Joan Cusack Appreciation Thread: 2022 Edition

We know her. We love her. We kinda wonder what happened to her.

What's your favorite Joan Cusack role? What are some roles you think she would've nailed, had she been cast?

She also had a neat role playing against type in "Arlington Road." She played a domestic terrorist posing as a sweet housewife in the suburbs.

I liked her, but got turned off after what she said to the Precious actress (can’t remember her name). Then there was a thread that had some stories about negative interactions with her.

She was not a bit player on SNL, she was a full-fledged cast member.

That being said, my favorite role of hers is the bit part she did in Sixteen Candles.

Absolutely Debbie in “Addams Family Values”, she was a delight!

No one else could play Debbie like her. They throw around the word "iconic" a lot these days, but that is a truly iconic performance.

I voted for Debbie, and stand by it, but this was terrifying.

Gen Z gays are "rediscovering" movies like Hocus Pocus, but Addams Family Values is a cult classic in its own right, due entirely to her character. She's what was missing from the first film.

Award-nomination worthy?

She was perfection in "Adams Family Values".

Director Barry Sonnenfeld told her that laugh was going to win her some awards someday, but he felt sorry for her poor husband who'd have to hear it for the rest of his life.
