So I read the account in the Washington Post, which stated that the woman asked her a series of questions about where she's from, the woman responded that her family had been in the UK the 50s and she was born in the UK. At this point, Hussey says something like "your family is from the Caribbean, I knew it, to which this woman responded that she was actually from Africa, which resulted in another long string of queries about her family.

Not to make excuses, but it seemed as if the old lady was trying to engage this woman, understand more about her (in general), but her inquiries were *perceived* as an interrogation and this woman (as one does these days) took her grievance public.
