Found this thread on Reddit talking about a closeted celebrity
Any guesses on who he is?
[quote]I am a 20 year old gay man in the US. I have been dating this celebrity (who is not out and doesn't plan on coming out soon). I won't say who he is but he is one of the main characters on a popular TV show which gets about 10 million views every episode. We met while he was promoting the show at Comic Con in New York. As previously stated, our relationship is not public. The only people who know about us is his immediate family, his close circle of friends and his co-stars on the show, who btw are all very supportive. Recently I was in a bad car accident here in LA and almost died. He came to see me and cried about me being in the hospital. The doctor said I will recover fine though. (Yay!) The whole incident made me realize that I want to be with him for the rest of my life (and not because he's a celebrity). But because everyday I'm with him, I don't feel weird or alone or different. I feel unconditionally loved, something I wasn't getting back home in upstate New York. And his fear and concern at the hospital only solidified my feelings. After I get out of the hospital, I wanna to propose to him. But I have a few fears: 1. Will he reject me? 2. How can we keep it a secret? 3. What kind of ring to you get a rich, successful young actor? Lol I just realized that life is way too short for regrets and I just want to tell him how much he means to me. Any advice?

A needy, clingy, blabby, immature BF who is itching to out his celebrity BF?
What could go wrong?
That celebrity is going to wind up wishing you had died in that car crash, hun.

I don't believe this story because nothing gets 10 million viewers a week anymore.

Do these olds-attracting shows go to Comicon?

Young Sheldon most likely, maybe the big brother actor, although just as likely the dumb twink lied

No one knows the celeb is gay EXCEPT for his family, friends and coworkers....and each and everyone of them can be trusted with this big 'secret'. Sure, Jan...

Yeah the first thing that made me laugh is the 10 million viewers. Very, very shows get those types of ratings these days.

Sounds uninspired. 0/1000000

Does this hack want people to guess who the celebrity is in this "blind gossipy" game or does he want advice? This is just stupid.

Which type of shows would be promoted at Comic Con, and have 10 million view each episode?

It's either Iain Armitage or David McCallum!

r18, Is it one of the Star Trek shows like Strange New Worlds? I’ll cut this bitch if it’s my future husband Ethan Peck.

Sounds like a fan fiction.

10 million is clearly an exaggeration. I still think it's Chace Crawford. His show is a comic book show and would have been at ComicCon.

Is Chance still connected in any way to Rebecca Rittenhouse?

You might have to cut a bitch, r20.

Matt Smith from Dr. Who and The Crown? It would have to be something from a streaming service as opposed to regular TV.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 18, 2022 6:20 PM

Streaming platforms don't participate in the Nielsen viewer rating system. So the whole viewership estimate would not fit to any streaming platform show (like Boys from Amazon Prime). I believe, none of the streaming platform share viewership numbers of all of their shows, not even top ten lists. So, that part could be a lie.
Then he jumps inbetween East and West Coast
[quote] Recently I was in a bad car accident here in LA and almost died.
[quote] I feel unconditionally loved, something I wasn't getting back home in upstate New York.
So, grew up in upstate New York and is now living in L.A?
Then the issue is that the celebrity is young AND rich. So it can't be a CW or a streaming show, because they don't make that much money there.
I think it's an EST, but I would love it to be Jack Quaid, but the writer didn't mention a beard.

10 million viewers....must be Tom Selleck from Blue Bloods!

HBO and Disney release their viewing numbers.
ComicCon. Marvel? Mandalorian? Loki?
House of Dragons?
Hmmmm

Just to play along...is it someone from Cobra Kai? I read somewhere that Cobra Kai got very good ratings on Netflix and I assume there is a Comic Con component to the p.r. for the show.

Yeah, this Reddit confection extrudes EST energy from every orifice, but let's indulge.
Darlin', if you're typing "LOL" unironically into a post about a nearly-lethal car crash and a deeply closeted power-player boyfriend, all your ass is fit to do right now is draw daisies and his initials in the margins of your secret diary.

Is there a link to the reddit post? I’d like to see the date on it. Is it current or old? I can’t seem to find it through Google.
Also…For reasons I will never understand Comic-Con has network TV show panels that are completely unrelated to the comic/sci-fi/fantasy genre.

R36 it brings in money and their formula is actually really nice because the mom-famous members of a cast sometimes get a little attention.
I know many will role their eyes but it could be Euphoria. HBO gloated about its outstanding ratings for S2. Plenty of kale leads that could fit this broad MO.
Final note, OP I’ve missed the celeb chatter on DL. The celeb gossip hooked me on this site, since COVID it’s been crickets.

To be closeted is a pretty big deal, to be famous is also, to be gay, closeted and famous quite frankly is a recipe for disaster for any relationship. I think he'll probably be opposed to living together do to being closeted? Maybe you can propose first living together and see how she flies. Good luck.

R5 I was wrong. If you round up and throw out football games, that leaves a whopping four shows.
R11 Have you visited the Am I the Asshole subreddit? It has the fakest stories clearly written by kids who have no idea how laws work or what real estate actually costs. I remember one post was by someone claiming that they owned a house in San Francisco, and I forget how much they said it was worth, but it was far below what a vacant lot would be worth in a competitive housing market.

I have trouble believing a 20-year-old wrote that because they used TV ratings as a flex. Youths stream TV on their new-fangled tablets an thingamajigs.

The list above is all cable shows? None of them go to comicons.
If true, must be something like Riverdale. Is Riverdale even relevant to younger viewers anymore? They likely stopped watching when they grew up.
Young Sheldon kids are too young; like 12-13 and 16, nowhere marriage material in some twinks imagination.
