My company is requiring all employees to watch a series of short animated (barely) videos about cybersecurity, starring, in voiceover, such luminaries as Stacy Keach, Jon Lovitz, and Linda Evans. It’s unaccountably depressing to see them scratching for work.
Who, has done anything for work for years, and who?

Far more depressing is how much your company paid for those videos and, in turn, for the stars of them. And how HR thought it was a great deal --and fun to see that Linda Evans again!-- because it saved anyone in the department having to do any actual work (HR motto: "Outsource! Outsource! Outsource!")
My old company hired a terrible Israeli mentalist to lighten up our annual Zoom meeting at $50,000. Wasn't that fun?

When I was in high school and college I did quite a few corporate training videos. I was cast because my friend's mom worked for the company. It was easier for her to get us to show up and tell us what to do rather than have to go through the casting process. Most of the applicants took it so seriously with their head shots and sizzle reels. It's hard to believe that the "stars" in OPs video are actually paying an agent to get them these kinds of gigs.

Why is money so tight for Evans?
