singing at R15 (I Know I'll Never Love This Way Again), she sounds awful.
She was very pretty on Charlie's Angels, though, and had a very good body. I'm guessing that's why Brenda Russell's husband left Brenda Russell for Cheryl.

Cheryl Ladd Think It Over takes me back to being a 6 yr old gayling. I loved Charlie’s Angels and listening to this record. I remember being in a dept store and seeing the stunning album cover. I told my mom and dad “I’ve got to have this”. Took it home and listened to it constantly.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | December 20, 2022 1:12 PM |
Who knew Cheryl Ladd had such a young, gay following back in the '70s.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | December 20, 2022 3:26 PM |
I agree with OP. Cheryl Ladd is strikingly beautiful, elegant, smart, witty, and extraordinarily talented! Her first album made everyone sit up - no stand up !! and dance and cheer - she wasn't no bimbo - but a major star!!!!!!!! I LOVE Cheryl!!!
by Anonymous | reply 45 | December 20, 2022 4:12 PM |
R45 Hi Cheryl.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | December 20, 2022 4:35 PM |
Eat shit r45. She had zero talent, unless you consider the ability fire a gun in a bikini talent.
I cheered when she got tossed off the balcony in Poison Ivy.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | December 20, 2022 5:20 PM |
Cheryl Ladd thinks she's great -- she's just cold boogers on a paper plate.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | December 20, 2022 6:33 PM |
But when straight boys saw her, they’d masturbate 🤭
by Anonymous | reply 49 | December 20, 2022 6:44 PM |
I didn't have to masturbate. Know why? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind... lalala. The essence: I wrote some great Kris-centric storylines for her.

When Kate Jackson hosted SNL, they did a sketch where then-network president Fred Silverman was revealed to be a double agent determined to destroy NBC. He assigned Charlie's Angels to various destructive tasks.
Kate Jackson was to host SNL, Jaclyn Smith was to shoot Johnny Carson, and Cheryl Ladd was to go on NBC and sing.

Saw her on B'way 23 years ago in 'Annie Get Your Gun' - she was fantastic. I wondered why she never did B'way musicals before, and why she hasn't since. She could've easily rotated into 'Chicago', or done 'Hello Dolly' when Midler left. She was great.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 2, 2023 12:35 AM |
Not sure about Chicago, but she’d make a terrific Horace in Dolly.
