Are they all related?

by Anonymousreply 1November 30, 2022 11:31 PM

I thought Dragon was excellent.

I don’t think this is good casting

by Anonymousreply 4November 30, 2022 11:44 PM

Let the “He looks NOTHING like Bruce!!!” threads commence!

by Anonymousreply 5November 30, 2022 11:46 PM

He looks NOTHING like Bruce.

by Anonymousreply 6November 30, 2022 11:48 PM

Bruce was a hot piece of ass!

by Anonymousreply 7November 30, 2022 11:50 PM

Ang Lee is a great director, IMO, so I’d watch this - based on that alone, because I don’t really care about Bruce Lee. Yeah, I know how awesome he was. How old is this son?

by Anonymousreply 8November 30, 2022 11:55 PM

It's a good thing I read op's post twice; I was about to ask how Bruce Lee had a 32-year-old son!

by Anonymousreply 9December 1, 2022 12:01 AM

This is exciting..I hate how he was portrayed in OATIH

by Anonymousreply 10December 1, 2022 12:16 AM

If you had to read it twice to understand its meaning, it was poorly written.

R2 I also liked Dragon:The Bruce Lee Story. Didn't hurt that Jason was hot as hell in that movie.

Nepotism is really getting out of control now. Tim Allen just cast his own daughter to play his daughter in The Santa Clauses.

by Anonymousreply 13December 1, 2022 2:55 AM

Dragon flopped critically and commercially. Most say it’s a terrible movie.

by Anonymousreply 14December 1, 2022 2:57 AM

It did not flop critically, and I loved it.

by Anonymousreply 15December 1, 2022 2:58 AM

R14 yes it did. Those reviews you see on RT now are mostly recent updates or new reviews. Not the reviews from when it was released.

Many said it was highly inaccurate (it was) and a love story full of fiction.

Even many of the good reviews mention how inaccurate the movie is

"Dragon" introduced us to one of the most beautiful men in Hollywood. God damn he was so fucking beautiful. Nice penis too.

R16, you're a fuc$ing idiot. Dragon made ~$64 million domestically with a budget of ~$16 million. It earned positive reviews. Most importantly, many of us remember when it opened. I watched it in a packed theatre.

From Wikipedia: Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story received generally positive reviews, with critics typically finding it entertaining despite criticisms of its veneration of Bruce. Jason was widely praised for his performance. The film was a commercial success and its revenue exceeded box office averages for biographical cinema, which was attributed to its romantic themes and its appeal to people outside the traditional kung fu film audience. A video game adaptation of the same name was released the following year. Dragon is dedicated to Brandon, who died several weeks before its release

The son is fug.

by Anonymousreply 18December 1, 2022 4:05 AM

He's casting his own child to star. What could go wrong?

by Anonymousreply 19December 1, 2022 4:14 AM

Ang Lee has never done a bad job.

by Anonymousreply 20December 1, 2022 4:59 AM

[Quote] Most say it’s a terrible movie.

I think that’s the case with most movies directed by Rob Cohen.

Jesus...that's rough timing.

[Quote] Ang Lee has never done a bad job.

Didn't he get shit for the Hulk movie?

by Anonymousreply 21December 1, 2022 5:25 AM

Sum Ting Wong.

by Anonymousreply 22December 1, 2022 6:35 AM

Meritocratic casting? Or Nepotism?

I mean it takes courage to cast your son as such a legendary character

The fallout could be tremendous

I'm available to play Bruce Lee's daughter.

by Anonymousreply 25December 1, 2022 1:13 PM

I'm sure he was chosen among dozens who auditioned for the role.

by Anonymousreply 26December 1, 2022 1:33 PM

R25 we've had sufficient, Emma.
