I was 14, and felt embarrassed for her because she was 11 years old at the time and the character was supposed to be much younger. She was costumed in little girl dresses and looked like she was going to burst out of them. Lois Nettleton played the mother-in-deafness-denial-lectured-by-Dr. Welby role. Get well, Dawn!

It was fascinating that the producers of "My Three Sons" wanted the show to continue even LONGER than it ran, even after three of the four sons got married. If ever a show had died out, it was this one.
