Are music videos and movies photoshopped too?

I know magazine photoshoots and Instagram are photoshopped, but what about movies and music videos? Celebrities never look as good in real life as they do in their projects. I didn't know you could photoshop a moving image. Is it just good lighting, face tape and highlighter? How do they look so good?

"Digital Photoshop" also is called "beauty work." It's how Pee-wee Herman looked so young in the recent sequel. It's also been used to give Bruce Willis a better hairline.

Once you start seeing it, you can't stop. I imagine Jennifer Aniston has it in her contract.

Here's an interesting article about how it works.

Altered? Heavens, non! We're certain Miss Julia Roberts looks exactly like this at all moments in her personal timeline!

It was always true, long before digital tools were available.

It's "Hollywood magic," the product of a lot of people with technical expertise coming together to create images and sound. Makeup. Lighting. Angles. Contexts. Colors. Film treatments. Lots and lots go into it. And a lot of people who are striking on camera are either plainer looking or stranger looking in person. "The camera loves you" is told to people who have features that simply photograph well.

R1 With that technology, would a 60-year-old be able to play a teenager, or would it still look ridiculous? Actors wouldn't have to worry about aging out of certain roles.

Everyone looks crap without makeup and good lighting.

Watch "Aline," the fictionalized biopic of Celine Dion. The writer/director/star — who's in her 50s — plays Celine at all ages, INCLUDING AS A TODDLER. It's wildly freaky.

Yeah, that's it.
