It just means they unfriended you. If you were blocked, you wouldn't be able to see any trace of them on Facebook either through search or in messenger.

They probably temp deactivated their account, for the reason R3 mentioned.

She found out where those anonymous notes were coming from and she simply had to cut you off.

TRUE. If it makes you feel horrible don't use it, or sparingly. There have even been studies made of how using social media especially Instagram makes people more depressed than if not.

If his profile pic is as you describe, it could be his removal of all photos from his profile picture and any public accessible material from his account due to his being hacked. He could have also deactivated his account for some reason. If he blocked you you wouldn’t see his fb unless you were outside of fb on the general internet and if he took his fb off public internet it would disappear completely. If you are worried about a person’s well being you can use a friends profile if he has taken his profile off of the public internet. Are you worried about him? I had surgery and had to disconnect my fb in various ways because I didn’t want to get hacked while I was under the knife.

I hate Facebook more and more everyday. At least you've found about your friend possibly blocking you. I can not even see my friends, Facebook has so many irrelevant recommendations of people I don't know and their boring posts in my feed.

I blocked my sister after a very serious disagreement. I needed time to cool down. She went berserk because she had one less “friend”. She was more concerned about that that losing her brother, and trashed me to everyone on Facebook. We have never spoken since.
