My best friend lives in Las Vegas and he said that there was a story on the local news yesterday that Adele had moved out of her suite at Caesar’s Palace to a suite at the Wynn Hotel. I said that it must be a slow news day in Las Vegas.

I was a fan from very early on, I read all the British music magazines and Adele, Robyn, Duffy & Amy Winehouse were all being feted. I couldn’t wait for them to come to the US, I wanted to see all of them live. Sadly, I never saw any of them.

anyway, I’m done with her. I’ll listen to one of her good songs if it comes on the radio, and I’ll still sing at the top of my lungs along to it.. But I am no longer a fan. She could have been such a fun act, the kind of show that I could go to with a group of pals to celebrate a birthday or Christmas or whatnot. I don't criticize this move at all -- in OPERA singers, who have the BEST vocal technique of any professional can only do 3-4 performances a week -- how in the hell can an Adele or Celine or anyone be expected to hit those studio money notes 7 times a week? It's unrealistic and cause for quick burnout, good technique or not.

I think Adele's popularity was more in the songwriting - her ballads had hooks that were as catchy as most up-tempo pop. I'd hear the song once and be able to sing along to it. It felt almost as if the songs were covers of existing songs that I knew.
