CALL ME KAT - Season 3

This show has an embarrassing amount of talent for such a shitty sitcom. It's not funny. And the low-key laugh track (or poor audience cues- I can't imagine this is shot before a live audience?) is terrible.

Addressing the audience should've been jettisoned after the first episode.

Is Swoozie back this season?

Oh, and they didn’t get rid of the disturbing waving to the audience at the end. Swoosie was in the first episode.

They're all (well almost all of them) are so talented.

I caught a re-run of Laverne & Shirley today. It was hilarious compared to this junk.

This show is based on the UK show “Miranda.” Miranda Hart made the goofiness work. Mayim doesn’t have the same quality.

Ugh, Hollywood really should have a moratorium on storylines of women over 45 getting pregnant. Especially when they’re single and it’s by sperm donor, we don’t need them getting any ideas. And this time we don’t have a VP who’s going to call her out and try and humiliate her and demean Hollywood.

Though it was nice to see hotty Parker Young and for her to be obsequious about his shorts. And they got his age practically perfect.

I was also happy to Parker but Kat was a cringy creep to him. I understand that was the point but jeez Louise it was lousy.

The ratings are pretty solid this season (LINK)....Kat gets higher ratings than its lead in Flatch...I find the show kind of adorable. But I just cannot stand Swoozie Kurtz. She is fucking anorexic and frail. She was old 30 years ago.. I also like how they dance or go off script at the end.

I watched a little bit of the pilot but haven't kept up with this. Are Cheyenne and Vanessa Lachey still on it?

R15 = Cheyenne is still on...The show is now lighter than the first season. Also they got an 18 episode season three order (their longest)..Vanessa is long gone. Laura Bundy was on last season as Cheyennes love interest for a few episodes... The stunt castings are getting old--Ken Jennings..TBBT guy...Parker Young...Maybe Parker is coming back? Wonder if he has ever hooked up with Cheyenne in real life?

Those ratings are atrocious

R17 = Yes they are bad numbers. But the Networks can't create hits anymore. The CW has shows that only get 400,000 viewers.

“Swoosie Girl, You in Danger!”

It's the same audience that loves shitty sitcoms like Two Broke Girls, Two and Half Men and all those other ones that have fat husband and a hot wife like King of Queens. These viewers are too basic and lack any sort of humor in their own lives and therefore find what they are watching is hilarious comedy.

The laugh track is the worst. The first season was shot during covid without an audience, so all the "laughs" and the sad waving at the end was done to an empty studio. I can't imagine that's changed much.

It's not believable because Mayim is too hot to play the lead character.

They needed someone a little more basic like they got for the British version. Mayim has a smoldering sexiness that just doesn't make things owrk.

Dear God, has all of Season 3 been filmed? Otherwise, we'll be doomed to a well-meaning but diabetes inducing "very special episode".

I don't think I've ever seen Kyla Pratt in anything else, but I think she's quite good on this show.

Kyla Pratt carried her own sitcoms before as well. Like someone else said this show has huge talent but for reason i guess it's just not working

I like Parker Young. I watched a few episodes of his terrible sitcom, United States of Al, just to watch him.

He's among the list of actors who I wish would get a long-running show, but seems to land roles on short-lived flops. I found him adorable on Enlisted about three brothers in the military, even if it was essentially the same character he played on Suburgatory.

I mean, we got 11 seasons of Jessie Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet. Why can't we get 11 seasons of Parker Young frequently taking off his shirt.

^^^I got so caught up in Parket Young that I forgot to make my point about Call Me Kat.

Of the handful of episodes I've seen, I'd say it keeps getting renewed because everyone in the cast is just pleasant to watch. The show requires low engagement or investment from the audience to be moderately entertained.

It's never going to become a beloved show or a classic, but could easily run for 5 or 6 seasons, just like Mike and Molly and several other shows.

I hope Vicki’s been practicing her end of show wave.

This show is either science fiction or fantasy; in what world does that handsome drag queen go for that little old man, and in what world does that handsome Cheyenne go for Mayim Bialik?

I think Swoosie and Vicki’s characters are going to hookup and then they’re going to invent sextons for older lesbians.

Is Kat having a brain tumor and imaging her father? Is that going to be a new storyline? It’s nice that Leslie Jordan’s character gets a boyfriend before he dies. I wonder if they will make vigorous sex with him the reason?

I’m enjoying Vicki Lawrence, I just wish that the script actually had some funny lines.

But it did bring a tear to my eye at the end.

911 is going to ABC for some reason. 911: Lone Star is staying on Fox

The main 911 is expensive, I guess, and Fox cancelled it despite it being their top rated show, so ABC is picking it up.

We're going to see a lot more of this over the next few years.

Christ, this show had the longest death rattle of any network show, it’s about time before they kill Swoosie too, she was bound to tumble down one of those staircase steps and shatter bones. And her waving was pathetic.

The shows a rip off of the hysterical British show MIRANDA. This one’s even more far fetched because no way in bloody hell could FUG annoying Blossom/Kat land the looks of Cheyenne Jackson even when he’s off the wagon.

That’s too bad. I’ll have to find another sitcom to hate watch.
