What other cartoon has lasted this long? It's simply iconic.
The Simpsons: Greatest animated show of all time?

Probably, yes.
Next I'd sayThe Flintstones.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 22, 2022 10:42 PM |
I'd agree, OP. I'm a huge fan. I have been rewatching all the seasons since I got Disney + and I'm on Season 12 now.

No. Long does not equal great.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 22, 2022 10:45 PM |
Is Gen Z in to the Flintstones R1? The kids still know who Homer and Bart Simpson is.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 22, 2022 10:46 PM |
South Park is right up there too. In fact, I'd say South Park has probably had more influence on our culture than any other animated show. Family Guy as well
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 22, 2022 10:47 PM |
The Simpsons walked so South Park and Family Guy could run R5 and both were clearly inspired by the former even if they pushed more boundaries.

^ Ok, wasn't trying to take anything away from the Simpsons. They all contributed greatly to the social narative
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 22, 2022 10:52 PM |
The Simpsons was like the animated version of Married With Children. Both Homer and AL Bundy were crappy husbands with long suffering wives and two bratty children of the opposite genders.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 22, 2022 10:57 PM |
The Simpsons reflected the human condition, South Park exposed it and shone a 1000 watt light on it
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 22, 2022 11:00 PM |
Cartman is like a ADHD version of Bart. Lisa was self-righteous and annoying, the original Meg.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 22, 2022 11:10 PM |
^ Meghan McCain? Yeah, I'll say 😒
Of course, they all lead a broader and more meaningful life than you do
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 22, 2022 11:37 PM |
Simpsons, by a mile.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 22, 2022 11:50 PM |
Even if you could argue that last 20 years sucked, it still means the first 14 years were fantastic.
14 years of ANY show says a lot about quality when most seasons were at least 20 shows and many as many as 25.
Show me any sitcom where it had even 10 solid seasons.

The first ten seasons of The Simpsons are unsurpassed. Particularly seasons three through seven - I don't think there was a single bad episode.
Every season from then on has ranged from mediocre to downright awful. Yes, there are a handful of great post-90s episodes, but for the most part... meh.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 23, 2022 12:16 AM |
It's kind of eerie how ahead of its time the show has been, so far ahead it seems to predict the future.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 23, 2022 1:23 AM |
Fuck you R11 go suck on a used tampon then dive into a grease fire you pig.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 23, 2022 1:56 AM |
^ Was that a nerve Klan Granny? 😂
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 23, 2022 4:00 AM |
What nerve R17 the one you're trying to get on but failing miserably? I'm no granny either, the dry pussy and even drier humor clearly belongs to you cunt face.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 23, 2022 8:10 PM |
The Simpsons was great but it has been awful for about 25 years now. That's like 3x longer than it's been good/great. It';s just a cash cow at this point.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 23, 2022 8:12 PM |
Family Guy is better.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 23, 2022 8:13 PM |
^Yes R20 Family Guy is one of the better IMATATORS of The Simpsons
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 23, 2022 8:16 PM |
COOL MAN!
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 23, 2022 8:18 PM |
It's a perfectly cromulent series.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 23, 2022 8:18 PM |
I absolutely loved in the early days — I remember seeing clips of it during the Tracy Ullman show.
Last time I tried to watch it, I just couldn’t. It was unwatchable. Just awful.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 23, 2022 8:25 PM |
Family Guy has surpassed it in quality. It's still good twenty years in.
The Simpsons ran out of steam when Clinton was in office.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 23, 2022 8:42 PM |
R8 Simpsons were never politically incorrect like Married with Children. Homer is nothing like Al. He's just dumb, but he loves Marge. Al hates his wife and children. And his life.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 23, 2022 8:52 PM |
To the people saying Family Guy is better, what drugs are you on? That show is for simpletons. Absolutely nothing clever or funny about it. One of the most overrated tv shows ever made.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 23, 2022 8:53 PM |
"Homer is nothing like Al. He's just dumb"
You sure about that R26?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 23, 2022 9:00 PM |
Totally agree R27 family guy appeals to the lowest common denominator, very obvious humor. Although I will say their parodies of celebrities are unmatched.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 23, 2022 9:03 PM |
And just like that the miserable piece of shit @r18 is gone **POOF** No more racist Klan Granny 🙂
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 23, 2022 9:13 PM |
R28 There's a difference between Homer strangling Bart and Al wishing he never had children.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 23, 2022 9:19 PM |
Get the fuck outta here BITCH R30
