Film is a visual medium. Cum is something people want to see. When porn sprang into the mainstream in the 70s, producers wanted to depict the entire act of sex, including climax. Women could fake an orgasm, but the cumshot was proof the male’s sexual completion. And it was hot and aided the masturbatory activities of those watching. It’s only as degrading as one decides to make it (notwithstanding purposeful dom/sub plots).
