It will be a great networking event for whoever goes, but I doubt Bash and Will join Joe and Kit as a foursome. It seems a bit too high profile of an event for Kit to have Will as his official +1. If they make it a more casual group thing, lots of fans will rage about Bash attending instead of Yaz. I could possibly see Patrick and Eros attending along with Joe and Kit, not as guest but simply as important people in the industry who want to network.

Between how Kit looks at Joe in R147 and how Joe looks at Kit in R153 it's hilarious that people still try to argue that they're not close or that they're only friends because of Bash or whatever. They wear their fondness for each other on their sleeves (or in their eyes, basically).

Back when they did press earlier this year, I can semi understand why some people might have thought they didn’t get on ultra well - that was my very initial impression when I first watched a vaguely awkward interview of theirs - but the closeness is very obvious nowadays and the success of the show has clearly brought them much closer. I think calling them best friends or soulmates is relatively harmless (if a little deluded) - as long as it mostly stays away from thinking that they’re actually in love with each other then I’m happy with that. And compared to some fandoms, it does seem that people generally know not to do that. Probably partly because fans jump down your throat if you ship any of the cast.

Heartstopper fans from other platforms ship them openly only twitter that they can’t accept it cause fandom polices.

These teens self project onto the cast a lot. They personally would be very uncomfortable with strangers talking about them in a sexual way. So they hide their faces behind pictures of their favorite celebrities and imagine those celebrities are equally uncomfortable. Hopefully they’ll grow out of it and realize how naive they were in time. In the meantime, I find these crazy teens reaction to obvious thirst traps oddly entertaining.

The two of you clearly have a playful dynamic onscreen and off. How much work did that take?

CONNOR It’s one of those things where we were very much thrown into the deep end when we made it. We had two weeks of rehearsal. And then suddenly we started shooting. But we were quite lucky in that we tried to film it in chronological order, which was perfect.

LOCKE Chemistry is something you can’t fake. You can’t craft that — you can’t learn chemistry. It’s just there or it isn’t. I think that’s what has happened. I kind of have a theory on that as well. With the way everyone in Kit's circle (famous and non-famous) unfollowed her, with Bash unfollowing her [italic]on her birthday[/italic], and with her following modeling agencies, I've theorized that it was less a break-up and more that Kit figured out that she was chasing a bit of clout via the attention he was getting. I would hope they don’t really if they had been paying attention and read twitter more than they should they would know that many of the hardcore fangirls who were at the last one were very much part of the mob that went after Joe and Bash. I’ve noticed Bash is now completely cancelled among the big accounts no profile pictures or mentions of his name even his previous superfans, and many of them have erased Joe almost as completely.

I understand the psychology of the mob and mass hysteria but I still can’t quite process how two such completely sweet, decent and liberal young men have been cancelled over a mix of things that never happened and some perceived moral impurity.

It would have helped if, like Joe implied, we didn't all have to collectively act like clueless idiots when it comes to Charlie's storyline because Netflix and Alice are worried about spoilers for a web comic that's been out for years. That being said, even Kit getting in alone would be helpful to Joe next season. If the show is shut out entirely its first season it's near impossible to get into awards for subsequent seasons. Having a foot in would help once Joe starts getting the more dramatic material.

The bit where Kit says that they were able to create a beautiful queer group of people that they deeply love by working on the show was very sweet.

As the interviewer and the newspaper - especially as the Guardian which is well regarded - I would be pretty peeved by this tweet and more or less burn that bridge with her, which isn’t great for s writer of middling at best skill and not much of a compelling personality. Her PR person and agent must have a hell of a time managing her incredible oversensitivity and ego.
