What's "funny" about that scar is my friend who is currently dying of cirrhosis has an identical one. She probably passed out in a black out and fell on her face with no arms out to protect her.

Being realistic, how much time does he have left?

If somebody gets very ill from alcohol like that currently there’s a way a person can be given a type of conservatorship that’s specifically for substance abuse. That may only be for the United States.

It makes me wonder what happens when he goes to the doctor. Does the doctor just ignore it? perhaps Johnny avoids doctors, or only gets Michael Jackson killer type doctors that constantly say yes to the point of lethality.

I just don’t understand the appeal of consuming that much alcohol. It seems to be a slow method of suicide and everybody knows that you’re doing it. And it’s probably not being consumed at that stage for the sake of appeal. More like maintenance of physical dependence and the organ damage is just off the charts.

I heard Christopher Plummer or Peter O’Toole (one of those 2) to say one time that all of their friends died from hard drinking except the ones that ate food with the etoh. at a certain level of excess even food doesn’t help

Also some of Depp's best roles are Tim Burton: Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood - mainly those too. Sweeny Todd also was a good enough film.

His face structure looks totally different. The dent in the forehead. Also, his chin was never like that. His "new chin" is longer, bigger, and more square than is previous natural chin. His eyes look smaller because his chin and forehead are larger and the skin of his face is swollen or injected with fillers to hide wrinkles and facial wasting. This has totally changed his face shape and appearance. It appears he also he lost his teeth and had teeth replaced which has also changed the shape of his face and mouth. He looks more like an adult Edward Furlong now than Johnny Depp. Depp's face is no longer his. This is due to bad work and also bad health and aging.

He does not have the face or body of a man who regularly visits a physician, R66. That's the face and body of a man who has self-medicated since he escaped the trailer park.

If we didn't know who his name and he came up and asked any of us for $10, we would think he was another skid row bum.

No, I think Depp really was the shit as an actor, in the 1990s and at least part of the 2000, he gave original, varied, and extremely entertaining performances in films like "Ed Wood", the first "Pirates", "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", "The Libertine", "From Hell", etc. He had enough range to do comedy, drama, adventure, period, American, Brit, etc. He was hilarious in comedies and affecting in drama, he was enough of a chameleon to seem completely different in each role. And he threw it all away, started being this lazy fucker who used heavy makeup to disguise his face and who was the same in every role.

He didn't respect his own talent, or the people who hired him, or his fans. He threw his career away of his own free will, and I'm done with him.

I don’t think he’s a great actor. He was hot. I liked him in Fear and Loathing but it sounds like he was kind of playing an aspect of himself. And of course you’re going to do a great job when it’s your idol you’re playing.

I think Depp was quite passionate about making movies in the past. Seemed to have as much fun as humanly possible doing the first Pirates. And he made that character up, I believe, more than the writer or director.

Also I think he was a good enough sport? Maybe he was a mess doing 21 Jumpstreet, definitely he was a mess doing the Pirates movie in Australia with the whole Ambergeddon. but I don't think he was all the time in between.

Turns out he is neither a saint nor a worthless waste of space, just a talented actor with demons.
