Name TV shows or performances that weren't nominated for Emmys but you feel should have been
I'll start with Chuck Connors for "The Rifleman." He really played a wide range of emotions on that show and delivered a performance I'm sure many wouldn't have expected from an ex-baseball player. (Just check out the episode "The Vision" in which Mark, his only son, had a near-death experience for just one example.) Looking back, it's surprising to find that Connors was never even nominated for his work (though he would receive a nomination years later for "Roots").
What would be your choices?

The Terror. All the cast but especially Jared Harris

I always thought that Jonathan Harris and Billy Mumy should have been nominated for their work on Lost In Space. No, it wasn't a great show, but they really did a great job, acting-wise. Mumy, in particular, was always several cuts above most child actors -actually acting rather than just being cute.

Michael McKean for "Better Call Saul."

R2, I agree on both Harris and Mumy.
Also with OP on Chuck Connors.
There was an episode titled The Raid in which Michael Forest (6'3" 215 lbs) and some Indians kidnap Mark so he can replace Forest's character's son who died.
Lucas is severely injured in the kidnapping but he powers through and when he saves Mark he nearly kills his kidnappers.
All those heightened episodes are like Dad porn to this fatherless boy. I loved watching the Rifleman.
Ann B. Davis was never nominated for playing Alice on The Brady Bunch.
In Daytime, Beverlee McKinsey and Mary Kay Adams were never nominated for their work on Guiding Light.
Scenes like this should have won gold for both of them IMHO.

She really wasn't brilliant on that. It's a shame she hasn't stayed in the spotlight doing tv and movies.
She's like Jan Hooks - wholly underrated.

Elizabeth Olson gave a heartbreaking performance in WandaVision. Hopefully one day we'll get to a point where genre shows aren't dismissed out of hand.

I thought Chuck mentioned that he won a Golden Globe for his performance in The Rifleman. I agree, he was great in that show. Another standout was The Face of Yesterday, where Lucas has a flood of emotions after he encounters the son of a man he had to kill in the war. Scene starts at 10:30.

Matthew Goode should have won an Emmy for his performance as Paramount Pictures Production VP Robert Evans in The Offer, Paramount Plus' 2022 look at the making of The Godfather. He was so good.

I would like to nominate Jack O'Connell to be deep in my mouth. But he was excellent in The North Water, too.

'Oz' wins this thread. So many well-deserved nominations were never given. I assume because of the homosexual content and violence, but 'The Sopranos' has an equal amount of violence.

Garret Dillahunt for Raising Hope.
(Martha received a well earned nomination for the first season but didn’t win.)

D'Arcy Carden should have been nominated for an Emmy in 2018 for the second season of The Good Place which was her best work. She was snubbed and the overrated hack Leslie Jones got nominated for her shitty work on SNL.

Kathy Kinney as Miss Goddard the librarian on Newhart. Not a sustained character but for "Guest Actress" maybe?
Wholeheartedly agree with the above about "Oz" -- brutal material delivered by pros who were fully invested in their roles.
Kevin Dunn AND Gary Cole for "Veep."
One of the greatest performances was Leo McKern as Rumpole of the Bailey, though I'm not sure it was shown in the States. Maybe on PBS' Mystery.

Zoe Kazan should have been nominated for The Plot Against America. She was really good in the scene where her character Bess confronts her sister Evelyn and says that she will never forgive her for the things she did. Very heartbreaking scene.
