"Evil" and lack of empathy both derive from the same source - lack of imagination.

People who lack imagination are unable to envision the beginning, middle, and end to people, situations, or a course of action. Without ever actually having experienced something, they simply cannot imagine, thus comprehend, why things are the way they are and how things may turn out based on their actions.

People like Rob Portman are a prime example. He opposed most gay legislation until he experienced how terrible life could be for someone he cared about - his son. Then, all of a sudden, he's pro-gay. Dear Rob, your entitled son barely scratched the surface on how bad life was made by people like YOU.

They do or say something that hurts a friend or a loved one, and tend to blame his/her actions on them. They truly believe that the fault is in the person receiving the hurt because they reacted poorly, were rude or were oversensitive.

The political right brainwashed their followers into blaming others for their own misfortune. As long the right wing provides enough scapegoats, and exploits made up non-issues for their followers to hate, these followers forget all about the real issues the right wing fucks up on a daily basis.

None of them takes actual responsibility anymore. Everything is someone else's fault. Their lives would be perfect if it weren't for those damn illegal aliens taking away all the good jobs, or Drag Queens polluting precious children's minds with CRT, Hunter Biden's laptop, or Woke Cancel Culture, etc.

These days, even stupid Q-Anon conspiracy theories are a legit reason for some crazy people to take action and harass, harm and kill people.

I wish the term " conservative" would be eliminated when it comes to modern politics, because it refers to a philosophy that no longer exists. There are Democrats and Trumpers, patriots and MAGAts, Americans and traitors.
