Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Jordan was driving in Hollywood Monday morning when it's suspected he suffered some sort of medical emergency and crashed his BMW into the side of a building.

Seizure? Heart attack? Stroke? Fortunately unlike Anne He He, it doesn't appear that anyone else was hurt.

Such a shame. He would have only gotten funnier as he aged. It’s nice he had a last hurrah with his Innstagram fame during lockdown. I worry about his sister and mother, I know he looked after them.

How great that he enjoyed some national success (and healthy paychecks) in his final years, though : )

It's a sad state of the world when people are "required" to make a statement when someone they know has passed.

I know two people who were genuinely close to Leslie and they're both crushed and silent.

I'm glad that at least he got to experience being an internet sensation, and all the increased recognition and opportunities that came with it, in his final years. He really went out on a high note, and it was very well-deserved.

I know he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream by recording his gospel album, meeting and singing with Dolly Parton on it, and appearing at the Grand Old Opry. He wasn't much of a singer, to put it mildly, but his charm helped him pull it off beautifully.

I wasn't a regular "Will and Grace" viewer, though I do remember seeing him and enjoying him on that show a couple of times. I really didn't know who he was until his pandemic videos, which turned me into a huge fan of his.

The car doesn’t look that damaged. The front is fine. Must have been a stroke or cardiac event. His mom, who he was very close to, died last year. The pandemic has been hard on everyone and he provided some laughter during the darkest times.

I wasn’t aware that he spent four months in jail because of substance abuse? He was a hardcore drinker and did drugs too? I guess if he was doing coke or other Hollywood prevalent drugs, his heart could have been weakened. He’d been sober for over 20 years. Awful.

Jenn Lahmers (entertainment reporter) is on the scene of the crash and has some info on her Instagram stories. She says he crashed into a tree in Hollywood while driving his BMW. A cop told her the airbags deployed but the impact wasn’t that hard so he wasn’t driving very fast. They did cpr on him for 10 minutes before declaring him dead.

i really can’t believe it. leslie jordan was, hands down, one of the greats. people use that expression a lot, and i’m not sure it’s always applicable. there aren’t that many people who are truly great at anything. but leslie was flawlessly funny, a virtuoso of comedy. his timing, his delivery, all apparently effortless. you can’t get any better than that.

and what a friendly, fun-loving, dear person. i was just with him last month. the prestigious national book festival was showcasing leslie and his best-selling book in washington d.c., and he’d asked me to come interview him for his event. i’d done my prep, but it was all completely unnecessary, of course, as i just had to barely unleash him and he went off on a series of absolutely hilarious stories that had the very large audience in hysterics for a solid hour. off-stage, he was so relaxed and happy, there with his best friend mike. he truly seemed so happy. how brilliant it was that millions of people were able to discover the real leslie and his love of life and unparalleled story-telling abilities on instagram. he had so much to share, and it meant so much to him that finally he’d found a vehicle through which to share it. he was absolutely unique. one of a kind. thank you to all of his fans! he really loved you all and was so genuinely appreciative of you.

i’m so so glad that i got to spend some time with leslie that day before and after the event, just us, catching up. i felt such a deep affection for him that day; he was so warm and present and darling. as we were leaving, i got a couple more big hugs and told him i loved him, as usual. so glad! what a gift! and so. love you, leslie. miss you already. and one thing i know for sure… there will never ever be another you.

I watched the short lived sitcom The Cool Kids that Leslie was in. It was about a group of friends living in a retirement community. It aired during the 2018-2019 season. FOX canned it after one season. I can't recall it was due to low ratings. I remember the show was decent for the most. Leslie was best part of the show. I totally forgot about that show until covid hit, my aunt who has lived in a retirement community since 2016 was sad because the community shut down on-site clubs and other activities. I didn't read it. I saw him tell it on youtube. This was a while ago so I wouldn't know where to find it. Surely somebody out there does. Call me Kat is a horrible, super WOKE, super unfunny show but I watched it last night to see how they handled Les Jordan's death and they fired him in the episode. Maybe they were going to write him off and that is why he died.

It's interesting that there is no update on the cause of his death yet. If it was something like a heart attack or stroke, they would've found that in the initial autopsy and not had to have "addition investigation" into it. I'm guessing he might have been under the influence and they're waiting to get the toxicology reports back. That can take months sometimes.
