Gavin Newsom's Hairdo

It always seemed very Pat Riley, to me. Which is fine, I love Pat Riley....but it's very dated/1980s. I'm more surprised that Newsom has made it this far with that unpleasant, gravely voice. And all the "ahhh"-pauses! How has no one corrected that, over the years??

It's his leftover Republican/conservativism - and I'll bet also he's hiding hair loss.

Gavin Newsome looks fine just as he is, he can still hit it anytime he wants it. This kind of longer, slicked hair must be easier to have a "system" in place (similar to Gary Cole, see pic). You can't go too short or have a military buzz cut if you need artificial add-ins.

I'm a fan of Gary Cole but there's no way that's all naturally his. Cole is mid-60's though.

He's been doing this weird thing where he imitates other politicians. He was mimicking Trump's cadence and hand gestures in a gun video early in the summer, and now he's doing the angry, ole, spittin' mick schtick Biden does. It's weird and Spectrum-like.

Dyslexic men become very quick and observant studies of others. Its how the function since there's so little book learning.

I get the same slimeball type feeling from him that I got from John Edwards. And, he married Kimberly Guilfoyle. I mean, what does that say about his judgment?

And to think his original love is now with Junior Mint.

If he grew up in CA, then he was definitely influenced by Pat Riley's look.

A friend of mine does his hair like that (swept back and gelled). My friend said that he tried other styles, but the swept back (pompadour?) style just looks best on him.

Somehow, yes, it does look a little sleazy and car salesman-ish.

The teeth look unnatural.

I've never listened to him talk, so I can't comment on his voice or his umms and uhhs.

He's not the only one. New Jersey Governor Murphy had hair restoration of some sort, which some think implies that he may also try running for POTUS. Newsom's hair looks good. Murphy's hair is just....different.

I don't know about his hairdo but I walked behind him on Stockton St. once when he was wearing jeans and he has a terrible ass.

Newsom's back story is he was from a fairly middle class family - parents were divorced and while there was some money from grandparents, etc,, he did not necessarily see it.

But in college or right after, he became good friends with a Getty who backed him on a wine store, which turned into a chain and then a chain of restaurants that he sold off and had lots of money from--so not born rich, but made the money on his own.

R38 - Well, not sure how much of his success was "on his own". Aside from the generous assist by Getty (and THAT'S a whole other story), there's a ton white privilege in that story. He should atone, and give all his money away to disenfranchised minorities like any decent Progressive would.

He was given a lucky opportunity and made the most of it. He’s smart and not ancient. He has my vote!
